I thought it felt rigged for Zen. It's so much easier to clip in 1s than 3s, and most of Joyo's were 3s. Joyo still won tho

weren't those Zen highlights specifically from his 1v1 winstreak on Johnnyboi's stream? I still think overall Joyo has better mechanical goals, but that wasn't a fair montage to judge Zen from.
Most were from salt mine 3. But those he only posts from tournaments or showmatches

Zen has a more consistent and strategic approach.
Joyo is definitely flashier and his clips are more insane, but Zen has the most pure control of his car out of anyone in the game. While Joyo can hit crazier clips, Zen knows his car better and always takes the most efficient path to score.

@@IncineroarBestPokemonit depends on your definition of mechanical. if its how complex of a shot you can score, joyo is more mechanical. but if mechanical is your overall control over your car and the ball in all types of situations, zen is more mechanical.

Well This clips are 1v1's zen, so when you're playing 1v1 you have to be 100% effective if u want to win. That's why Zen doesn't do freestyle, just mechanics which you have to learn if u wanna be in ssl or more.
But they play really good.

You know if you show Joyo play to Zen and ask him "can you do that?" Zen would probably answer like "Why? I can score this sh*t much easier and faster"
Warning: wall of text. I analyse differences in types of mechs.
I have to agree joyo more flashy mechy, but I think a huge arguement for zen's "all-round" mechs is he's often challenged in these clips and pulling these shots off even while having options to do other things if he was not challenged, and recover afterwards as well.
Seems with the joyo shots that a defenders are often "out of position" when the goals are shot" and perhaps better opponents could shut down some of those shots, and recovery for joyo is rarely an option after the shot (should it not go in) - so the shots have hidden issues to their value.
Also the consistency of these shots is a huge indicator for who's more mechy. If you discard "peak shots" (which often have partial luck involved), then which of these players can play more consistently at this high level, and that would probably be Zen from what I've seen these last years. So it feels weird to reduce mechanics to purely "peak-clips-unsaved" without being able to measure the consistency of the player, and the defencive capabilities of the opponents per shot.
I mean, even just the question of having multiple shot placement options during the drible is very impressive from Zen and doesn't necessarily "register as mechanical" because those potentials aren't seen or used, but anybody who plays RL a lot knows how difficult it is to not only execute "one cool flashy shot", but also reacting underways to defenders and adapting the shots.
In this sense I would say zen is more mechanical in the "consitency & options-per-attack" areas of the game, whereas joyo is more "flashy mechanical" with the coolest clips
Joyo remains more entertaining and impressive for clip videos though. I dont think either player can match the other in their respective mechanical strengths. Out of the two, I think Joyo would still by a small margin win the "most mechanical" title, but again mechanics is a wider topic than "peak clip compilations".

To put it in super OG Cod terms "wins over spins" Zen does things you can do but 20x faster, regardless of how fancy the goal is it's worth 1 point. Zen also plays more "mechanical" in 3s where the misdirection of air rolling (spinning) matters more. Zen all day
Quick edit: obviously the ability to do freestyle like mechanics has it advantages I just see the ability to play just as good from the wall/ceiling as you do to the floor as more impressive

For me, being mecanical is to be able to control you'r car and the ball, in a game where you have to beat opponents and score to win, a mecanical player is a player that can be the more efficient with his car and the ball to beat the opponents and score, so after that, zen win's it, it's a matter of words at the end
Its more fair to compare the season when zen became pro and the same season for joyo.
Zen hit clips more often than joyo in rlcs, even if joyo seem a bit more creative or flashy

Joyo was originally a pretty well-known freestyler before joining the pro circuit, so he's automatically gonna have insane mechanics, and some of the best out there. Zen doesnt have the same background so it's not a fair comparison, like others are saying. Zen is an IQ player, which is why he's recognized as one of the best and has had so much success so far, especially compared to Joyo. Both great players, but IQ>Mechanics

Zen adapts to any opponent to dominate, Joyo relies on freestyle mechanics to beat his opponents. Zen is the better player, but Joyo takes mechanics medal.

i kinda feel like zen hit his peak/he was most entertaining to watch back in the last worlds. at 11:04 i feel like he would have got a reset off the ceiling instead of just a touch back then. I think he is a better player all round though. Even if he gets a bad touch he can recover and continue.

Watch some RLCS man, you'll see a good amount of him although he's not really at his peak right now with Moist. When the team was Queso and he was with Rise and Vatira, he was probably at his best (for 3s competition, not necessarily mechanics)
