If you want to detract attention away from that double door "that's not a door" , I would place a tall potted plant there with an arm chair. It's a dark corner, so a fake palm or ficus, because a real plant wouldn't get enough light. Back light it with floor mounted light to illuminate the corner. That will brighten the dark and heavy color scheme, and call attention to the vignette created, and away from the door.
The unit definitely looks better in the middle, mirroring the fireplace. I have every faith in you fixing that woodchipper. As others have said Phil, we love your channel and your honesty about your feelings. We know you have had a tough few months but things WILL get better and we WILL be here, watching you working hard to improve the chateau and grounds.
Phillip you are a strong man, you do a beautiful job with your videos. It's your journey, no one else's. For anyone to critic anything is bad karma on them. Just enjoy your life- keep posting- and be blessed.

Phil, just a quick note to say thank you, you are doing a brill job with your home. As to the critters, sod 'em, they will get the message once the bushes go! And, as to the rest, well you have a great network both in RL and on here and we all have faith in you, so deep breath, chest out and keep buggering on!
I love the paler colour against the yellow...what a difference! In place of moving pads, I once moved a piece of furniture by scooting an old blanket under it and dragged it along the floor. Did I see Billy dancing in the background while you were delivering at the Convent? You are a joy to follow around Phil, keep it coming! We love you!!
Love the pale yellow ! The furniture placement in middle looks good! Yes the wood chipper will look good once you fix and paint it ! Can't wait to see the cleared out view ! ❤ bravo
You need to get some of those silicon furniture moving pads that fit under the furniture legs so you won't scratch your floors. They also make it much easier to move the furniture, helping your back.
Phil, you are hard on yourself! Looking at all your skills, you shouldn’t doubt yourself. Things work out…one way or another. Just keep going.❤️🥰❤️In the middle for that furniture.
Your burrowing aquatic vermin are a contributing factor of the moat wall disintegrating, but not the only factor. All those trees and shrubs along the waters edge are the real cause of the wall collapse. Their roots are pushing through the masonry. If you are Ernest about saving the integrity of the moat walls, You need to cut out that vegetation, which will also destroy the habitat for the critters. Two problems solved.
👍Phil, The Buffet looks great in the center of the wall. A nice Wing Back chair, lamp and little table in the corner. Maybe an ottoman as well. As I have mentioned before, your friends and all of your viewers are blessed by your kind good heart. We need more people like you in this world. Rob - South Carolina, USA
Go at your own pace. It is really important, it's not about quantity, but quality. We can wait, we can, honest - of course it's great if you could do daily, and it's brilliant no matter what. Thanks for carrying on!
Yes, looks best directly opposite the fireplace. We are real people out here with real emotions and we are routing for you❤️👏and yes, we trust you and have faith in you.

Phil you have excellent taste there's no reason to second guess yourself...I love watching you transform the rooms of your Chateau. Thank you for taking the time to include us, your viewers...looking forward to each change you make !
Be kind to yourself Phil. You are worth it. Definitely love the buffet opposite the fireplace and definitely love the pale yellow in the morning salon. You are so admired by those of us who appreciate all your hard work in your beautiful chateau. Take care xx ps have absolute faith in you and your chipper!
Phil it looks great in the middle mirroring the fireplace goes well in the room.phil never doubt yourself keep being you kind hearted person and I do hope those pests move out soon fingers crossed 🤞 take care 💕🌼🤗
The middle is much better! Wonderful piece! Enjoy your program very much. Remember that there are many people who care about you and your situation. Things do change and for the better. Good thoughts coming your way.
I like the idea of it being opposite of the fire place. Like you I like symmetry as well. Love how you continually help your friends out and then in return they help you out some too !! I wish I had a mate as talented as you that could work on machinery. I have a push mower that needs mending. I can't say enough Phil how much I appreciate the open vulnerability you express on your channel. Know that behind the comments (only the positive ones) are real people that care for you as a person. While we've never met, I feel like I know you enough to know that I would enjoy hanging out with you !! Take care. Sending positive vibes your way from Texas USA.
just an idea; I think a lot of the problem is you are having to spend way too much time alone right now. Maybe you could get in a volunteer for the summer to help you and provide some company? Putting an old quilt or blanket under furniture you are moving will make it slide easier and no scratches. What would happen if you dug out that area where the rodents are living with a digger? Or could you build a big rat trap sort of thing and put food inside, so they could get in but not out. Then you could drive them a few hours drive away from you. PS yes, the dresser would look better in the middle, and put a high backed chair in the corner in front of the doors..
