Was Larry Diamond suffering from sleep deprivation? I swear, I thought that I was listening to Jesse Ventura's voice interviewing Hsiao.

    Too bad about Taiwan.

Without much justification, Diamond attributed Taiwan's success to democracy. However, Hsiao's response totally refuted his assertions. Hsiao's lengthy and detailed explanation of how Taiwan succeeded in containing the virus amply showed that. You take each and every factor she mentioned and it is clear there is no causal effects with democracy. Yet whenever it is mentioned in the US, it is attributed to so called democracy and liberty. In fact what Taiwan did is almost exactly what CCP in mainland did. It is not a coincidence. It is the success of the Chinese society and Chinese culture. It doesn't have much to do with democracy or communism or totalitarianism.

7:06 Sorry but no one besides you believes that China has any bit of transparency and free collaboration (not forced or owned by a few families) between the public and civil society. China suppressed the first doctors who discovered the outbreak of COVID-19 and punished other nations for stopping flights from China, which spread the virus to the whole world! These doings have everything to do with communism or democracy. Or do you think democracy means hosting elections only?

19:28 it’s funny that she’s talking about public immunity to fake news while her party is hugely responsible for producing such news lol
