"Pizza Margherita" is not funny, so they made fun of Nehellenia simply for her accent and her culture, which is frankly xenophobic and stupid. Nehellenia reacted as best she could, simply by playing the game, albeit confused and probably a little hurt. Kitty and Ru were extremely rude and the whole scene was very hard to watch.
@@AndreaBevilacqua-z6i Xenophobic, my thought too. And since it looks like no-one is really connecting with Nehellenia, it seems harsh that she isn't even given the space to answer Rupaul's question. This is a strange cast and production and editing is not helping at all. I hope Nehellenia gets her redemption if she is allowed to stay on. Her runways have all been VERY impressive! Great taste and creativity level.
I'm struggling to find a cultural barrier that's making it lost in translation especially since Kitty is trying to go online and give examples of it being used but like... We know what cow means, we saw how you delivered it, and it wasn't tongue in cheek or shady. You clearly intended it as we interpreted it, and if you didn't then you gotta figure out your delivery, Kitty. It's like the C word for Aussies, that's as much a term of endearment as anything used in the right connotation but Kween said it exactly as we were meant to interpret it so... Eh? Rough.

The unfair judging and favoritism for Alyssa, Kween, and Kitty is disheartening! We need to see these international queens get their flowers not get overly criticized and then sent home! Kitty with her poor taste and basic wardrobe needs to zip it and all these queens need to stop bullying Nellehenia!
The tears can be accumulative: she knows some queens don’t like her, she knows she was shafted by the judges, she is feeling isolated on a crowded stage. That would make anyone cry. Some of the queens are being unnecessarily mean to her.
Yes! And even while she was crying, she was just quietly trying to work on her garment. And these queens are acting like she's wailing in their faces and blowing her nose in their wigs

Yes! It felt like one of those things where you are upset by a lot of different things, and then the smallest frustration is what finally drives you to tears. My heart ached for her (also, she never said it was ugly! Just that she didn't know how to work with the materials!)
Nehli was literally voted Miss Congeniality of her Italian season. So the shade coming at her in the show is wild. P.s. I always appreciate that Bussy presents both sides of the coin in all situations in her reviews Cus we all get caught up in our feelings and seeing the other side of the coin is fair.

Love Tayce and she was undervalued in her season even if she did make it to the top. She's an amazing person and queen. Gala is a wonderful queen who is not being recognized for any of her talents. (should have won the talent show she did, IMHO). And, I think we're seeing Ru and crew prepare to continue to devalue her and put her in the bottom again... ☹ ¡No me gusta!

I haven't like many of the Aussie queens. They seem to be some of the nastiest people on the planet. Just mean, nasty gossipy, and a lot of them are racist. I stopped watching at like season 2 ep 3. I hate when queens think they have to act a certain way because they think that's what women are like and its a terrible form of misogyny. The Kiwi queens have all seemed nice though, guess Kween wanted to break that streak.
I’m furious about the way that Kitty has represented her country. I’m British. This is embarrassing and shameful. This season will be remembered for favouritism, bullying and racism. Dreadful!
Compare with Cheryl Hole, very recently in Canada Vs The World. I hope people saw that, it was a really very entertaining international season. What a difference. Cheryl was never mean or bitchy, not even when she noticed some of the queens didn't like her drag. Cheryl was very likable the whole season, in my opinion.
I think that the producers want to produce a narrative where Nehellenia is "bad" or "unsufferable"... but they are not doing a good job. Maybe Nehellenia IS not likable (which is unlikely), but since the producers are not showing anything to back up their claims, Kween and Kitty just give a bully vibe.

I wont get into spoilers so iykyk but yeah this storyline is just not making sense at all if the spoilers are reliable. RPDR storyline has truly declined for a while now. My theory is the BAGS weren't brought from home, but that the queens did bring some material they were asked to bring because I cannot imagine Kitty being so fucking pissy about Nehellenia being stressed about the materials if she hadn't had some investment in it.

Kitty has a nerve calling anyone names and needs to have a seat. She is really lucky to be safe a lot (rigged) because if they actually had to judge her looks she would have been in the bottom several times.

I normally avoid commenting on queen’s behaviour on the show because it’s high pressure/can be edited. This episode made me physically uncomfortable and all I could think about was the child like bullying you’d see in high school. I really hope Nehellenia feels the love & appreciation from the fan base. I’m from the UK and I’m really disappointed in how Kitty has handled herself, we all as queer people have had sly comments/ people targeting us so it’s very disappointing to see them being so mean.

I was happy they probably rigged the season for Alyssa, she deserves to be in the Pantheon os winner but after all this, the only redemption this season could make is crowning Nelly or Pythia
This would make sense if they would have given Nehellenia at least one win so far, and she was a close winner in two episodes, and based on spoilers, she does well in the Snatch Game but does not win, so this is not making much sense TbH. She might be top three and send home Kitty, because Nehellenia is definitely a better dancer than Kitty.
Same! She was so sweet, charming and funny on UK s3. But now she is just being Mean, Rude, Hateful, Attacking, Downgrading and Making Fun of Nelly. It's giving very much middle school mean girls.