Love your videos Phil. Whether it’s watching you garden, paint, fix stuff, visiting friends, whatever it may be.. Your warmth comes across in your videos.
I like the lighter colour yellow 👍 Those bloody rodents it’s going to take you awhile to get rid of them. They’re having a wonderful time in your moat with all the cover from the trees, etc. You probably know you have to cut a lot more of those trees back exposing their little hideaway. Yes to the woodchipper. The Pubs thriving 👏
The white and yellow look beautiful together. I once did my living room in a very vibrant yellow. It ended up looking like the Chinese takeaway in Only fools and horses Luminous. Needless to say it was re done pretty damn quickly. Yours looks so fresh and clean. ❤. I hope the little critters move on soon.
Phil you have a kind soul, which means worry and doubt seem to go hand in hand when someone is empathetic and caring. Just know those of us visiting each and every video you post don't doubt you and we know you can get over this hump. I always repeat, "This too will pass!" I also repeat, "Today will be a good day!" Then make it so. You seem to have a nice circle of friends, which is a gift to embrace. Keep on moving forward! *HUGS*
The cabinet is definitely much better in the middle. The corner looked totally wrong. What a beautiful grounds to walk around and the lovely sound of the birds. 😊
Phil post when you can weekly, daily, monthly we are here and enjoy your videos. So take care and Billy is hilarious, I think he was dancing in the background when you went to visit him ha ha. Have a nice day.
We enjoy your videos, especially watching Billy dancing in the background 😂 it's always good to see you guys together, you seem like genuinely good mates.
Hang in there, Phil. In a few months all the equipment will be fixed, the banks' vegetation will be cut back and they will be beautifully mulched, the critters will be moved along, you'll have one (at least) room painted, and you'll be able to sit back and have a cocktail on your terrace! One foot in front of another. Ask your bar clients if anyone wants free firewood and have a little party while you saw. Imagine a few of us are sitting nearby having a cuppa while you work. Someone is probably watching a video every hour so it's almost as if we *are* with you. 🥰
I like the cabinet in the middle better. Draws the eye to its detail so you don't notice the doors that arent doors. I would take your digger over there and start clearing all the bushes, trees and new growth to restore the moat walls and solve the pest problem.
Great video I love seeing the beautiful property around the Chateau and I LOVE the Bar!! Thanks for letting us see it in action and great job Nigel!! Yes your wood chipper will be fabulous and last longer painted less rust. Good job all around ❤
I have complete faith in you fixing the chipper. i have seen what you did with Billy's dumper and that was a miracle. i love that you put your thought processes on the videos. keep up the great work.
Enjoy your banter and adventures Phil. Thank you for making videos. Take care of yourself and don't worry about me, I will survive if you miss a few days. Cheers
I think it is great that you are truly restoring the chateau and it will be beautiful when done. Using the old equipment is a great idea as well. Getting them up and running again will be a benefit as well. Yes, you can do it. Have a great day
You could make an entire video walking around recording all the beautiful birdsong. By the way, easy way to move heavy things without scratching your beautiful old floors, is put a towel, rag or piece of cardboard under the feet of the furniture. Bonus is that you can clean the floors while moving furniture 😉
I also just started watching not long ago and love your channel. We all have bad days and its best to wait till it pass because we all say things out of frustration. So keep on going
Phil you are doing a great job with your chateau. No wonder you're are tired! Running a pub and working on your home. I love the yellow so bright and cheery. I like the placement of the hutch? What is it called? The varmints got to go they will reproduce and take over! I admire your energy for keeping your grounds beautiful. Love your videos!
