Is Paul actually his name and did he actually pass? He looks damn healthy. He knew he was an internet sensation right? You have to have some confidence to wear socks that draw attention to your feet like that.
@@brantrichardson1949 Yes, that was Paul's real name and he passed away a year ago in Oct. We sure do miss seeing him flatfoot. He traveled to all the Fiddler's conventions and old time music conventions. The draw to his feet is the main thing Paul wanted to do because he loved dancing our heritage flatfoot dancing. I do the clogging part of our heritage. We love our heritage and trying to keep it alive.
@@brantrichardson1949 He was a good one. Quiet, but he loved his flatfoot dancing. He was not a showboat either. He loved his dancing and we loved him too. We sure did miss him dancing this past year. I am a clogger myself. I am 72 and will be 73 in June. I danced on the Kingsport Country Cloggers girl's team for years and my special man danced on the couples team. He is 83 and you would think he was about 60. We clogs and two step together every weekend. We met up again 2 years ago when our spouses passed away within 2 months. We met at the Carter Family Fold Old time bands and bluegrass in Hiltons, VA/ Southwest VA (June Carter Cash's family) about 20 miles from us. So we have been dancing as partners ever since after not seeing each other for 35 years. We love our clogging and two step dancing. It keeps us slim and fit. He is a professional horseshoe pitcher and is the #1 man in Tennessee. So he keeps busy and keeps me busy. We do not look our ages is what people tell us. We do not slow down and we keep our weight down by burning up so much sugar and calories by clogging. That is an aerobic that burns the sugar up big time. Find someone to teach you how and get involved. We must keep our heritage of these dances and our Old Time Music (must have a fiddle in the band to be called Old Time Band, otherwise it will just be called Bluegrass. It is better rhythm to clog and the Big bass fiddle keeps our beat. My daddy and his brothers had an Old Time Band when I was growing up. My grandparents were from Ireland and Scotland. My grandfather instilled my daddy and his 3 brothers to play music. He was from Ireland. My grandmother, his wife came over as a baby in arms from Scotland. She was the one that liked to dance. Now this was in the 30s and 40s. I learned music at the age of 5 and started dancing at an early music and playing music as long as I can remember. Our heritage of Old Time music and our dancing came from Ireland, Scotland, & England in the 1700s. We must keep it alive and that is what we do at the Carter Family Fold. Keeping the Old music, clogging, buck stepping, flatfooting and two stepping alive!!!! It is our responsibility to try to keep this going. We cannot lose our heritage that was brought over to us. Thanks and keep interested in this kind of dancing. Go get involved in it. I have taught classes before and still teach the younger people the basic steps. Happy Dancing to you.
