Hey chaps yet another great bat rep! Man those armies are looking great. Thanks for getting some titans in action. Good to see them. Need to get mine in action myself. I’ve played against them though and I’ve found they do require a dedicated effort to get rid of the bigger ones. Warhounds you can take out fairly easily but the bigger they get the more resources you need to throw at them. Or counter with your own knights/titans. I’ve also found warhounds you can generally ignore depending on the load out they have. They are fairly slow and don’t do huge amounts of damage but they can quickly take out key assets if left alone.
Thanks very much -- we're trying to improve a little bit with each video. I think you're right about titans. Like with any other unit, they need to have a specific purpose that you've brought them for.
Thanks for the batrep! Geoff’s painting is superb! Titans in an odd place in the game, not worth taking unless for narrative effect, I am working on some house rules to make them more effective, they lack devastating firepower & resilience. I have had some success in the air battle taking a flight of three Lightnings; they can take out most aircraft using Skystrike missiles, then prey on enemy armour out of range, rolling 12+ dice depletes most units very quickly! Loved the terrain & explosion markers, looking forward to your next video!
Thank you! Jeff is a great painter, and I'm really fortunate to have him as an opponent. Also glad to hear you liked the terrain -- hopefully we'll have a greater variety to share coming soon. I think in the end I'd rather titans were a little underpowered than have them be overpowered. But I do agree that they (and knights) need a buff. Maybe giving them the 5+ void save from Titandeath would help. They should probably also have a 1+ save across the board. Aircraft are also in a funny place where they can be very powerful and yet are incredibly fragile. Sixteen Deredeos are going to lock down the airspace pretty convincingly (and cheaply).
Another great batrep! The Alpha Legion really look sharp even though it sounds like they’re still WIP. Those large buildings look really good, those aren’t GW civitas are they?
Jeff absolutely did a great job on the Alpha Legion. He also put the big buildings together from GW's civitas kits -- good eye! I'll be sure to pass on the compliments to him.
I think all of the small buildings are printed, but yes the large ones are all official GW Civitas kits. I can't speak to their quality personally, but Jeff did do a great job putting them together.
Excellent bat rep! great format and length. I really thought the SA would have this in the bag. I missed it, but did the Alpha legion infiltrate or forward deploy onto the objectives 1st turn? Holding objectives from turn 1 makes them super powerful. We play objectives only count from turn 2 onward. makes for longer games, makes outflanking, reserve and deep striking units more tactical and it feels like positioning for advantage rather than a mad grab turn 1 gives you more options. And yes, unless you both take pretty much the similar points worth of titans they are generally just not worth it.
Thank you! I appreciate your confidence in me, and I'm sorry to have let you down --this time around, anyway. :D And you're quite right, the Alpha Legion was able to lock down four objectives from turn one, which gave them twenty-one victory points a turn. It does seem like something needs to be done about Infiltrate, because as you say it is extremely powerful. Titans are a hard thing to balance, I think, because you don't want them to be dominant, but you also don't want them to be super weak. In LI anyway, I'd rather they were weaker. There's a whole game mode and a whole other game that focuses on titans if that's what we want. Maybe importing the 5+ void save from Titandeath would help
Jeff did a great job painting them. Missile launchers are very good, but I don't think they were decisive -- at least in this particular game. Maybe the mediocre performance of the titans balanced it out.
Your best batrep so far. Nice to see titans on the table. Keep 'em coming.
Thanks very much! They may not be the most effective, but I feel like titans make the game come alive.
My name is David and I agree with this message.

Comment for the comment thrown, interaction for the ALLGOROTHIM!!!.
Always love a LI battle report.
@@davidchambers331 with your help the algorithm will surely be appeased 💪

@@tacticaeimperialis-j8r oh they ARE the civitas buildings. Thought maybe they were a print from somewhere. They are tempting me to pick some up now

Always love an LI game. I would recommend more terrain though. Buildings can't be overused in this game.
We do mix it up -- sometimes we have more buildings, sometimes fewer. I do agree that a variety is necessary.

Looking at board wonder how much armies survive past 1st turn 😅
The Alpha Legion looks great but all Missile Launchers? Is this supposed to be a fun list or a tournament list?