Chin up! It takes a big man to say that he is feeling blue. Take your time to sort yourself out before doing more videos. Take one day at a time. I really appreciate the effort and quality of your filming and editing. I would put a chair and a side table with a lamp in the corner. That hutch looks great there in the middle. Still could put a chair and side table beside it. Looking forward to your next video, whenever you choose to release it. Cheers from Canada! 🏁
Hello again. I'm glad that you moved that beautiful furniture piece to the center. ❤. It wouldn't have gotten the attention it deserved in a corner. Love the pale yellow against the cream. ❤. You really have a lot of work cut out for you to get rid of all bushes, trees, etc. that is erroding the bank.
Hello everything looks great to bad about the rodents don't give up could you maybe move the beautiful bush ? And maybe put some felt under the furniture legs easier to move and saver on the floors. All the best and hugs 😊🎉
In the middle Phil. Looks lovely and balanced there. I wish all big pieces of furniture came apart to make moving so much easier and not break our backs.
When moving furniture, try putting an old piece of carpet under the legs and then slide it. It will skid along nicely and also ensure that you don't damage the floor. And if you don't I'm going to be on the next train over with a roll of old carpet before I have a nervous breakdown. Using this method also stops the stress on the joints of the furniture from being dragged on the floor. I think I ned to go and lay down.........
Being Honest is very good. I met you through Mr.Bill. I am still watching you, but I will check in with You. Bell and all. By the way you have a great sense of humor. Keep it😊
I’m the middle for sure . You are a great strong man and you have to keep fighting for yourself to be fine. Don’t do it for nobody else. First is you, then you, and then you again. You can do this Phil ! We all are here to support you at least a little bit. Good luck and keep the good job and good positive attitude👍👍
After seeing the magic you've performed on the other pieces of equipment, I have total trust in you repairing your wood chipper & making it look spiffy. Fresh paint makes a difference . repeat after me "Life is Good" Phil... life is good 😊
There is a form of 'normalised' depression these days and it's easy to let go and give in to the dark side of the force but that struggle is so worth it, focus on all that you have achieved, all that you have done and not what you haven't done and don't have. I won't get into how catastrophic my life has been (loss, pain, bankrupcy and physical violence) but I don't allow that to define me, I make a point of winning each day, I don't always cross the line first but I DO cross the line and give myself a pat on the back. May the force be with you xoxoxo
I try to keep your videos for the morning when I need a big boost to get up and going. I received the notification of your new video last night. This morning was made a lot better knowing I had a treat I’m store… your video!🥳 I’m a caregiver to me handicapped mom so I can’t go very many places etc… your channel along with Sean, Billy and Ryan really help. 😊😊😊
Cabinet looks nice where you put it away from the fake doorway.yes cut it all back and hire a woodchipper for a few days to clear it all, then you will have time later to mend yours.
Of course you can fix the woodchipper. Treat the rest, maybe repaint it a lovely mid-dark green so it blends with the foliage. That clearance is a big job, maybe rally the friends to help, you can pay them back with free labour later (with the bonus of bonding over work tasks). Put the furniture where it feels right, if you change your mind you can move it around later. If you have an old floor rug, pop it under the furniture feet before dragging across the floorboards. Unfortunately I am watching and commenting from the other side of the world (New Zealand).
You will have to tear down the rodants den completely. Can you use live traps to catch them critters? You seem to be a wonderful mechanic and welder Phil. Yes paint your wood chipper and take off rust it will last longer and look great! Don't be so hard on yourself Phil you are a wonderful guy.
Phil, I completely understand what you mean about overthinking and how it can be stifling. I’m an over-thinker too. I’m so happy you found the motivation you needed. It makes me really happy to know that you’re feeling the caring and support your subscribers feel towards you. All the best !! 🌼🥰
It's nice to have a support system with people who understand and encourage you. Not loving the corner...symmetry. Mirror the fireplace. It will be lovely. Machinery bat cave! lol Trust you! Lets see what you can do!
Put that table in the middle, then put a small armchair with a tiny table and lamp in the corner for a little Reading area. Then no one will think that's a doorway. Just a thought don't give up Phil. I would put a lighter color of Brownwood in there with gold for the little table. In the yellow room you need some curtains with a yellow background but it needs more color besides yellow and white in my opinion. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖 PS you will get there in the end Phil ❤ try and focus on one room at a time and finish it before you jump to another room or outside that's speaking of outside why can you not cut those branches way back and haul them off?
