Ernst is still my go to, cheaper than tool box widget and actually made in America. Ernst oems for tekton and snap on but can be actually be found for less money and with more color options, their socket boss socket rails are also second to none and their pliers racks are also best in the business. Honestly a whole video could be made just on high quality, low-ish cost, made in America, tool organizer solutions

Also those EZ Red look an awful lot like the ones on the Matco truck

The best wrench holder for a moving tool box is a roll up pouch. Just unroll it when you need it and roll it back up. Takes less space also... simple.

Seems like that would be an utter pain, where would you roll it out, there’s no counter space on a cart.

@RunninGunner04 would be if there was absolutely nowhere to place them down but I always found that opening any drawer and laying them down (open side towards you) and just lifting the pouch up and grabbing what you need underneath worked for me. I don't use it anymore since I replaced it with the old harbor freight whole drawer organizer for wrenches (regular and stubby) and Allens long ago.

@ still seems like a pain when you can get pretty good sized carts at harbor freight for fairly cheap, I’ve got a snapon one I bought with me student discount a few years ago, I’ve got one drawer with all my regular wrenches and some ratcheting flex heads, the big box holds the ratcheting regular wrenches, flare nut wrenches, jumbo wrenches etc

Might not be a great idea for a tool cart, but I use them on all of my motorcycles. Can’t be beat, haven’t lost a tool in over 40 years.

Considering I don't even have a tool cart and work exclusively from a stationary box typically, I'll throw a curveball to you all. Tool grid system. Extremely expensive but the end result is magnificent. Just recently did my wrench drawer and did my socket, extension, and ratchet drawer a year ago. I use a veto propac tool tote for larger jobs. I'm a bowling pinsetter Brunswick A2 mechanic. Long live SAE. Screw Metric.

The holders that came with my Milwaukee wrenches work really well for a drawer in a toolbox.

That's great, I'd rather support a small, non monopolized company based in America. Just remember, Milwaukee is based right out of Hong Kong, China. I stay my distance from that garbage. Ez red is the easy choice for me in this situation.

Thanks for this vid! Never realized there were so many different types of wrench organizers. I’ve never searched for something like this before. Now I need to update my tool box with these.

I have a stationery toolbox and versastack drawers in my camper. Really like the toolbox widgets for organizing. Have them for pliers and screwdrivers. Love how modular they are. Can also offset them by half of the connection to tailor it to fit different sized tools. Recently replaced my 42 year old friction fit wrench holders with alien space savers. Great fit and really does organize my draws well, only downside for what you are reviewing is does not have tool retention, similar to toolbox widget. But just drove 400+ miles pulling my camper, using the alien space savers to hold my screwdrivers and bit drivers in my versastack drawer system, worked perfectly.

I have the Tekton wrench organizers. They work pretty good. I've had them a little over a year. They come in different sizes and with labels. i was able to get them arranged so it fits the drawer and doesn't shift around.

I have that Harbor Freight one and really like it. My 56 inch box doesn't do much moving and shaking so I'm not too worried about lateral movement. Just wanted to add that "veteran owned" doesn't always mean something. Black Rifle Coffee is veteran owned and their merchandise is made in China.

In my stationary tool box, I use Alien Space Savers. Sure you can't hang them but they do save space compared to even the ernst or toolbox widget organizers. And they're a lot more adaptable. I even use them for my pliers. Plus you can't beat supporting a small business

I have the Harbor Freight version of the Swan Lake oneThe HF one isn’t magnetic but the wrench’s, you slightly twist them in place. I also have a tool pouch for wrenches that roll up, it works great for me. As far as the wrenches staying in place laying flat in the drawer & not bouncing out of the holder, that is one rough shop floor.

There are so many out there, for how many you actually need, between wrenches, pliers, ratchets, then your sockets organizers. You need to refinance your house just to organize your tool box. Years ago I twisted 14 ga wire around a dowel for my tool box for wrenchs , used that for years before I got actual organizers.

It isn't perfect but for the money it is perfect enough. I did this for years and recommend it to the newbs as a low cost alternative they can use until they have had time to figure out their buy once cry once solution.

Older mechanics i worked with used Hydraulic hose tension spring and pushed ther wrenches between the coils with no damage to the finish on the wrench also they stayed in place till u pulled them out and a very narrow foot print, years ago there was no real options for tool organization so u came up with your own and the price was right

As an avid off roader I’m always trying different arrangements that will allow me to keep tools organized at home yet be able to throw what’s needed for the trails without making two tool boxes.

Each time you use a tool from your big toolbox to do anything you think you might do on the trail mark it with a sharpie. Pretty soon you will find you need three wrenches, less than a half dozen sockets, two ratchets, and several specialty tools in a pouch when you go off road. In another pouch you will have a bunch of supplies, hardware and extra frequently broken items. You’re not going to be lapping valves on the trail.

Cloth roll ups for my wrench sets. I don't have a set location to constantly work from, and often have to transport tools to be used. Not sad big tool chests are inappropriate for me, since those cost a bit.

Putting 2 very light smaller wrenches on the rack to show it holds wrenches when the top closes while the other rack with more weight falls, makes this look like a Sham-Wow infomercial.
    As seen on TV.
    Sham[e] on you.

Big Bear!! Hope you are feeling good, Jeff.
I really like those Olsa tool skinny little "sawtooth" wrench holders for my stationary box.
You can cut them to size, and also use the small "cut-off" pieces to support your longer wrenches. JMO

I'm looking into the VIM ecosystem. It looks excellent for sockets, and they have ways of using them for wrenches, pliers, etc. I just wonder how viable they are for things that aren't sockets. I don't need the super strong magnets since I am looking mostly at tool cart/chest storage, but it does help keep things in the right place.

I like the tool box widget but it isn’t the best for a lid/vertical hold and some of the larger pattern wrenches you might need 2 of to keep it lined up well.

Could you send this on to Harbor Freight
I want to buy your Icon tools but I wont because if I lose a wrench or socket out of a set I can't just buy that one to replace it and it also makes it so I can't warranty any of the rest of set because I don't have the full set. If you make the single pieces available online we as consumers could complete the set and you wouldn't have to take up more space in the brick and mortar store.
    Thanks, Sam

    • @denoftools
      @denoftools  12 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

The individual replacement pieces can be purchased over the phone via the service department and you don’t need the full set to warranty an individual piece. If a store manager tells you that you should call corporate because they have an official policy stating that you do not have to have a full set.