As an italian who has lived and dated in the uk for a few years, i can attest that I was considered overly sensitive and the coldness of British people made me cry more than once. I think in italian culture its normal to share your feeling looking for support and that openess freaked out most Brits
As a Brit I do not claim that coldness (I also disown Kitty). I cry ultra easily... to the point I seem to have developed an allergy to my own tears... I really can't stand insensitive people who mistake being unfeeling and lacking emotional depth for strength.

I do not condone any kind of hate being sent to any of the queens but i won't take "it's reality television"/"It's the edit" as an excuse anymore. Like Bussy said the amount of hate and confessionals and overall behaviour of Kween and Kitty is unacceptable, so immature and uncomfortable to how much it seems like bullying.
Yes we don't see everything but also they are giving these things for the producers to use and the events DID happen. Kween said their argument went on for 45m and what that read to me as was them all arguing over semantics and bullying her for doing exactly what she said they were doing. The camera literally caught alot of them being shocked she said she was in the top. They all looked like what? Oh. So in other words they can use what the queens give them but they can't add what has never happened.

The fact is we the audience have no right to judge any of the queens for anything as we do not know what happens off screen. For all we know Nehellenia could be downright insufferable off camera. However I think the fact all the queens are friends now should be more then enough reason for the toxic fanbase to stop making the situation worse. Facts are Bussy's comments on Twitter and even this video to an extent have fanned the toxic fandom to continue to send hate to Kitty and Kween. This season is crazy. They have managed to completely f* up all 12 queens in there. Noone got a good edit. They are producing hard, but nothing is getting produced.
As someone from the UK I can tell you, Kitty fits a certain archetype of person you can often come across here in both appearance and personality. Trust me when I say, they’re almost always total arseholes. So whilst it’s been a bit of a shock in comparison to how she was on UK3, it’s not the biggest surprise in the world. 😅

@@kitnal4143People usually use this type of phrase when they don't want others to misconstrue and think that they're just dogpiling for the sake of it, so other people don't use it as an excuse to spread hate because they're motivated by others who they see as doing the same. They just mean to express the opinion that the behavior by both queens so far has been messed up, and other people aren't alone in being very uncomfortable with the way they're talking about and treating nelly.
Girl, as soon as this episode aired, I was trying to complain to my husband about the way the girls were treating Nehellenia but he could only grasp so much. I stopped mid rant and was like, “You know what? I can’t wait til Bussy Queen posts so I can have someone who understands talk about everything I am thinking.” And that time has finally come. These queens are grown ass men acting like high school mean girls. I don’t mind if you don’t like her but the gaslighting is insane! She can tell you all don’t like her and don’t think she is up to par. And when she brings it up, you all act like she’s crazy and tell her you love her. And then you all take as many chances to be rude to her and talk about her in confessionals as you can! Grow up, Jesus Christ. I was so annoyed!

Mannnn ranting to our straight men SO’s about Drag Race is the best thing ever lol I just tell my boyfriend everything that happens on the show and he really tries to follow along it’s adorable. The meme of Anetra jumping over Mhi’ya diving over Plasma and explaining the whole backstory of how only one queen is photoshopped! He honestly gets my frustrations sometimes and it’s cool I have someone not online to talk DR with.
Kitty shouldve 100% been in the bottom this week. Not only was one half of her dress below the knee which was against the brief ru gave, IT WAS LITERALLY THE SAME DRESS AS ONE OF HER REVEALS😭

