Thank you so much for your video. I was able to open mine, clean it with contact cleaner, now it's charging again. 🙏🏾 Just wish I didn't panic purchase the dewalt one couple hours ago 😪
Wait what!?? I have 3 dead ones.. lights come on in back then die.. can I take it apart spray the whole thing with contact cleaner then put it back together and it will work?
My 40v pwr core was coding for a hot/cold problem so I threw in in the freezer for a bit and it takes a full charge. Will probably try replacing the thermistor it that stops working.
I have 3 skil 20, twin of them shows green like yours when put on the charger and other don’t light up or charge at all. Can I take parts from them to make one or two?
The fan on mine sometimes will turn on. Otherwise, the green power light on the battery reads either two bars, one bar, or red when I have tried to charge it at different times. I use it to get what I can out of my lawnmower. I don't want to buy a new battery at this particular time, but I may have no choice.
my skil pwr core 12v battery leaked green gooey stuff. i dunno what it was... and its dead. when i use the battery the lights of my power tools just blink and it doesnt work.. care to tell what it was, pls..
Very interesting. Question though do you think that this problem has been solved? I have a newer set of pwr core 20 tools as well but I'm having a similar issue with my 2ah. Is intermittent but nonetheless a very similar issue
Problem has not been solved. After this video was made I discovered I could swap the 2ah DMS on to a 5.0. But randomly they still will not charge. I now have a 20v laptop charger that I connect to it with prongs and over ride the BMS. Skil will honor the battery once but the second gen battery does the same thing.
That happend to mine i put a wire beetween another bAttery plus to plus and negative to negative and refuels the battery as that happens when you run out of battery and keep going
did you notice in the editing stage, that towards the end of the video when you put the battery on the charger the battery status indicator started blinking as if it was charging? Wondering if that is a sign of a glitching bms or since the battery is "close" to full that it is charging slowly and thus the fan isn't needed?

I have 3 dead batteries the 2 good ones are going out and they leak. I was a believer in skil but I think I'm going to milwakee 12v

I am also having this same issue. I can't charge the PWRCore 2Ah battery. Power light blinks green (1 bar) and the charger light stays solid red.

never use the jump charger . shame you cant completely bypass the BMS and use a lipo balance charger to charge it.
Mine won't even light up
Mine are dead 3 years old
