Dear Adam, that would likely be evidence against God and the created universe. Prior to early 1900s, although it took some time for the Big Bang theory to be widely accepted later in the 20th, that (the steady state universe) was the most widespread belief among scientists. Christians - I suppose - were considered idiots for believing in a beginning when The Science had spoken... Anyway: The Big Bang theory has philosophical and theological implications. The Kalaam argument puts it somewhere along the lines that everything that has a beginning must have a cause, therefore the universe had a cause. Christians believe that this cause was God - most succinctly put, IMO, in the gospel of John: "In the beginning there was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God." This is generally taken by Christians to mean that God is an intelligence (a person) that exists outside of spacetime, matter and energy - as "the Word" or "Logos", and as is written elsewhere he spoke the universe into being. Also Christians believe that only God is eternal, as God does not have a beginning and is thus not a created being, but as Aquinas put it: God is Being itself. Everything that exists and that we can see rests on the foundational Being of God. Our language suffers a bit from the temporal issues involved. Modern science believes that time didn't exist prior to the Big Bang (creation), and when we say "before" the universe was created or "before" the Big Bang, it's strictly speaking a bit of nonsense :-) I've found this quote curious: John 8:58 (KJV) "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." It sounds grammatically incorrect, and it's still nonsense to use a temporal concept such as "before", but in my view it hints at the temporal issue. Maybe it's the best we can do with language and minds who are always trapped in time in this universe. So something like: When time began at the moment of creation, God AM". It signifies that God is Being itself, and outside of time (space, energy and matter). I'm just nitpicking for fun. Most people understand conceptually what is meant when we talk about "before" creation/Big Bang.
*"demonic possession and NDE's"* A near death experience reflects a person's beliefs. Eg, "Near-Death Experiences in India" by KS Rawat 1986. As for Demonic possessions, are you referring to misinterpreting seizures and schizophrenia? Or you mean stuff like the Enfield poltergeist hoax?

It is implied by the Big Bang. There is no "before" the Big Bang, as - if we believe the scientists - time only exists from the Big Bang and afterwards. In the Bible it's put most succinctly by John in his gospel: In the beginning there was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God". Although suffering a bit language-wise from the fact that our language is created entirely inside the bubble of spacetime, matter and energy, the meaning should be clear enough: there was only something best described as "the Word", or the "Logos" in Greek, when the universe had not been created yet. Logic is real and so is math, but let's not be silly and demand physical proof of such things. But if you can, please tell me what the number 3 weighs, or how its dimensions are. Is the number three a foot tall? And as the universe has a beginning, it must have a cause. That cause is probably God. God is the eternal being with no beginning as conceptualized in Christianity. I frequently think of God as pure math existing in a dimension that isn't ours. It why he IS truth, or Being itself, and it is simply not in his nature to deceive. Why? Because 2+3=5 everywhere. These things are hard questions, and it takes a little more than the hack philosophy that some in the comment section tries to reduce it to. Try watching some of the videos that FloatHeadPhysics has made about how we are located in space (which has three dimensions) where we can't SEE time. Although we can measure time. He has one where he makes the example of two-dimensional beings and how they would also be able to deduce or infer the existence of a third dimension, even if they could never put it under a microscope (yup, the two-dimensionals also have their hardnosed atheists :) :) :) ). Bring out your Pythagorean theorems, people!
Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is to say, “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?” Jesus has a god? Clear contradiction in the trinity.
I respectfully ask, Clear Contradiction in what?.. so you know about 3 in 1.... so jesus being 1 of the 3 talking to the father 1 does make sense right... jesus can talk to the father and the holy spirit.
Easy guys. Jesus is making a reference to Psalm 22, and anyone living in that area, at that time, would know this. It's not what you think it is. He is letting everyone know that his suffering is fulfilling an earlier prophecy. That's the danger of parroting stuff you read on the internet. Next thing you'll probably also claim that the Bible says that Pi is 3.0. :) :) :) :)
Hey man, nice video! I stopped and thought about when you asked that question about the first cause of the universe, you asked “what was before the universe then?” What if, nothing? We can know that something precedes the universe because the universe came into existence at a point in time, what caused it had to be there before it, e.g for a baby to be born several conditions have to be met, I.e a male and female have to exist which then follows that the necessary materials are exist(sperm egg), these two have to exist before the child and there has to then be knowledge about how to “cause” a baby and so on
The question isn’t so much about whether there was anything going on before the creation of the universe but rather, why IS there a universe as opposed to nothing. Because nothing cannot create something so the creator/generator whatever you want to call him/it must be unaffected by the constraints of the universe etc. You also can’t ask the “who created God question because you’ll just infinitely regress” which will mean nothing will ever exist because there’s no root.
In short, the reason we can know that there was something before the universe is because we HAVE a universe.. think about this, if nothing exists, then nothing can exist it is not possible for nothing to come from nothing, you might ask again what about God who created God, again once you ask that you’ll fall into an infinite creation cycle so you fall to one of two things, either nothing exists or something necessary exists the fact that we have something and not nothing.
@@spdomingoo _"The question isn’t so much about whether there was anything going on before the creation of the universe but rather, why IS there a universe as opposed to nothing."_ Why would you assume that "nothing" is the default? Is "nothing" even _possible?_ I'm not a cosmologist, but as I understand it, the scientific consensus only goes back to the rapid inflation of our universe about 13.8 billion years ago. That's it. Anyway:
The Big Bang theory has philosophical and theological implications. The Kalaam argument puts it somewhere along the lines that everything that has a beginning must have a cause, therefore the universe had a cause.
Christians believe that this cause was God - most succinctly put, IMO, in the gospel of John: "In the beginning there was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God."
This is generally taken by Christians to mean that God is an intelligence (a person) that exists outside of spacetime, matter and energy - as "the Word" or "Logos", and as is written elsewhere he spoke the universe into being. Also Christians believe that only God is eternal, as God does not have a beginning and is thus not a created being, but as Aquinas put it: God is Being itself. Everything that exists and that we can see rests on the foundational Being of God.
Our language suffers a bit from the temporal issues involved. Modern science believes that time didn't exist prior to the Big Bang (creation), and when we say "before" the universe was created or "before" the Big Bang, it's strictly speaking a bit of nonsense :-)
I've found this quote curious: John 8:58 (KJV)
"Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am."
It sounds grammatically incorrect, and it's still nonsense to use a temporal concept such as "before", but in my view it hints at the temporal issue.

@@Bugsy0333 i think that's why they put him there, so no one can disprove it
It is implied by the Big Bang.

I feel more at ease and peace rather than when I wasnt taking my faith seriously
Praying for safety and protection from a massive flood that reached the second floor, The flood stopped at our feet then began descending and most of our valuable things were safe with us.