You forgot the fact that kitty interrupted nethellenia talk with rupaul saying marguerita pizza. And if kitty apologized to her, that means kitty understood that she did not behave properly.
Poor Nehellania is constantly being interrupted and talked over, when she’s trying to deal with a major language barrier! It’s so frustrating that she can only finish her thoughts when she’s alone in the confessionals! LET HER SPEAK!
My take is this: The reason this dynamic is getting people so activated in the fandom is because most of what we’ve seen them all be so harsh on Nehellenia about has been her as A Person, and not her as a drag queen. We are used to misunderstandings and clashes about differences in drag aesthetics, drag personas, skill sets, and how the judges perceive/receive them. Those can be very entertaining, even if frustrating at times, because it creates storylines for how the competition itself plays out. In the Everybody Vs Nehellenia moment, she expressed that despite not feeling the love on a personal level from the girls… that she would at least hope that they could not let that affect their judgment of her drag which was being underestimated in that moment. She gets swarmed. We get confessional of Soa saying Nehellenia shouldn’t be looking for love in a competition. Which she wasn’t, and specified in that convo that it was about respecting her art. We get Kitty complaining that Nehellenia took up too much time talking about her feelings. And so on. Every moment she comes up we hear someone speak about her, whether it’s Gala saying Nehellenia plays the victim (in the reading challenge) or it’s the barrage from Kitty in this latest episode, it’s almost all about her as a person and what they dislike and how they don’t want her around them. And the competition so far has provided very little relief for this. Whereas in Jinkx’s season we had the judges praising her talent, she had a win under her belt by episode 5, we had moments of Alaska sharing in the experience of being misunderstood and underestimated by the others WITH her, and we got to see her happily being supported by Ivy. The ingredients for an underdog narrative as we know it on drag race were there because it was mostly about things that either the judges enjoyed and other queens didn’t, or things that could realistically change/improve over the course of the competition. The things they’re reading her down for every chance they get are simply not.
Kitty went from a fun and endearing queen in UK to an absolute witch. I know editing makes a huge dent into whay we see but she still said all that rude stuff.
tbh on season 3 she literally was invisible after midway into the competition when they lost alot of front runners and queens that production was pushing, so she really wasnt present and even then there were times where she kinda said some questionable things. But the edit didnt highlight it cause they needed to make a likable top 3.
this makes me feel like Kitty and Kween are being made to look bad so alyssa gets the win without backlash…. however even alyssa had some digs on Nelly saying she thought she was in the bottom when she was a top placement. nelly ftw
I think it feels so much more jarring when Kitty in her UK season was the lovable underdog who you wanted to see do well even when she was out of her element, while in Global her comments feel mean spirited and egotistic. Nehelenia was actively telling Kitty that she was not crying because the fabric was ugly but because she did not know how to work with it since she doesn't know how to sew and Kitty just responds with "well if I had that fabric I know what a sickening dress I would made". It just comes off a bit tone deaf and like they are not even listening to what Nehelenia is saying.
She also called Nellie dumb for sewing stretch/ non stretch together, Nellie only had 3 fabrics 2 were ugly,1 pretty but difficult, she had no choice but to do that.
It's crazy to me that most of the fandom is seeing the crazy rigory and the small bit is defending what's happening. Like the ESL queens are being treated HORRIBLY. Like no one in production was on the side of the queens that don't primarily speak English. At this point it's unbearable to watch and there's no point in watching any Franchise anymore that is judged by Ru. I mean she's just gonna do whatever she wants to do. Period. Kitty has officially lost me as a fan. Kong is almost right there with her in how nasty she's being.
This entire season is a mess. The producers are blatantly favoring the Ru girls, which is completely unfair. Kitty and kween are coming off as really shady, but the fandom’s response is overwhelmingly toxic too, with fatphobic, racist remarks and even death threats. You can't fight hate by being hateful yourself.
I can’t believe we’re sitting here watching this unfold on national TV. Nelly is being straight-up bullied, and it’s disgusting. There’s a massive difference between being ‘sassy’ or ‘catty’ and actual bullying, and Kitty has clearly missed the memo. Her comparing Nelly to Dolores Umbridge? That’s not a cute read, it’s just plain mean. Nelly’s struggling with the language barrier, trying her best, and instead of support, she’s getting passive-aggressive digs and mean-spirited shade. And let’s talk about that whole fabric situation this week. Nelly got stuck with Kitty’s fabric, and she never said she didn’t like it-she just didn’t know how to work with it. But Kitty was so desperate to twist it into Nelly hating the fabric, trying to paint her out as ungrateful when that wasn’t the case at all. It’s like Kitty is out here reaching for anything to make Nelly look bad. That’s not competition, it’s manipulation. Now, I saw Nelly’s statement on Twitter, and let’s be real-she only made that post because the producers clearly forced her to. We all know how these contracts work. After the episode aired and people saw the bullying for what it was, the show started catching heat. And I’m sure they told Nelly to jump in and ‘smooth things over’ so people wouldn’t stop watching. It’s obvious damage control, and it’s just as shady. The episode might have been filmed a year ago, but the bullying was real and uncomfortable to watch, no matter when it happened. And don’t even get me started on this whole ‘it’s just the edit’ defense. You can edit all you want, but Kitty-you still said what you said. Own it. It doesn’t matter how it’s sliced up, the words came out of your mouth. And all these people rushing to her defense, saying it’s just sass? No, this is mistreatment, plain and simple. Queen Kong’s fake “friendly” jabs aren’t any better, either. It’s straight-up bullying disguised as competition, and it’s embarrassing. When these queens watch this back, they better be ashamed of themselves. Especially Kitty. This is not how you treat someone, and Nelly deserves so much better. And when Nelly watches this back she will realize that we were all on her side at home and she wasn't alone in this..
@@isiiik I understand that the TV show is highly edited and I completely understand. A lot of it is done to strike emotion in the viewers that watch. However, what I don't understand and what I don't like is how somebody is bullied for content. That is what I don't like. It makes me uncomfortable. It's made a lot of other people uncomfortable. It’s also in Nellie’s best interest to stay involved and “friends” with popular Ru Queens like Kitty if she ever wants to have anything to do with Drag Race again. She has no friends seemingly in the cast while it’s being filmed, so has no one to back her up if she came out about being bullied and still hurting from the comments, and those feelings being rehashed with every episode released. She has to live with it all again PLUS see the confessional comments she didn’t know about. Can you imagine knowing everyone hates you but is gaslighting you, only to find a recording later of everything people were saying about you, that all your fears were justified, that everyone was lying to you? Look, if you haven’t been there, I’m going to tell you that shit is ROUGH. But if she decides to strike out on her own to try avenge herself, that’s her career done. She has to remain friends with these people if she wants to stay in the game. Which is even worse. Stay with people who hate you and talk shit about you behind your back, or (basically) give up something you love. It’s not an easy choice.
My conspiracy theory is that edit is setting up Kitty and Kween to not win the crown. They will be strong contenders but nobody likes a mean spirited queen and they will get their slice of karma at the end of the season by not winning. Seems like nehelenia will end up being a finalist. Also this edit benefits Alyssa a lot.
Not really defending them, but Kitty and Kween are ultimately responding to questions that the producers ask them, and probably say a lot more than the quick soundbites we hear.

