    I agree with you, being able to have the lynch pin stored on the lift arm of the 3 point hitch is very handy. I had a John Deere 4600 that had places on the 3 point lift arm for the lunch pins. I currently have a LS MT468 that has places on the 3 point lift arm for the lynch pins. I've also got a Farmall 806 & it too has a place to store the lynch pins on the 3 point lift arm.

    It’s the small little things that can have a big impact on how your work goes. Having a pin holder on the lift arm is a great time saver.

    The old 1956John Deere 420 row crow we use to have had little metal clips welded on for a pin and a small hole to hook a chain on as well and to the lunch pin.

    Ben, I agree with you 100%. I have eight 8N Fords tractors and they all have loops spot welded to the left arms. My Kubota MX5400 didn’t have them. I fabricated a pair of loops exactly like the ones on my 8N tractors and welded them onto the left arm. Something very simple but very handy to have. Thanks for another great video Ben.

    54' Ferguson TO30 has them. Super handy to have. A few dollars worth of material and labor at the factory would sure save someone several steps over the life of the tractor going after their pins from the toolbox instead of where they should have been all along. Keep the videos coming and be safe out there.

    Wow, I thought that was a common feature. My Kioti CK2610 has them. My dad’s JD4310 has them too. You’re right about that being handy. I’ve never really thought about it because all the ones that I’ve ran from the little compacts we have to the bigger ones (Ford 5030) had them there. I agree, that should be an industry standard.

    I agree Ben. It’s the little things that make the work more enjoyable. When I remove my pins, it’s easy to drop them in the weeds. My BX does not have the holes for the pins. If I bought a welder, that would be a good project. Enjoy The Journey - Cheers

    • @khtractors
      @khtractors  6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      The BX is the most frustrating one for me because the little storage box is just barely big enough to store pins in. I’m thinking of added some as well. Thanks for watching

  • @ABMFARM

    Ben, Been fixing this problem for years on all my tractors when i first get them, I just take a piece of 3/8 chain and cut 2 links out, then just cut the link on the ends and weld the longer end on one arm, and the other on the other arm. Takes about 20 min of work and saves so much frustration of having no place to put the pins and 3/8 chain is the right size. I also mount a piece of rod, usually rebar near the top links on my bigger tractors to slide my adaptors for cat 2 to 1 on so they are always there. I will try to do a video and post it so everybody can see what I mean. If the manufacturers did these simple mods they would cost you way more than they do to build them yourself.

    On the new John Deere stick them down in the handle that adjusts the hight of the lift arm. There a hole on each side. That’s where I keep mine on the 5200 I have. It has holes just like your 5045 but it has chains to use as stabilizers and the lift arms flop out and hit the tires when nothing is hooked up and the tire knocks them out. So i started sticking them in the handle on the lift arm adjuster

    Any tractor with a 3 point should have provision for storage of lynch pins. I attach mine to a few links of small chain and attach that to the 3pt arms. That way while hooking up an implement I never have to worry about dropping a pin in the weeds or forget where I set it lol.

    I agree with you. My 1979 jd 2240 has a place to hold 4 pins. My 1988 deutz allis 6275 has a place to store two of them pins. And my 2001 deutz farh agrolux 80 has a ring on either arm and I can fit 6 on each side. If I was you I would get a good sized washer and weld it and put your pins on. I was looking at new tractors and hardly any of them have them anymore. I totally agree with you especially as them pins have gotten up to 25 cents a piece

    I have a 1969 John Deere 1020 that has two on each arm. I bought a pair a few years back and if memory serves me correct they were under $200 for the adjustable one and about $165 or so for the non-adjustable. I just looked one up on Amazon and the same arm was around $284 for the adjustable one, I bought mine from the local JD Dealer. Good luck on your search, I hope this info helps you!

    The OEM lift rm on my '53 Deere 40 had them but overt he years they were mangles and smashed until they didn't work anymore. My Ford 4000SU and my Massey 283 don't have anything like that. However as a work around, my 40, 283 and 4000SU all have the lift arm leveling rank on the right lift arm and the crank handle is curved and makes a perfect spot to hang linch pins in between use. But I agree with you, something so simple and would add zero cost to the manufacturing process should be common sense and included.

    Things like that SHOULD be on every tractor... I am assuming someone out there would think it's a tow hook though! LOL! Also, the tool boxes on tractors SHOULD be big enough for an assortment of pins, a few tools, and easy to remove and clean out. If you think about a farmer investing $50-$65K for a basic utility tractor these days, the manufacturer could include a few $5 features for convenience.
