A great trip, which included three railway stations designed by my great great uncle (William Roberts[on], the Engineer in Chief of the Highland Railway 1898-1914), in very different styles - Aviemore, Kingussie and the Up platform building at Pitlochry. He was the Assistant Engineer for, and completed, the Nairn Viaduct and he was responsible for doubling parts of the line - singled by BR and now re-doubled.

Hi, thanks for the comment and watching. Those stations are beautiful what a great job your great great uncle did. Amazing.

I've taken full journeys on both the Class 170 and the HST. I had no problem with the 170 for the full 3hrs 30mins journey. It was nice and comfy and just a nice ride. The only issue was it was 10:10 on a Friday morning before the October holidays so it was mobbed and I was 10 minutes into my journey before I got a seat. But other than that jo complaints. But you are right about the HST. There is something about it that's just amazing. I don't know why they just have the HST on the route instead of the 170s. The 170 was meant to retire in 2019 and the HST was to replace them. If you are going to postpone a retirement But Intercity trains are on a long distance route already then why not put the Class 170 on a commuter route?

I recently subscribed. You have a nice channel here. I would have liked a longer video with more scenery but I just love the Scottish countryside.

Thank you, much appreciated - I also appreciate feedback, I have an upcoming Kings Cross - Inverness so I’ll definitely make sure I’ll put more scenery in that.

The HST looked great I would have thought it would have been an HST all the way instead of a commuter train for 3.5 hrs 👍👍😎

I had hoped for that too, I think the later direct service was an HST as we passed a northbound one,

I know, it’s something I’ve been trying to sort, I’m currently attempting to find a decent one that’s compatible with IPhone12 and IMovie as that’s what I use to record and edit with!.

I think the class 170s should replace the class 156 on the route from Glasgow to Mallaig. The legroom may not be as good but the seats are comfier and the 170s are smoother, faster and less noisy

love your films but you must change 'good morning England' to good morning 'all countries' which would, unless you haven't realised include Scotland, Wales + NI ?

Hi thanks - appreciate the support. It was after this film that I changed to the Union Jack on the rest of my films.

The class 170s are perfectly fine for a journey of 1 hour or less, but for a journey of 3 hours plus you need better. The inter7 cities are way better