I just think it’s crazy that the show seems to THINK we won’t like Nehellenia, so they show us the queens they want to push hating on her… but like how is that fun or flattering? I can’t believe they thought this painted them in a good light.
We will not be seeing a second season of this franchise. I’m not happy with any treatment of the international contestants. This was their moment on a high profiled platform for those who have never seen their franchises to shine. Why is it all the international queens being eliminated? Why was there not more international judges on the panel? Why were the international queens judged on American standards. I’m so upset over this franchise. This. The pizza margerita moment felt wrong. The way Ru asked Nehellenia the question and Kitty immediately jumped in with a borderline xenophobic joke. It was super cringe. And Ru blindly laughs at everything Kitty does and…it’s not that funny.
It was actually Kitty who said the phrase, not Ru. Ru wanted Nehelly to say her own catch phrase. Ru just humored Kitty, which yes, was cringey. But I did want to hear Nehelly’s pronunciation, and she did not disappoint. Her Italian sounded beautiful. I just wish Nehelly had come up with a clever catchphrase to put Kitty in her place, something like “Kitty’s Getting Neutered” in Italian, making THAT how you say “Margherita pizza” in Italian. 🎤🫳
Yeah. This is way too over-analyzed. They probably gave them money to buy the fabric beforehand. They all obviously knew what kind of fabric was inside each bag, so it doesn’t seem like they were clueless.
I thought that the Pizza Margherita part of the episode was gross due to using the ethnic joke at the expense of Nehellenia. She's obviously ESL, so it's pretty cruel to make those types of jokes at someone's expense, especially when they don't understand that THEY are the butt of the joke and are unable to defend themselves in the same way as a native English speaker. It's just disgusting. I'm from Canada and we have people from all over the world here, so part of being a Canadian is being patient with ESL speakers because many people don't speak perfect English and don't understand the nuances behind jokes, or slang terms. RuPaul, being the host, who has more than enough world experience to know that what was being said was inappropriate (Ru would NEVER ask a black Queen to embrace her slogan as "fried chicken and purple drank"). That rubbed me the wrong way; this show has been on long enough that production and RuPaul should know better than to make disparaging, offensive, demeaning remarks like that.
Honestly Ru isn’t even safe when it comes to black queens and asking them to play into stereotypes. Remember Mhi’ya snatch game was just “Trina’s cousin” and it was something he specifically told her to do? The whole thing was a hammed up ghetto black girl character. It’s just so annoying how Ru asks for low level race/ethnic based comedy. Especially as a Black man himself who rose to fame during the 80s&90s :/
It's just interesting how the show frames two differnet things. Like Alyssa complained about Tessa's fabric as much as Nehli complained about Kitty's and yet with Nehli it was framed as like wow she's being so overdramatic and awful and with Aylssa it was like just Alyssa being Alyssa? Don't get me wrong Love them both but to your point it does beg the question who are we supposed to be rooting for in all this? I loved Kitty on her season but the way she's portrayed here would almost be a villain edit on any other season and I find that fascinating considering how well liked she is by Ru. You would think the show would want to go out of their wayto make her look good.

