- Our little guy Neil Diamond gave us quite a hard time taking a bottle . Luckily, I have a friend we call the goat guru and she showed me the best trick ever ! It was the one thing I never saw when I was researching tips ... but I’m going to share it with you ! How to bottle feed a baby goat.

THANK YOU DO MUCH! I brought home 2 tonight that still have the umbilical cords attached and the female seems a little younger and smaller. She ate an ounce and a half and stopped and would not take the bottle anymore. I knew she had to be hungry. Your tip of covering her face was the miracle trick! She went to town on the bottle and to sleep with a full belly! God bless you and yours!
Oh good ! Sometimes a bottle baby can take some time to adjust but those little tricks can be a game changer . I’m glad your littles are eating !

Thank you so much!!! We have been struggling for a day. The mother goat absolutely refuses to feed and trying to catch her has been hard. We couldn't get our baby goat to latch, but the wiping of the butt help us so much!!!

To Cute they are so fun as babies, Its been 35 years since ive bottle fed a kid baby goat fun to watch, 14 years ago i got to bottle feed a baby Bengal Tiger the baby goat was more fun.

Interesting, I never knew that a baby goat was that involved, having only raised calfs, definitely seemed to drink good once he got startled, it would have made good video showing Mike doing the wiping
Yes definitely a bit more stubborn.... you can see his hand doing but he was the camera man too
You guys are so funny..if they are hungry they will eat..haha..but great job for the first kid. I use baby bottles from dollar store..yes you have to cut the whole bigger. I am seeing more babies in your future..haha
He wouldn’t suckle for anything until my friend showed me the butt trick ! I’ll definitely do goats in the future ... they are fun !

Nothing to be sorry about ! With all the usual tricks he still wouldn’t eat . The butt trick was amazing ! All the reading and talking to my goat friends it hadn’t come up ... I just hope it helps one person who’s freaking out cause their kid won’t eat 😂

Syd you can use this recipe if you run out or can't get goats milk.
1 gallon whole milk (homogenized)
1 can evaporated milk
1 cup buttermilk
Take the gallon of milk, and pour out about 1/3 and set it aside
Pour in the 1 can of evaporated milk and the 1 cup of buttermilk into the gallon then pour to the remaining milk that you set aside until you reach the top. Mix gently each time before making up a bottle.

If you have nothing else some people swear by normal store bought cows milk. If prefer something closer too but I've heard way better results from cow store bought milk versus replacer formula. Dawn didnt like the replacer when we had her. And for me a fed baby was better than a hungry baby some ended up using the cow milk. She probably would have liked goats milk if at the time we first got her we had it but unfortunately couldnt get it at the time.
I use a Shoe Horn and a stick......Court Adjourned !!!

Hi! Great video! Just had to bring in a baby that has no eyes and was rejected by her mama. The part where you were going to rub the butt was cut out so you are just simply rubbing in a circle or? She is eating but having a hard time figuring that out. Oh and her name is Petal, her mamas name is Daisy 💙
Oh how sweet… you just wipe up like a licking motion the mama would do with a paper towel to help stimulate them to latch and drink.

And if you know anybody that needs cedar posts stripped clean of bark.....put some Boar Goats on 'em. Cedar bark is like candy to them. All the Cedars in that Pasture are stripped clean as high as they reach.

Microscope your food. I've seen some sick cows that won't produce milk because of firefighting foam.
