  • I didn’t even know what product management was when I was in college. It wasn’t a major, and there were no classes I could take on the subject. Today, not much has changed , but it's the hottest jobs on the planet! In this video I'll share a story of a time that I interviewed at Uber - The question I got asked, how I answered it, and some pitfalls to avoid.

I'm an ex-Uber SDE intern. Interacting with the PMs at the company got me really interested in this field of work! I think a deep understanding of the customer perspective is super interesting. I did not expect that complete 180 in your interview, but it makes complete sense if we started from the customer's perspective!

Great suggestion - I always get a little too worried about giving them the answer they want, but really I should focus more on thinking big, and ensuring that I'm asking enough questions about the customer

    Good stuff.
This approach could work for Business (systems) Analysts interviews as well.
I’ve found often recruiters and hiring managers are interested in your approach to interviewing stakeholders and what your opinion is on people who want to solution. (Like how do you bring the conversation back around to finding out more about the specific challenge that needs to be fixed).

So product design isn’t about designing a product for the company’s problem it’s about designing a solution for the customer’s problem

Similar question as @Abu S. did you get on offer? Also what was the interviewer's response to your approach to his fridge question?

Does this youtube channel help you get interviews? Or is it just something you like to do on the side for extra income + to educate people?

I would hope that it helps people get interviews! I do all this for free in my spare time to help people with their careers and their mindsets.
