The "I'd rather be with you than be free" line is literally one of the nicest things I've ever heard in a song. Not sure why. It's simple yet beautiful.
I see it more as hanging on to the memory of a girl because you're still in love. You know it may be best to let go but "I'd rather be with you than be free".

Yes we have another accent, but that’s because we know Dutch as our first language. Here, we’ll have to learn French, German and English. Since I live in Limburg, I learned the dialect Limburgs as a first language then Dutch. Now I know German since Limburgs is almost German, and now French. Thought our accent is different than Americans, us Dutch people learn a lot of languages since we’re young; and that’s what I’m proud of.

still i find that our dutch accent sounds horrible, me and all my friends can all agree that the dutch accent sucks. But ofcourse oppinions can differ. The thing with music is though that accents often dissapear since music is a whole different way of speaking, meaning that if you have good pronounciation it probaly shouldn´t be very easy to hear where you´re from when singing.
