I always use this Rainex windshield washer fluid. I got some 91% isopropyl alcohol today and made me up two bottles. Thanks for the tip. I don't want my wiper Reservoir to freeze this winter!

Thanks. This may be the first winter that my windshield fluid doesn't freeze.

I heard on a trucker radio show that Isopropyl alcohol is bad and will ruin your windshield washing system over time. Instead, they said, you should use methanol (wood alcohol) which will not harm your system. I think the show was "Road Dog Trucking" on SiriusXM.

Make winter washer fluid out of winter washer fluid?

So for summer? Just buy the regular Rain X? The blue one for higher temps?

Have a lot of issues with bugs in the winter? 🤔
I can't get the winter stuff here in California like I used to back in Michigan.
That's why I'm watching this video.

I thought it was pretty funny, too, when he misspoke about the "bugs in winter," but this is a good idea. I would bet that the higher alcohol would rot your wiper blades faster, but it is a tradeoff. For better visibility I will gladly change our my wipers sooner! Thank you for the tip!

I change my wipers spring and fall anyway.

My wipers get all stove up from winter anyway.

Try buying 3, add 1/2 alcohol to 2 and a drop of red food coloring to differentiate between them.

Just purchase the good stuff and get it over and done. The lowest temperature that you can find. Get the rainx if you want, they sell low temperature.

Title should be, “How to extend your Wiper fluid”.
He has 2 gallons of Wiper fluid.

Ice melter used to clear windows has 3-5% antifreeze and would be a better tip than adding more alcohol to prevent freezing.
