    How does a guy who is #1 all time in TDs by a TE, #3 in yards and catches not make make the Hof on their first ballot. it doesn’t even make any sense.
    he is basically the cris carter of TEs.

    In what world is Devin Hester in the HOF but Gates is not? Who would pick Hester over Gates to be on their team? I mean... honestly the HOF has no credibility anymore.

    • @AceOfSpades7991
      @AceOfSpades7991 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hester is the greatest returner in history so he’s not even the one I’m mad about making it over Gates. Andre Johnson on the other hand….

    • @generalshepherd2209
      @generalshepherd2209 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bruh being the best return man in NFL history ain’t no grounds for HOF induction… sure he scored them return tuddies like fireworks but other than 2006 did that take his team anywhere other than the conference championship at best? He also sucked as a receiver and struggled as an every down player. And it’s not like he was some revolutionary for punt returns or that he changed the game, he literally was just picked by a biased media who takes moments of consistent, peak level performance because “cultural impact” or other poorly disguised favoritism

      Deion Sanders aka Primetime and Devin Hester shared a special mentor-protege relationship since Devin was coming out of the ‘U’ of Miami in college..
      Hester broke Brian Mitchell’s single season return records (which took him his entire eight year career to set) in less than two seasons
      Devin broke Prime’s all time total TD returns record
      #23 is still the only player to have returned the Opening Kickoff of a Super Bowl for a score (first 13 seconds of SB XLI)
      22 career return TDs (Regular season: 6 kick offs, 1 missed FG return, plus 14 punt returns; Postseason: 1 playoff kick off return)
      18 offensive TDs as well (despite being drafted as a DB originally) - 17 receiving (16 reg. season / 1 postseason) and 1 rushing score (reg. season)
      -
      11 seasons played (Bears, Falcons, Ravens and Seahawks)
      4x All Pro (2006, 2007, 2010 and 2011)
      4x Pro Bowl (2006, 2007, 2010 and 2014)
      Voted to All Decade Teams of 2000s & 2010s
      Enshrined in the NFL HOF as the only Return Specialist
      -
      The NFL later admitted that they changed the kick off return rules too much and messed with with one of the most electrifying moments of pro football while players like Devin Hester played 😅

      @@chrisrakow9745 How you gonna bring Deion, who is on a whole different level of athleticism and skill. Hester was awesome and impactful for ~6 plays a game at best. Deion could be a threat on defense, special teams, and with the cowboys, even on offense. Case closed. I will admit his Super Bowl kick return was electrifying and a cool moment, but other than that and his 20 return tds he was awful. It’s a disgrace and a slap in the face to guys like Steve Smith Sr, who leads one of the shittiest franchise in NFL history, the Panthers, in receptions, receiving yards, and td receptions by a mile, and Antonio Gates, who literally leads all TEs in ALL TIME TOUCHDOWNS. Don’t get me wrong #23 was absolutely the best at his position, no question, but if we considered special teamers, then Adam Vinateri should be a first ballot Hall of Famer, but he never will be even though he leads the league in points all time and is widely considered the best to ever do it, so why should a fellow special teamer in Hester have such an honor?

    • @chrisrakow9745
      @chrisrakow9745 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@generalshepherd2209
      Deion himself said Devin was better at returning TDs of any kind than himself (rare for Coach Prime to admit being lesser than anyone in his literal prime); He and the Windy City Flyer embraced and cried together when the new Hall of Famer broke his record while playing for ATL.
      Sanders also said that players on both sides of the ball, alumni, fans of all teams, coaches, scouts, analysts, and GMs changed how they looked at specialist returners because of #23 (Leon Washington, Josh Cribbs, Percy Harvin, Coradelle Patterson, etc can thank Devin for paving the way for returners to earn more $$! as they were now seen as multiple threats for offense/special teams).
      Kickoffs and punts were Times where people left their seats to use the washroom and/or get refreshments and concessions, but Devin Hester made those special team moments of football relevant again and the 3rd Phase dominance helped anemic or pedestrian offenses to have crazy field position because Teams became terrified of kicking to this special player. Rather wishing to spot the Bears or Falcons 30-50 yards by kicking the ball out of bounds (a stat that isn’t tracked) rather than risk a TD return opportunity
      Don’t hate on one of the literal best there ever was at any given football position