I definitely think the girls brought the fabric from home. They probably just took the fabric from them when they got there and packaged them in those suitcases for aesthetic purposes but it does seem like each queen brought the fabrics. Most of them talked about what they brought and why and I think you can tell with the type of fabrics that they match the queens if that makes sense?
Apparently Nelly was known for crying during her season no matter the reason. I never watched her season but saw compilations of her crying and now I feel worse for the Kitty and Kween comments and treatment towards Nelly… like damn leave Nelly alone 😭❤
Production is showing us the confessionals of Kitty and Kween so it will be easier to crown Alyssa the winner at the end of the season because Ru usually crowns the queen who the public likes best. Assuming those are the final three.
Yea that’s all I’m getting Alyssa is a fan fav she’ll have better opportunities to do interviews and be on the morning shows as the winner then anyone else and I’m assuming they’ll be the final 3 and by then Kween and Kitty will be to hated to crown
In Nelly’s original Drag Race Italia season she rubbed her fellow contestants wrong as well and was a self-admitted crybaby. Having said that, Kitty is def not being kind to Nelly and I do think many of the other cast members are probably annoyed by Nelly to an extent as well. The fun shade is what I’m here for but some of the queens behavior toward her has been…cringe 🥴
Definitely. Of course it can also be said in a “friendly” insult kind of way, but you’d need to actually be friends first for that to come off. Not to mention that she also called her thick, which is a much more unambiguous insult.

The pizza thing was so uncomfortable to watch. it would be like asking Vanity for a swedish phrase and reduce her to "Ikea meatball", reduce Alyssa to "McDonalds" or kitty to "inedible gray stuff". It felt somewhere between racist, classist and zenophobic. I know it sounds silly to call it racist, but Nelly was being reduced to a stereotype. It felt especially icky coming from Kitty. The English are often gross about southern europeans. As a non native english speaker I think I could feel the pain more keenly, and I don't think kitty had ill intent. She might not know what it feels to be made fun of for your cultural bacground. Italy has a vibrant and interesting culture that deserves to be showcased, not reduced to "hahaha pizza" she sounds like mario.
Not surprised at Kween Kong's behaviour, she's very insecure and fought with someone else on her Down Under season and she's the type to be a mean cliquey girl when she's feeling more confident. She's always praising herself and that's huge red flag to me!!!!
If Pythia had worn a white wig like Gala and a pair of gold gladiator sandals with maybe a matching clutch, and just let the dress be the focal point, I think she could have won. But the wig, the gloves and the accessories really made an awesome dress look messy.

Just a reminder that Nelly was constantly picked last and in this episode wasn't picked at all. She also was completely talked over, gaslit, and underestimated. She then picked Pythias team where Kitty FORCED her to take her suitcase. When she opened that case and saw colors she doesn't normally use in a fabric she knows is hard to work with, it was the final straw. She cried and not a single person came over to comfort her and be sisterly bc of Kitty and her arguing. Well more like Kitty not understanding and not letting Nelly talk about why she was upset. It was rough to watch them call her a cow twice, then told her to cover her face, and then gave the microaggression of margarita pizza. No hate to Kitty and Kween but you were infact rude and dismissive of your sister. May be fine now but remember it's fresh for us bc we JUST watched it. But also cow is still an insult. It was made as an insult and you use it in most often a negative way.
At this point I'm just not buying what Kitty's trying to sell. She's just an annoying big bully who comes out as snobbish, unfunny, and plain mean. She can blame it on the edit but, at the end of the day, she said what she said. The edit is also getting super annoying, granted.
2 things I thought that were worth mentioning. Firstly Dolores Umbridge is a cruel bully who wears lots of pink. I genuinely believe Kitty calling Nehli ‘Umbridge’ was a joke/light shade because she is saying Nehli is wearing the same colour as Umbridge, who is vile. I don’t think Kitty was being mean there, but making a harmless (enough) joke. However Kitty calling Nehli ‘an ungrateful cow’ was straight rude. This is solely because of Kitty’s tone. Calling someone a cow in the UK can be kind of jokey, however her tone wasn’t jokey/friendly/funny. Instead her tone was serious, cold and again rude. Nothing was lost in translation and she was being a bitch.
I think they cut out the Nikki feature for the ESL queens. Vanity's English is way more proficient than say, Nehellenia's or Gala's. Asking ESL queens to rap that fast would've been kinda mean. lol Unless all ESL queens came in with a really strong command of the English language, like Pangina, Vanity Vain, Janet Jacke, etc., but part of the fun of a Global All Stars is the mix of accents for me.

It was a terrible thing by RuPaul. Catch phrases usually are born from a moment (back rolls? as an example). Nearly all of these queens speak English as a second language, placing Nellie in that spot was unkind & where did it come from??? She didn’t ask that of anyone else.
The irony of all this is how damaging to their reputations this franchise has been to Alyssa, Kitty and Kween- the new Relaskatox/Mean Girls, but also to Wow producers. The winners this season are the other Queens who are getting exposure in the US… cuz They seem to be competing for all the right reasons. The show is operating like a regime and not an unbiased talent contest. Kitty seems to be dumping all the insecurity and names she’s been called in her past on Nelly, perhaps needs to talk to a professional about some issues.
Pretty obvious... the english speaking queens are the ones winning challenges, by making them villains, they make for certain that the only choice to the crown is Alyssa who are coasting the competition...
And somehow shes slipping through the cracks. She started the drama, now shes safe and kitty and Kween are taking the heat, building Nehelenia underdog arc

