    Thanks for helping me to better understand what my Model-12 is capable of doing.

      @@RecordingStudio9 All your videos are super helpful, thanks for sharing your knowledge! Would it be possible to record your videos at 1080P so we can see more detail on the mixer, overlays and other equipment you use during your demonstrations? Also, could you find a small piece of tinted translucent material to lay on top of the Model 12 screen to give it "sunglasses" so it's not washed out? Keep up the great work! Looking forward to your next Model 12 video.

      @@chrisjohnston964 Thanks for the feedback. If every viewer of this video donated $1, then I'll be able to afford a new camera and better production. But making around $200/month from TH-cam from ALL of my videos doesn't cut it.
      Maybe one day :)

    Really great info. Very much appreciated. And also im really surprised thats how it works, i would have assumed it would start low ratio and go higher the more you turned it up. But ive never used a 1 knob compressor!

  • @ProVoiceBH

    Thanks my friend 🙏🏼 small question about this mixer, how do you rate it in terms of preamp quality? I mean in comparison with good audio interfaces (let’s say your latest Presonus interface that you bought for the studio). My worry is the noise floor / self noise of the pres because I’m planning to hook couple of dynamic mics for podcasting. Thanks in advance dear 😃

      @@RecordingStudio9 I look forward to that video too! Thanks for this great viedo it answered all my questions about the one knob compressor on these units. How does this compressor compare to the compressor on the Behringer UFX 1604. In fact how does the desk's sound compare overall to the behringer?

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JamieGFletcher They sound a lot different since UFX1604 I have is 95% analogue compared to the Model 12 being 95% digital.

    • @JamieGFletcher
      @JamieGFletcher ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RecordingStudio9 That is what I'm curious about. I have a presonus Studiolive but I'm considering getting something with an analogue signal chain. It's hard to find an analogue desk that will record post fader like the behringer will. I saw in one of your video that the tascam model 12 will also record post fader and I'm curious as to which sounds better?

  • @thadirtyabbott33

    Does anyone know what ratio it works at initially? Is it working like an 1176 where it’s an all in at like 20 to 1 ratio?

  • @YoMyNamesJakeG
    @YoMyNamesJakeG ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Damn. That release time seems way too fast. Is it program dependent? I noticed the signal you were sending was a quick blip. What if you sent it something like a ringing out bass note? Also does the compressor introduce any aliasing in the high frequencies?

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I only tested with mid-high range 4Khz tone. Not sure of lower frequencies. If I get the chance, I'll test.

    • @me_fault
      @me_fault 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      test tones can only give you a rough idea as they aren't typical of actual audio. it would be good to see result with vocals, guitar and bass as you mention.

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @me_fault You are correct, test tone doesn’t equal to an actual voice or instrument audio, but, it’s not as easy to demonstrate.

    Lets see this with the Korg MW-2408. Developed by Greg Mackie and Peter Watts. Its a comparable model at the same price point. Also with a 1 knob compressor

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The KORG has lot more mixer options but, only stereo usb to a PC, where Model 12 sends individual channels to USB and returns them back.

    hello, I ask you for information: I have 2 external effects, each has the classic line in and out (double jack for both input and output), how can I integrate it into the mixer? how many AUX are there in the Tascam? and SEND / RETURN? On the other hand, can the internal effects be managed independently?
    For the rest, I need at least 12 free channels, including a voice channel, so could be the Tascam 24 enough?
    Many thanks!
