I think the only people who appreciated it are people who actually payed attention to the plot and appreciate small details. Blackbeard was very enjoyable, didn’t need to be the next Davy Jones as his character wasn’t meant to be as such. (What I meant by this is he was already the legendary pirate feared by all pirates, and clearly he passed the peak of his glory, and by that point when the story takes place, he was just a husk or his former self just searching for a way out). Jack still defiantly felt like jack, but during this journey he realized he didn’t want the “treasure” half way through. Plus it proved again, as the plot always does, he is a good person, whilst being a legendary pirate. And of course, the plot felt like a small movement forward in expanding the POTC world. Introducing the Spanish, mermaids, and cursed items.
Say what people will about Pirates 4, it is one of my favorites easily silver and only beaten by 3

@@EthanShopovick Truth is, Barbossa had a great plot too. Shame we never got to see the battle where Blackbeard took the Black Pearl from Barbossa.
