Glad you said that the climb out of Runswick was a tough one, makes me feel better for struggling my way to the top. Good luck with the rest of your walks 👍
I remember that clime being hard because the steps are all different heights and you just can't get a pace going. It's love to be out by the coast though and we'll worth the effort 🙂
the best route to do 100 km is along the canal in my opinion. Leeds - Liverpool canal for example. Always flat and straight forward. I'm thinking about doing it myself.
Eyup. I did something not dissimilar a few years back. Never done anything like it before. Didn't finish with a double 50 but I like the idea - are you bivvying? I never did any gym work, just long walks/hikes.. including night hikes.. when I was doing 30 miles with good recovery - I knew I was ready.. My goal was 60 miles with 8000ft ascent .. Good luck 🤞
Thank you! I hadn’t got as far as planning how I’d split the two days but I reckon a bivvy is probably the way to go. I won’t want to be faffing around or carrying too much weight. The goal would getting as close to Saltburn in a day maybe overshooting if poss. Recovery and nutrition will be key. Did you get your 60miles?
@@cragratoutdoors yes. 18 hours, with a few short stops so should be ok for a bivvy camp for your adventure.. guess it's all about the second day.. you'll smash it.. 🤜🤛

Thank you! I was blowing a bit at the top but the wooden steps near sandsend was like climbing down a ladder!

Yeah could be a good shout. I don’t really want to over complicate it when the goal is to bang out the distance but with options to bail if necessary

Totally failed to mention Skinningrove
I did! (Admittedly it was more of a nod!) There’s a lot of ground to cover on the Cleveland Way!