Phil. Your videos are great. Doesn't matter if you put one out daily or weekly. Your chateaux is beautiful and I so enjoy watching whatever improvements are happening
You can only do so much by yourself! And you have so many irons in the fire! Just imagine how you’d eat an elephant! One Bite At. Time! Keep up the good work Phil! And know you’re doing as much as you can. You’re only Human!👏🏻👏🏻🐾🐾🎊👍🏻🕊🕊
So happy to see you have cleared up the water wall areas. As I said before, I live on a lake in the US. You have to push, or poison those critters because they will destroy your water walls, and cause the water to divert into areas it is not supposed to be. Rat shot in a pistol works too! LOL In anycase, you are living a dream that we all tune in to watch, and wish for. No need to ever second guess yourself. If you weren't doing something fantastic here, nobody would watch. We love you both, and enjoy everything you share. Sending you all the best wishes.
You're as busy as a one-armed wallpaper hanger!! And you get the job(s) done! I always feel good after watching your videos, so keep up the good work. Don't worry - be happy 😃
to move furniture by yourself in the future, and to save floors from scratches: put the piece on a blanket and then just drag the blanket, so much easier. also, you can put the piece on an angle in the corner facing the center of room

Felt pads rather than silicon.
Or even just some old felt or upside down carpet remnant

great idea

I won't get into how catastrophic my life has been (loss, pain, bankrupcy and physical violence) but I don't allow that to define me, I make a point of winning each day, I don't always cross the line first but I DO cross the line and give myself a pat on the back. May the force be with you xoxoxo
The dresser looks great in the middle. It looks lovely after you polished it up. Keep going, Phil.

In the middle, glad to see you're back miss your videos
I try to keep your videos for the morning when I need a big boost to get up and going. I received the notification of your new video last night. This morning was made a lot better knowing I had a treat I’m store… your video!🥳 I’m a caregiver to me handicapped mom so I can’t go very many places etc… your channel along with Sean, Billy and Ryan really help. 😊😊😊
I love that new yellow! I like it in the middle.
Cabinet looks nice where you put it away from the fake doorway.yes cut it all back and hire a woodchipper for a few days to clear it all, then you will have time later to mend yours.
Actually Phil, a small alligator in the pond might take care of the rodents!! ☺ Then you can donate it to a zoo.
Put some big ones in there.
It looks good Phil
We are proud of
What you are doing at your chateau
It is such a lovely piece the middle of the wall is a much better location.
I like the cabinet in the middle. You can always use a tall, leafy plant in the corner to disguise the faux doors.
Yes Phil it looks brilliant in the centre - more even to both sides and not in the corner. The lawns/grounds look amazing
My thoughts exactly. Putting a chair and lamp in front of the “not doors!”
By far much better in the middle of the wall Phil.
It looks great there.
It’s a beautiful piece of furniture.
Phil. Your videos are great. Doesn't matter if you put one out daily or weekly. Your chateaux is beautiful and I so enjoy watching whatever improvements are happening
Middle position looks right 😊
Love the cabinet in the middle. I can’t wait to see you clear up the banks and run the varmints away.
You are an amazing person Phillip. I love the way you just talk to us as if we were there with you.
I am so impressed with your heart! Sometimes life is absolutely ridiculous and moving forward has no choice. You pull it off well my friend. Cheers
You're as busy as a one-armed wallpaper hanger!! And you get the job(s) done! I always feel good after watching your videos, so keep up the good work. Don't worry - be happy 😃
🎵...every little thing...is gonna be alright...🎶🎵🤗
Phil, you’re a fantastic human being. Go at whatever pace you need to, and we will all be here! ❤❤
If you put a blanket under furniture, you can slide it more easily and not scratch your floors.
I think my favorite part was Billy dancing in the rain in the background 😂
to move furniture by yourself in the future, and to save floors from scratches: put the piece on a blanket and then just drag the blanket, so much easier. also, you can put the piece on an angle in the corner facing the center of room
Such lovely furnature you have
You are a busy man, many jobs, but a bright future.. Love your place, it is so pretty and tranquil looking and sounding.
