    Alex I really dug this review. I have found sometimes in previous reviews (at least in my opinion) that you were a bit too kind about some cars' weak points. However in this review you definitely weren't shy to point out this car's flaws and I appreciate that. Keep up the good work!

    The sounds this car made from 0:30-1:00 literally gave me chills. It's quite sad that turbocharged V8s will be replacing the big V12s in time.

  • @architect119
    @architect119 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It's wrong to compare the gearbox to a PDK etc... Driving the Sportshift III in manual mode, is fantastic. The lift-off on the up shift involves you in the experience - one purposefully designed to be so. It's much more satisfying.

    ***** Can you shed some light on the plate "V12 AML" for me, I've seen it on so many different V12 Astons over the years and all the information I've been able to find about it is that it's possibly the plate the factory puts on their publicity mules for testing. Are you able to tell me whether this is true or not.
    Keep up the good work, and look forward to your up and coming videos, I've been seeing some of your guys requests for cars around some car forms here in the UK.

    • @catlee8064
      @catlee8064 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah they have had this plate for years, since the Aston Martin Lagonda (AML) i believe, though i could be wrong.

    Firstly, I rate your videos in the top 3 of any car reviews anywhere, (I watch a lot). Second this car is epic, top down in the snow, yes please. I had two RX7 Turbo Convertibles one after the other, drove with the top down year round, only bad weather was fog which was orrible! I miss those cars so much, had the most enjoyable drives touring & flat out ever, with the top off you are that bit more alive. This Aston is going on my list, rubbish gearbox n all.

    Put a manual box in it and it will be great. They put a manual in the 4.7s Vantage, which was paddle shifter only originally, so maybe they'll do it with this one too:-)

    Awesome, maybe the colour of this Vantage is not as good as the yellow Coupe, and the awkward look would disappear. I'd go for the Cab personnally. Nice to see you with hair, it's winter after all.

    What is difference between a Roadster and Convertible?

    • @gmansplit
      @gmansplit 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Technically speaking, a roadster is not supposed to have a roof at all. The Shelby Cobra is a good example. A convertible is where you can change between topless and not. However, the terms have been muddled these days to effectively mean the same thing.

    I love astons, I really do, they're in my top 2 or 3 favourite car companies but if they do want to play with the bigger boys (Ferrari, Lamborghini etc.) with this car, they have to up their game. Less weight, more power and a better gearbox

    Why are people acting like all car makers are going to stop making big flagship cars with huge and powerful v12 engines tomorrow? Yes maybe in 10-20years why act like everything is stopping tomorrow... Ferrari has just released two v12 cars. Cmon. Mercedes flagship s-class v12. The list goes on... And btw there's 00.1% of people can afford to buy these cars so why are people acting like everybody drives a v12 500+ horsepower car everyday..

    Personally I think this turbo charging lark is blag. I've just bought an M235i it's got a smaller engine than my 370z, it has a turbo maybe two actually, it makes pretty much the same amount of power and yet its doing less mpg than I was getting in the 370z. My average mph is 19.5 and I think in the 370 it was a lot more (then again I had had it a lot longer so that had time to climb) I drove that thing pretty hard. I think it's a sham. Yes V12's will guzzle the juice but personally I don't think the turbo's are making as much of a difference to the environment as they're trying to make out, yes they help find more power but all these environmental side effects, it's the stop start functions and eco modes and all that stuff that work around the rules to get their emissions down. Nothing to do with the engine and turbo's etc. The engines themselves when being driven as they should are no more environmentally friendly. That's only my opinion of course an dpurely based on the fact that I've seen no improvement in mpg etc. So I could be wrong. It's just a travesty that cars with engines like this Aston probably won't get made any more. All the technology in the world and we can't improve a V12 so it's acceptable in this era!
