A good idea is to call the site closer to the time of booking and confirm all is ok and take note of the person spoken to at the site. If you're going to lie atleast make sure theres no come back which'll just lead to poor publicity and loss of future business.

Hi paul & clare Sorry to here the bad news we had a similar situation is well but I can highly recommend cherry Cottage cl in dorset we go there regularly Lynn an jon are lovely hosts and lovely pub near by 5 min walk from site

Wonder why the CL doesn’t have photos. Happened to us, only realised we weren’t on a CL as on the day on the day of travel the owner e-mailed to say pick on pitch 6 to 26!
Crazy! To be fair we always stay at CL sites and in a way I’m glad they cancelled prior to travelling then I would have hit the roof after a 3 hour journey! But the site we stayed at is right next door so it was lucky we got a pitch
Is is likely they subsequently got a much better group booking (5) pitches, and thought they could just bump you off as airlines sometimes do. Unethical but some do it.
I think you could be right it’s just for people who travel down and are not informed also and get there and find out it’s been double booked, it appears that there’s no real booking system for this site just a bit ad-hoc! Thanks for watching
Unfortunately anyone can accidentally double book but tell the truth, why say it's the electrics? Maybe booking more so they don't have nobody or friends arrived. we've witnessed that at Looe CAMC a few years ago! Still hopefully your holiday was enjoyable. we live in Wareham Dorset and didn't know that CL was there lol. Hope it hasn't put you off Dorset. 😊
Hi Claire no we absolutely love Dorset! And the site we stayed on is next to the one we was meant to it’s just behind Corfe castle on the bend just before Kimmeridge bay..Wareham is a lovely town..yes feel a bit let down to be honest as there was no need to lie!
@paulandclareontour9513 Crackmoor farm in Sherborne is nice. Just a field, water and EHU but easy access and only £15. Il we have recently returned to caravaning after a 7 year break and visited Crackmoor around 3 times a year, unfortunately the farmers live 10 mins away now ( Greg's mum now lives on site) so it's not quite the same but still a cheap break.
You'll be lucky to get a reply from the C&MC. They're just acting as booking agents for the CL's, taking a slice of the booking fee in return. They'll maybe give you some sympathy but nothing else.
Paul/Clare just discovered you and subbed. Hoping to get a moho soon. Disappointing isn't it but it's life, someone once said to me don't get wound up by stuff that you can't change, it'll make you ill. All the best.

Its not a double booking, its getting a higher price booking nearer the time. Had it done to me by a hotel recently, they also lied. Leave a detailed factual review explaining what happened and let others decide. Businesses that do this must understand that behaving like this has consequences. There are many sites and hotels that would not dream of doing this.
Nice one everybody needs to name and shame, this is our hard earned cash.

We are regular CL stayers and always book either via email or text and phone call..
Just don't lie, honestly makes you a better site . Happy you was sorted but that's not the point 😢

We have been there couple years ago very untidy site and ended up with 7 caravans and 2 tents shan't be going back there again.
Looks like you are getting better weather down in England Only 50C today 3 inch rain in Aug - fed up with the weather in this country

Had problems where sites use more than one booking method such as a campsite one & air B&B.
They dont all "talk" to each other apparently.
