      @@guitar_george seems like a good guitar if you want a strat but not what fender offers. I think the humbucker is supposed to be underwound considering nicks style but that’s just a guess.

    These are great, I have an Atomic Frost one. Have you made any adjustments to the tremolo arm? Mine feels a bit loose. I am wondering if one of those Fender tremolo arm springs would help.

    • @guitar_george
      @guitar_george  ปีที่แล้ว

      The arm itself? There's an adjustment screw on the back of the bridge

    • @RyanMcQuen
      @RyanMcQuen ปีที่แล้ว

      @@guitar_george yeah, even with that screw fully tightened the arm doesn't feel completely secure.

      @@guitar_george got the Fender tremolo arm springs, they didn't really help. Mine was used so maybe it got worn in too much. Still a great guitar though!

      @@RyanMcQuen An old trick we used to use if when we inevitably lost the springs back in the day was a thin strip of masking tape around the bottom of the trem arm makes it fit like a glove and still able to screw/unscrew

    Is this a more "saturated" pink than the shell pink from fender?

    • @guitar_george
      @guitar_george  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! I'd say it's closer to the PRS silver sky "Roxy pink"

    Great review and playing/demo✌️💜😀😊
    Is the headstock heavy, is the guitar well balanced 🤔👍
    I remember lusting after a Schecter Strat in the late 1970s/early 1980s, they were rare in these parts, in a glass case ala a scene from Bill and Ted. Iirc it was pink too with a Birdseye Maple type neck (I'd never seen that before at the time - then, iirc Mark Knopfler had one, in red), but it was a long time ago (so I could be wrong), looked like a Strat but much better build quality (Fender and Gibson USA ranges, in the UK, at that time? Not great quality at all). I had a pink Hohner Strat at the time (great guitar wish I'd never sold it, my first electric, just needed better machine-heads), I then bought Japanese super Strats (build quality was better than US at the time and they were cheaper in the UK too - pick ups were weak though, so I started fitting various Seymour Duncan SCs and HBs) I've still got two, a standard tobacco burst and a System One twin HB that I've hotrodded.
    But I still hanker after a Schecter, like yours, or a MV6.
    I've a custom built Simon Law, to my spec (neck shaved to similar thickness as on yours) and may even be prepared to sell that😳🤔🤔✌️💜

      @guitar_george  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your kind words!
      The Balance is good, no neck dive on the one I have but I assume every guitar will be different. I haven't played strats with that problem though, for me that's more of an SG thing. MV6 looks pretty sweet too. Couple of things I think could be better on this guitar are the electronics, pots and switches. They don't feel premium but they're good enough at this price range.

    why you said you'd get the sss when the h s s has coil tap on bridge? is the coil tap and real single coil that different?

    • @guitar_george
      @guitar_george  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question, it's not quite the same as a true single coil. Doesn't have the same clarity or quackiness. The humbucker sounds ok with tons of gain but that's it. I may switch it out and make a video on the process

    Played a Mexican Strat, Silver Sky Se, and this Schecter today. I’ve had no luck with Schecter lately. But then today this one came in my guitar shop and it was amazing. If I had to rank what each model did best. The Silver Sky was light, small, easy to play. But very noisey and it’s unconventional radius actually made it kind of odd to play. The Fender was the feel you’re all used to. It’s the standard. But that’s it. No flash nothing special. The Schecter had the look, the feel, and the tonal possibilities that neither the Fender or the Silver Sky had. The biggest downfall of the Schecter, it didn’t come with a gig bag. At that price point no gig bag is totally unacceptable. The Silver Sky is $50 cheaper and had a gig bag new. Fender is know to be cheap, but Schecter really should’ve included a gig bag
