yknow my brain ignored the video twice, but i read the title and i genuinely appreciated that you wanted to share something that meant a lot to you with us, regardless of what the views might be like. youre such a genuine dude.
I appreciate that about him. I caught his Wii Sports videos and was like, "This garbage is what we used to do on TH-cam." I'm not subscribed, but I'll click occasionally and check out what he's doing.
I wanna see the circus area. I had the PC game, and at the time, PC didn't use full 3D, so the gameplay leaned away from traditional gameplay elements like platforming. The circus area in the movie was always so fun the way they took city life and translated it to bugs. Nevermind. Just got to the city part of the video and can tell I'd be disappointed. The 2D game ironically did it better.
9:34 there's a fable about an ant and a grasshopper, where the ant is busy collecting food in the summer while the grasshopper just idles around playing on his fiddle all day. In the end the grasshopper has to come begging the ant for food in the winter because he didn't collect enough food for himself
"It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for the winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. And also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?" ~Philip J. Fry
Given that mosquitoes are also "bad guys" in the film, I'd say they probably just picked bugs that are pests to humans, to make it easier to hate them. Which is pretty ironic, cuz you'd think a movie called "Bug's Life" would be about... I dunno, appreciating bugs. Not all mosquitoes even bite people, and its not grasshoppers' fault that we plant mile-wide fields of nothing but high-calorie foods. Also pretty funny how the enemies in this game explode into gorey bits when you kill them. Don't remember that from the movie. Did whoever made this game even watch the source material, or were they just given a vague synopsis of the plot and some character art? Fucking lol.
@@bugjams bugs life is made by same company who later started making those world famous Lego games so characters blowing into bits is pretty normal to them
This warms my heart to see him playing a game that’s is his favorite. I still replay some of my favorite games (Rage) but sometimes it breaks my heart knowing that quality of a game is long gone.
My brother and I got stuck on Cliffside as kids too! We rented this game maybe 15 times and would always just play until that level, fail over and over again, then just return the game
I had this game as a kid, good times. The gold berry is the best weapon hidden in each level, your berries reset to red every level and the collectibles are just to unlock bonus movie scenes. You also have to complete the game without game overing, otherwise you have to restart the whole game again from level 1.
Omg I remember. While watching I was wondering why on earth I couldn't get past the "bug bar" part as a child, and now I remember, this game is a soulslike. Jfc
i know this is supposedly a kids game but this was entertaining ash for some reason PLEASEEE do more of these bugs life vids they’re so whimsical and fun 🙏
I honestly can say this video brought a genuine smile to my face. I too, played this game very young and like Poof, it was one of my firsts. The music stuck to me as it was so unforgettable. Years later, here I am back watching it and remembering those exact moments. Thank you for this video Poof, genuinely.
Omg, I have been wracking my brain for soooo long trying to figure out this background music in your videos 😂 I LOVED this game growing up. It is one of the most fun frustrating games haha
The old mascot of Traveler's Tale is a racoon. Named; "Quentin Cerebellum Townsend the Third". The still logo was designed by Rodney Matthews, who also designed the original version of the 1996 Bizarre Creations logo. He was the mascot for a lot of older classic SEGA/Marvel and Disney as well as two Crash Bandicoot games between March 1995-22 April 2005. I remember seeing him for the first time on Sonic 3D Blast thinking he was some sort of hybrid! According to Burton, the logo was ultimately retired in favor of the current TT logo because the details blur together when moved past at high speeds, making it illegible. Sucks we don't get to see him anymore. He was a quirky fellow. ALSO THE GRASSHOPPER DUDE SCARED ME SO MUCH AS A KID IN THE MOVIE WHEN HE STARES WITHOUT SAYING A WORD.
Oh my god, I remember playing this as a child. I completely forgot about this memory. What a lovely reminder. I do own a PS1, maybe I should look into getting all these games I played as a child and giving them another go as an adult.
Played this game in my most formative years of video games as well. The nostalgia around this game is something I can only usually relate with my brothers. So glad to be able to relate with someone else in this experience!
Man, any time I hear you use songs from this game my heart gets happy. It means a lot to me too, even my childhood dentist used to have this as a game to play in the waiting room. Loooove it so much 💜
Oh my god the way my heart swelled seeing this in my subscriptions. This game means the same to me, this was also one of the first video games I played as a kid, and I'm so glad that someone else resonates with how nostalgic this game is.
Totally relate to the love for the game soundtrack - sometimes I play/watch videos of my favorite childhood game, "My Fairytale Adventure" on the Wii, just to hear the songs I love ❤
My mom used to rent me this game from iggle video when I was in elementary and only beat that cliffside once. I also didnt have a memory card, so I would start over every time I got to play
Me and my friend WERE JUST watching this movie, we’re only halfway there though. I’ve already finished it, I was just showing it to a friend, so don’t worry about spoiling. Can’t even believe this was your first game, Toy Story is my favorite movie and this is almost related to Toy Story, and more Pizza Planet references. This reminds me of being stuck on Finding Nemo levels on the PS2
This was also one of my first ever games I've played as a kid. It was also one of my favorite games and thought it was soooo hard that it took me about 4 years to beat it. I actually still have my original ps1 and this game still to this day and I played this game about 2 years ago. It was so nostalgic and it's still as fun as it used to be to me.
So glad this game is getting recognition, I played this game as a kid on my family’s old box computer from the 1900s that we had to used a physical CD disk for. I occasionally hear this song used as background music and it brings back memories
Honestly same, this is pure distilled nostalgia. Would you ever maybe do a medievil video? I have fond memories of that game, especially the carnival area
i'm so glad i'm not the only one who played up until the dandelion over and over again. seeing that there's more game after feels like a fever dream formed from my own childhood stupidity
Omg the memories are coming back, I remember this game, and the 101 Dalmatian game, Spyro, Lilo and Stitch, Rachet and Clank, Jax and Daxter, Need for Speed, GTA San Andreas😅
I feel the same way about this game! It’s so nostalgic for me and also one of the first few games I played. I also absolutely love the sound track especially the first levels song. It’s funny because we also got to the same level confused as hell on what to do and gave up. 😂
The soundtrack for this game is one of my favorites. It was composed by two composers - Andy Blythe and Marten Joustra. They composed for a few other ps1 era games. Notably Muppets Race Mania, Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Vortex and Toy Story 2.
Dude, I remember when you first played this. It was like a 10-minute video and it was so calm about it. You have to go way back though to see it. When he first started.
I remember playing this but never getting past the red rocks. Other than that, glad to know I'm not crazy knowing I've heard the soundtrack in your videos.
I remember playing this on my ps1 and I reached the boss level of where there's this big giant fly, and I lost all my lives and ended up getting a game over and it started me all over. I hated that some games back then didn't have a save button so you couldn't save your progress instead of taking you all the way to the beginning
If Poof hadn’t told me that the music was from the game, I wouldn’t have thought anything of it because of how often he uses it. But I mean, the second one is a certified banger.
We all like to reminisce about games we played in childhood, I played sonic riders on ps2 and instantly get nostalgia of me replaying the first races since I didn’t know about the memory card 😅
i was excited to play this game again, and now if any of you were wondering where some of my songs come from, now you know
background music !! 👍
yup
woahhh
Guess I'm not sleeping tonight
I understand now

