    .....I worked for the Pearl Factory,in Honolulu,in 1984. The Oysters were kept in formaldehyde,to prevent spoiling,and I hated the smell.

      But are they real ?? I just got mine from the pearl factory a few days ago and my fiance and i decided to put it in a 14k white gold diamond setting and becane my engagement ring.I love my ring but, Im just afraid the pearl will go bad or something due to the bad reviews ive read...

      Adriana Guerra - We had one of these pearls turned into a gorgeous ring. I wear it every day, it's been a almost exactly 1 year, and so far, it still looks great!

      Adriana Guerra I do. I probably shouldn't, but I'm a stay-at-home mom with 5 kids, as you can see 😊 I'd probably lose my rings if I took them off every time I used a cleaning product. I am pretty good at removing it before doing the dishes and showering though

      Adriana Guerra when you buy one, it comes with a little pamphlet that tells you how they're made. They're real, but a piece of a mollusk shell is surgically placed in the oyster while it's still living, and the oyster produces the pearl over a few years. They're not 100% natural, but they sure are real! I got one today and it's a beautiful shade of pink.
