I literally just told my 12 yr old son yesterday..(ABR fan as well) that although Defender has been my favorite song maybe because I heard it first (and just hearing the word defend when I think about my son) but daammnn every single time I hear Paramount I find myself more and more wanting to just randomly run outside in the street and tackle the first car to pass by🤣🤣-ABR-💪☝️
Great song. ABR is one of those bands that always stayed true to their style
They also seem to never lose that spark in their music. They've also been so consistently good.
But sadly they are a prime example of what happens when you stick to the same style.
Alot of their songs are indistinguishable from another.
Swear like 75% of their catalog is exactly the same as another song.
Aside from your Indonesias, white washeds, Marianas trench, king of sorrow, frost, lifeline etc.
It all sounds the same.

@@WoeIsLee I would have to disagree completely. Listen to Found in Far Away Places from cover to cover and then see if that changes your mind. I use this album for example because to me it is the best representation of an ABR album in which every song sounds completely different, but you can still tell all the songs are from Found in Far Away Places.
I am gonna cry for the emotions....ABR saved my life so many times, giving me the strenght to carry on and believing in something more than just our superficial lifes.

Lmfao they are possessive, captivating, exciting, powerful, all wrapped in a thin coating of emotional connection. Every song feels 100%. No holes. No room for change. Truly a band that has mastered ulta instinct of the musical world.

I haven't felt in love at first "hear" with August Burns Red in a while. I eventually dig every song but because they are complex it takes time to figure out where they are going. With this one... volume up instantly.
I second this. Each album has been more mature musically, and that's a good thing.

1. Paramount
2. Defender
3. Bones
But I feel like this album is gonna be the heaviest punch from metalcore this year so far... unlike the rest of 2020 metalcore is thriving this year