I watch literally everything he plays regardless of what it is lol. He’s an entertaining dude.
I appreciate that about him. I caught his Wii Sports videos and was like, "This garbage is what we used to do on TH-cam." I'm not subscribed, but I'll click occasionally and check out what he's doing.
I love how genuine Poofs "ow" at 5:31 sounded, like he just felt what happened in the game😂
for real 😂😭😭 always so funny
Poof playing game of the year 1998 is something I would never witness.
its a glorious time indeed
cant believe bugs life was one of poofesures first games 😭😭
FIRST
it lowkey makes so much sense
It was one of my first games too.
It’s one of mine too! It’s amazing!
this and the emperors new groove game were the best lmao
I’m definitely in favor of you beating this game. Considering the importance to the channel it’d be really cool.

Nintendo GameCube intro too

Is this where the grasshopper mii was inspired from?
Grasshoper*
I need him to answer this
No he just looked up cool miis you can make for his Tomodachi series
@@RCisMe64no grasshoper was around before then

omg i remember being able to RENT video games!
3:18 The FLIK letters give you an extra life, the only way to get them in the game
unc’s reminiscing
😂😂😂😂
Poof really said "sit down nephew, I got a story for you" 🙏😭
unc looks back to the good old days
This, Rayman, and Spyro the Dragon were the three original PS1 games I had as a young lad. Jesus, nearly 30 years ago.
Been subbed since 2020(tomodachi/elisa beef days), i miss this poof, no unnecessary ear wape, just vibing playing old low-res games
Amen
Watching him continually walk past the hanging vines you were obviously supposed to climb hurt me

This game is my childhood. The music and Flik's sayings live rent free in my head.
Also, I love how the first boss has final boss music. Ha.
Cause as a kid, playing unassisted, he probably *was* your final boss, lmao
i'm so glad u came back to this game. this game also my childhood, so i'm so happy u posted this
I literally have the sound track to this game stuck in my head all the time
i know this is supposedly a kids game but this was entertaining ash for some reason PLEASEEE do more of these bugs life vids they’re so whimsical and fun 🙏
god this brings back so many memories, we need more PS1/PS2 playthoughs, Poof
Man…unlocked a deep memory seeing the old Travellers Tales
I honestly can say this video brought a genuine smile to my face. I too, played this game very young and like Poof, it was one of my firsts. The music stuck to me as it was so unforgettable. Years later, here I am back watching it and remembering those exact moments.

This and Toy Story 2 took so many hours of my childhood sitting in front of the CRT tv just running around did not expect so much nostalgia

I always recognized that bugs life music in your videos and thought "wow that's a deep cut" It was one of my childhood favorites too!
I **NEED** more ps1 playthrough from poof
A Bug's Life is a great film 🐜

its weird how a game that i hold dear to my heart and a game poofesure holds dear to him from being young both have the same developer heh

This is so nostalgic. I had the demo for this and played it over and over.
Poof just talking about this game and how much he likes it is very nice and endearing
I remember playing this on PlayStation 1 back in the early 2000's. I feel your nostalgia.

i thought it was from wii sports

Holy shit I never expected you to play this game again
Dude I remember playing this on the n64. I promise I’m not an unc, just played this rly young
I just played this game the other day. This was one of my dad’s old ps1 games and it’s one of the few I actually like.
This soundtrack reminds me of the Disney fairies game soundtrack - very similar tune and instruments

poof this game means a lot to me too, i played this with my bro as a kid and i always recognized the music in the bg of your videos!
I'm glad to finally know where Poof got the psychedelic jungle music he always uses lol
That PS1 intro really brought back some core memories

Hey Poof where can i find an album for the soundtrack of this game?
Not poof but, search A Bug's Life PS1 Soundtrack and you will find the songs
I grew up with this, Army Men and Toy Story 2 on 64, simpler times for sure
Damn I played this first level as a super young kid so many times man the nostalgia hits
You’ve unlocked a core memory. I never got off the tutorial though.
hearing the music made my jaw drop ive literally been wondering what niche background music this guy has been using like the entire time
The PS1 intro is iconic and so nostalgic