It makes me sad that she said maybe she feels things too intensely though though, cause girl, if there is a problem, it’s with not feeling and not expressing your emotions and belittling other people when they do (like Kitty and Kween did).
I do wanna mention that Nehellenia herself has stated multiple times on IG live that Kitty and Kween have apologized to her and that this was filmed over a year ago. She says they have since become friends and that she loves them and is asking everyone to not send them hate over this. Yes, they were rude af and it was too much, but Nelly has moved on and is not upset with them anymore.
@@HighonBoots they’re not “alleged” apologies because Nehellenia said it herself actually even on her live today. I doubt the apologies would have been on the season because they probably weren’t aware of how they were coming across until after. We need to start giving these queens some grace. We all make mistakes and if we can apologize and learn from them, that’s what matters. And it seems like they have because Nelly is friends with them now and says she loves them. She also said that they reach out and talk to her every week now. We can call out the behavior when we see it of course, but there will never be any progress if we continuously throw more hate and negativity into it in my opinion.

Nehellenia reacted as best she could, simply by playing the game, albeit confused and probably a little hurt. Kitty and Ru were extremely rude and the whole scene was very hard to watch.

The Kiwi queens have all seemed nice though, guess Kween wanted to break that streak.

Cheryl was very likable the whole season, in my opinion.
I think that the producers want to produce a narrative where Nehellenia is "bad" or "unsufferable"... but they are not doing a good job. Maybe Nehellenia IS not likable (which is unlikely), but since the producers are not showing anything to back up their claims, Kween and Kitty just give a bully vibe.
I think they are just writing an underdog story. People like underdogs a lot.

This episode made me physically uncomfortable and all I could think about was the child like bullying you’d see in high school. I really hope Nehellenia feels the love & appreciation from the fan base. I do not condone any kind of hate being sent to any of the queens but i won't take "it's reality television"/"It's the edit" as an excuse anymore. Like Bussy said the amount of hate and confessionals and overall behaviour of Kween and Kitty is unacceptable, so immature and uncomfortable to how much it seems like bullying.

Girl, as soon as this episode aired, I was trying to complain to my husband about the way the girls were treating Nehellenia but he could only grasp so much. I stopped mid rant and was like, “You know what? I can’t wait til Bussy Queen posts so I can have someone who understands talk about everything I am thinking.” And that time has finally come.
These queens are grown ass men acting like high school mean girls. I don’t mind if you don’t like her but the gaslighting is insane! My take is this: The reason this dynamic is getting people so activated in the fandom is because most of what we’ve seen them all be so harsh on Nehellenia about has been her as A Person, and not her as a drag queen. We are used to misunderstandings and clashes about differences in drag aesthetics, drag personas, skill sets, and how the judges perceive/receive them. Those can be very entertaining, even if frustrating at times, because it creates storylines for how the competition itself plays out.
In the Everybody Vs Nehellenia moment, she expressed that despite not feeling the love on a personal level from the girls… that she would at least hope that they could not let that affect their judgment of her drag which was being underestimated in that moment. She gets swarmed. We get confessional of Soa saying Nehellenia shouldn’t be looking for love in a competition. Which she wasn’t, and specified in that convo that it was about respecting her art. We get Kitty complaining that Nehellenia took up too much time talking about her feelings. And so on. Every moment she comes up we hear someone speak about her, whether it’s Gala saying Nehellenia plays the victim (in the reading challenge) or it’s the barrage from Kitty in this latest episode, it’s almost all about her as a person and what they dislike and how they don’t want her around them.
And the competition so far has provided very little relief for this. Whereas in Jinkx’s season we had the judges praising her talent, she had a win under her belt by episode 5, we had moments of Alaska sharing in the experience of being misunderstood and underestimated by the others WITH her, and we got to see her happily being supported by Ivy.
The ingredients for an underdog narrative as we know it on drag race were there because it was mostly about things that either the judges enjoyed and other queens didn’t, or things that could realistically change/improve over the course of the competition. The things they’re reading her down for every chance they get are simply not.

Kitty went from a fun and endearing queen in UK to an absolute witch. I know editing makes a huge dent into whay we see but she still said all that rude stuff.
tbh on season 3 she literally was invisible after midway into the competition when they lost alot of front runners and queens that production was pushing, so she really wasnt present and even then there were times where she kinda said some questionable things. But the edit didnt highlight it cause they needed to make a likable top 3.
this makes me feel like Kitty and Kween are being made to look bad so alyssa gets the win without backlash…. however even alyssa had some digs on Nelly saying she thought she was in the bottom when she was a top placement.

