I just got off the carnival Sunshine with family (7/15/18 - 7/20/2018), it was my first cruise. I went to the complimentary pool and my mom and I went on the zip line which was fun. 🙂 It was $20 flat fee for an unlimited pass. However, the water slide was closed when we went. It was hot and there is a fee for opening up an umbrella attached to the pool chairs. We did manage to find the Amber Cove sign and shopped in the plaza. Your video was very helpful thanks!! 😊
@@alexandriaisgro4987 If you check the map at the Amber Cover web site, the zipline is located at/near #16. Once you're in the area, you won't be able to miss it because the lines go directly over what the map calls the "Aqua Zone." www.ambercove.com/port-information/amber-cove-map.aspx
Thank you for this video, I only been to Amber Cove once and it rained hard the entire time so I really did not go out and look around the pier. Since you pointed out some things I have not seen when I was there I will definitely check them on my next cruise there.
We enjoyed our day at Amber Cove, we took a rickshaw ride, mooched around the shops and enjoyed cocktails around the pool. Wish I knew about the passport stamp
You can book a ship Excursion that includes a tour of the major sites in Puerto. Or you can just walk thru the Welcome Center area and grab a taxi for about $35 or so. (Haggling is expected!😎) Six miles as the crow flies.
@@samuelcollins1331 thanks for reply. Can't i take a taxi from amber cove terminal itself? Isn't it safer than taxi outside the cruise terminal. Perhaps i can negotiate for the taxi to come fetch me in puerto rico.do you think it's possible?
The US State Department *does* recommend against souvenir passport stamps, so you can use journals or other keepsakes for an alternative if you still want a stamp.
I’ve previously been on a RC cruise and we stopped at a “private island” that was designated exclusively for our cruise. Does this trip have a similar thing? Or are they both just ports? :)
The Amber Cove Cruise Center is just a port on the main island of the Dominican Republic, so it's not a private island. You can actually leave the cruise center and do excursions.

I've heard you should not get your passport stamped at places like this as in invalidates your passport. Is this true? Excellent video.

Does zip lining have a weight requirement?
According to a few sources, the minimum weight is 80 lbs/36 kg and the maximum weight is 265 lbs/120 kg.
