I Get to Drive the Class 45 149 on the GWR.

Today I went to the GWR for their Diesel Gala and to drive the Class 26 but once their I found out that the loco had broken down. But the next loco available was the Class 45, So here I am having a blast. All was going well until I brought the loco to stop and forgot the air dump procedure. Doh.

Superb driving a Peak! I drove a class 52 Western several times on the SVR and later a Hoover class 50.

Wow it's noisy in there! I hadn't realised just how much noise a driver has to deal with.

This peak was in the middle of its restoration and the camera man had to sit on a box to get the angle. Lol. It was all safely fitted, the engine room door was also open slightly has they had to go in to check things during each run.
I much prefer driving the class 37 though this was another experience off the list of locos I want to drive.

Fantastic, my dad and I drove her on Saturday (holding up the service train in the process, oops!) and it was a great thing to do!
Especially as I drove E6036 3 times on Friday and D8137 on Sunday!

Notch 5 then slams on the brake. The linespeed is only 25 mph at best. No need to treat the old girl so harshly. The instructor should have intervened.