I think it feels so much more jarring when Kitty in her UK season was the lovable underdog who you wanted to see do well even when she was out of her element, while in Global her comments feel mean spirited and egotistic. Nehelenia was actively telling Kitty that she was not crying because the fabric was ugly but because she did not know how to work with it since she doesn't know how to sew and Kitty just responds with "well if I had that fabric I know what a sickening dress I would made". It just comes off a bit tone deaf and like they are not even listening to what Nehelenia is saying.
She also called Nellie dumb for sewing stretch/ non stretch together, Nellie only had 3 fabrics 2 were ugly,1 pretty but difficult, she had no choice but to do that.
It's crazy to me that most of the fandom is seeing the crazy rigory and the small bit is defending what's happening. Like the ESL queens are being treated HORRIBLY. Like no one in production was on the side of the queens that don't primarily speak English. At this point it's unbearable to watch and there's no point in watching any Franchise anymore that is judged by Ru. I mean she's just gonna do whatever she wants to do. Period.

This entire season is a mess. The producers are blatantly favoring the Ru girls, which is completely unfair. Kitty and kween are coming off as really shady, but the fandom’s response is overwhelmingly toxic too, with fatphobic, racist remarks and even death threats. You can't fight hate by being hateful yourself.
Kitty is without a doubt a bully and the VILLAIN of the season
I can’t believe we’re sitting here watching this unfold on national TV. Nelly is being straight-up bullied, and it’s disgusting. There’s a massive difference between being ‘sassy’ or ‘catty’ and actual bullying, and Kitty has clearly missed the memo. Her comparing Nelly to Dolores Umbridge? That’s not a cute read, it’s just plain mean. Nelly’s struggling with the language barrier, trying her best, and instead of support, she’s getting passive-aggressive digs and mean-spirited shade.
And let’s talk about that whole fabric situation this week. Nelly got stuck with Kitty’s fabric, and she never said she didn’t like it-she just didn’t know how to work with it. But Kitty was so desperate to twist it into Nelly hating the fabric, trying to paint her out as ungrateful when that wasn’t the case at all. It’s like Kitty is out here reaching for anything to make Nelly look bad. That’s not competition, it’s manipulation.
Now, I saw Nelly’s statement on Twitter, and let’s be real-she only made that post because the producers clearly forced her to. We all know how these contracts work. After the episode aired and people saw the bullying for what it was, the show started catching heat. And I’m sure they told Nelly to jump in and ‘smooth things over’ so people wouldn’t stop watching. It’s obvious damage control, and it’s just as shady. The episode might have been filmed a year ago, but the bullying was real and uncomfortable to watch, no matter when it happened.
And don’t even get me started on this whole ‘it’s just the edit’ defense. You can edit all you want, but Kitty-you still said what you said. Own it. It doesn’t matter how it’s sliced up, the words came out of your mouth. And all these people rushing to her defense, saying it’s just sass? No, this is mistreatment, plain and simple. Queen Kong’s fake “friendly” jabs aren’t any better, either. It’s straight-up bullying disguised as competition, and it’s embarrassing.
When these queens watch this back, they better be ashamed of themselves. Especially Kitty. This is not how you treat someone, and Nelly deserves so much better. And when Nelly watches this back she will realize that we were all on her side at home and she wasn't alone in this..

She has to live with it all again PLUS see the confessional comments she didn’t know about. Can you imagine knowing everyone hates you but is gaslighting you, only to find a recording later of everything people were saying about you, that all your fears were justified, that everyone was lying to you? Look, if you haven’t been there, I’m going to tell you that shit is ROUGH.
But if she decides to strike out on her own to try avenge herself, that’s her career done. She has to remain friends with these people if she wants to stay in the game. Which is even worse. My conspiracy theory is that edit is setting up Kitty and Kween to not win the crown. They will be strong contenders but nobody likes a mean spirited queen and they will get their slice of karma at the end of the season by not winning. Seems like nehelenia will end up being a finalist. Also this edit benefits Alyssa a lot.
Not really defending them, but Kitty and Kween are ultimately responding to questions that the producers ask them, and probably say a lot more than the quick soundbites we hear.

I thought that the Pizza Margherita part of the episode was gross due to using the ethnic joke at the expense of Nehellenia. She's obviously ESL, so it's pretty cruel to make those types of jokes at someone's expense, especially when they don't understand that THEY are the butt of the joke and are unable to defend themselves in the same way as a native English speaker. It's just disgusting. I'm from Canada and we have people from all over the world here, so part of being a Canadian is being patient with ESL speakers because many people don't speak perfect English and don't understand the nuances behind jokes, or slang terms. RuPaul, being the host, who has more than enough world experience to know that what was being said was inappropriate (Ru would NEVER ask a black Queen to embrace her slogan as "fried chicken and purple drank"). That rubbed me the wrong way; this show has been on long enough that production and RuPaul should know better than to make disparaging, offensive, demeaning remarks like that.

