Unpopular opinion but ecumenism is a great thing and while we see so many online rivalries, it's always very refreshing to see a Catholic content creator have a pleasent talk with Protestants, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox!
Eucumenism is good as long as we don't grant to much to the other body to the point of undermining our own traditions.which is what others are wary of especially in this current pontificate!
Ecumenism based on a consensus of truth is definitely a great thing, and that's exactly what Jesus prayed for in John 17, but notice -- only after Judas, the disconsented, had left.
@@doraemon402 the kind of ecumenism in this video helps to improve relationships. If everyone thought Catholics were elitist douchebags then no one would convert. Also, only God has a monopoly on truth. We can read Aristotle even though he wasn't a Christian because he says true things. In that same way we can also discuss with heretics if we're discussing true things.
When discussing issues of sexuality and gender with trans or SSA adults we should also make sure we have the log out of our own eye and are not committing sins of sexual immorality within our own heterosexual relationships.
Couldn't agree more, it is shocking how many pastors are vocal about these issues, only for adultery/porn addiction issues to surface after many years, hiding in plain sight. We are all fallen and all need the grace of God.
Gotta say, while I really wish they were Catholic, I have so much more respect for Coptic Orthodox than Eastern Orthodox because the Coptic Pope actually refused to permit Coptic Christian divorces and remarriages despite the government of Egypt passing a law that would force that. Eastern Orthodox still allow a person to divorce and remarry multiple times.
Hello Trent I am a young Catholic who would love to see a debate between you and Charlie Kirk about Catholicism and why it is the true church. I am going to continue asking on every single video
God bless the tradition of St. Mark the Evangelist, the holy Egyptian martyrs under Diocletian, St. Athanasius the Apostolic, St. Anthony the father of monasticism, St. Macarius the Great, St. Cyril the Pillar of Faith, the 21 Coptic martyrs in Libya in 2015, and all the rest of the saints of the Egyptian Coptic Church. Their prayers be with us all. God guide us all to Your truth and lead us throughout the way into Your Kingdom.
On pronouns, I'm in the camp of just always using singular they in 3rd person. It's been being used as a pronoun referring to unknown gender for a thousand years. It's not a big leap to just always use it
Yes God breathed on the apostles giving them the spirt and when Paul speaks with authority he speaks with the authority of the spirit that was breathed into him. When exactly did God breathe the spirit into the popes?
May God bless and protect all Egyptian Christians. The great Evangelist St Mark founded the Alexandrian Church and his relics were kept there until the Muslims spread over North Africa, when the Crusaders rescued them and took them to Venice, in North East Italy, where they remain to this day. St Athanasius, who did so much to counter the Arian Heresy in the early 4th century was from Alexandria.

Nice of you to point out that not all orthodox are the same and in the communion. Many just say"Orthodox".

Antiochian or Alexandrian? Greetings and hello!
May God unite the Catholic and Orthodox churches. Let us pray for that to happen.
The very last thing in the world Roman Catholicism needs right now is many more centuries old European churches with few parishioners to take care of.
Amen amen! To be one as Christ intended!
What about us Lutherans?

Reunification? The only way the church can reunify is for all the protestants and Catholics to become orthodox again.
Become orthodox then

Speaking to heretics without actively trying to convert them is now good? You people are losing the plot

Ecumenism is great, a lack of communication will drive us all more and more apart eventually.

You’re full of it pal the Alexandrian church isn’t oriental orthodox and the crusades actually harmed the orthodox more than helped them.
