@@TheGreyParse I always thought it was because most, if not all of the Hashira, are hard to figure out from just a few interactions. We, as the audience have had entire arcs with them so we know better.
But imagine being a guy who's barely able to hold their own against mediocre Demons, then you find out there's a whole group of monsters who are extremely strong.
Then you meet them & it's Sanemi (😅Don't think I need to explain why one would fear him), Obanai, Muichiro & Giyuu appear aloof, cold or downright scary, Gyomei keeps to himself, Tengen is flashily hard to keep up with, Shinobu is on the surface pretty cheery but has that dangerous vibe (atleast I got that feeling).
Rengoku & Misturi are pretty much the only sociable ones among that entire line-up tbh.