In Nelly’s original Drag Race Italia season she rubbed her fellow contestants wrong as well and was a self-admitted crybaby. Having said that, Kitty is def not being kind to Nelly and I do think many of the other cast members are probably annoyed by Nelly to an extent as well. The fun shade is what I’m here for but some of the queens behavior toward her has been…cringe 🥴

It felt somewhere between racist, classist and zenophobic. I know it sounds silly to call it racist, but Nelly was being reduced to a stereotype. It felt especially icky coming from Kitty. The English are often gross about southern europeans. As a non native english speaker I think I could feel the pain more keenly, and I don't think kitty had ill intent. She might not know what it feels to be made fun of for your cultural bacground. Italy has a vibrant and interesting culture that deserves to be showcased, not reduced to "hahaha pizza" she sounds like mario.

Not surprised at Kween Kong's behaviour, she's very insecure and fought with someone else on her Down Under season and she's the type to be a mean cliquey girl when she's feeling more confident. She's always praising herself and that's huge red flag to me!!!!

Just a reminder that Nelly was constantly picked last and in this episode wasn't picked at all. She also was completely talked over, gaslit, and underestimated. She then picked Pythias team where Kitty FORCED her to take her suitcase.
When she opened that case and saw colors she doesn't normally use in a fabric she knows is hard to work with, it was the final straw. She cried and not a single person came over to comfort her and be sisterly bc of Kitty and her arguing. Well more like Kitty not understanding and not letting Nelly talk about why she was upset.
It was rough to watch them call her a cow twice, then told her to cover her face, and then gave the microaggression of margarita pizza.
No hate to Kitty and Kween but you were infact rude and dismissive of your sister. May be fine now but remember it's fresh for us bc we JUST watched it.
But also cow is still an insult. It was made as an insult and you use it in most often a negative way.
At this point I'm just not buying what Kitty's trying to sell. She's just an annoying big bully who comes out as snobbish, unfunny, and plain mean. She can blame it on the edit but, at the end of the day, she said what she said. The edit is also getting super annoying, granted.
2 things I thought that were worth mentioning.
Firstly Dolores Umbridge is a cruel bully who wears lots of pink. I genuinely believe Kitty calling Nehli ‘Umbridge’ was a joke/light shade because she is saying Nehli is wearing the same colour as Umbridge, who is vile. I don’t think Kitty was being mean there, but making a harmless (enough) joke.
However Kitty calling Nehli ‘an ungrateful cow’ was straight rude. This is solely because of Kitty’s tone. Calling someone a cow in the UK can be kind of jokey, however her tone wasn’t jokey/friendly/funny. Instead her tone was serious, cold and again rude. Nothing was lost in translation and she was being a bitch.
I think they cut out the Nikki feature for the ESL queens. Vanity's English is way more proficient than say, Nehellenia's or Gala's. Asking ESL queens to rap that fast would've been kinda mean. lol Unless all ESL queens came in with a really strong command of the English language, like Pangina, Vanity Vain, Janet Jacke, etc., but part of the fun of a Global All Stars is the mix of accents for me.

It was a terrible thing by RuPaul. Catch phrases usually are born from a moment (back rolls? as an example). Nearly all of these queens speak English as a second language, placing Nellie in that spot was unkind & where did it come from??? She didn’t ask that of anyone else.
So did I. If someone did that to a Black or Brown Queen drag race would be cancelled right now. Absolutely disgusting.
The irony of all this is how damaging to their reputations this franchise has been to Alyssa, Kitty and Kween- the new Relaskatox/Mean Girls, but also to Wow producers. The winners this season are the other Queens who are getting exposure in the US… cuz They seem to be competing for all the right reasons. The show is operating like a regime and not an unbiased talent contest. Kitty seems to be dumping all the insecurity and names she’s been called in her past on Nelly, perhaps needs to talk to a professional about some issues.
Pretty obvious... the english speaking queens are the ones winning challenges, by making them villains, they make for certain that the only choice to the crown is Alyssa who are coasting the competition...
And somehow shes slipping through the cracks. She started the drama, now shes safe and kitty and Kween are taking the heat, building Nehelenia underdog arc

@@brendanmiles6134 I agree. I think Kitty acted like an asshat. I think part of what was going on was cultural differences, like Nelly said. It makes me sad that she said maybe she feels things too intensely though though, cause girl, if there is a problem, it’s with not feeling and not expressing your emotions and belittling other people when they do (like Kitty and Kween did).
I do wanna mention that Nehellenia herself has stated multiple times on IG live that Kitty and Kween have apologized to her and that this was filmed over a year ago. She says they have since become friends and that she loves them and is asking everyone to not send them hate over this. Yes, they were rude af and it was too much, but Nelly has moved on and is not upset with them anymore.
Wanna hope that these alleged apologies were during filming this season
@@HighonBoots they’re not “alleged” apologies because Nehellenia said it herself actually even on her live today. I doubt the apologies would have been on the season because they probably weren’t aware of how they were coming across until after. We need to start giving these queens some grace. We all make mistakes and if we can apologize and learn from them, that’s what matters. And it seems like they have because Nelly is friends with them now and says she loves them. She also said that they reach out and talk to her every week now. We can call out the behavior when we see it of course, but there will never be any progress if we continuously throw more hate and negativity into it in my opinion.
