I lived and worked in New Zealand, and I still remember this period of my life with great fondness. Even then, I drew attention to the love and care with which kiwi people relate to their nature and protect it. I have never seen such an attitude. I am 100% sure that if these people made the decision to restore the population of these beautiful marine animals, then in the end it will be so!
I am very glad that the Whales are in loving, caring and reliable hands. It would be nice if you could create a fund to support your research so that all people of goodwill from all over the planet can also make their humble contribution to this very important work in the restoration and protection of marine animals.

They deserved to be protected from China, Japan, and America
yeah its so freakin sad that whales were hunted to extinction. Says a whole lot about the "modern" world order. The natives hunted them for food but they didn't drive it to the point of extinction. Ditto for the bison and the American Indians.

All entertainment aquariums should be shutdown. Some of these sweet intelligent whales spend decades in pools they can barely turnaround it. It's beyond cruel.

So basically, you’re spending millions of dollars, possibly / probably tax payers dollars, to track a whale for a few months. Where did it go? The ocean. Where its been for millions of years now. Great job!
And a fine job tracking the whalies for the Japanese whale boats. I guess that saves fuel so it's good for the environment.

@@zap265 No they don't. There are rules! In Norway we only hunt the minky whale. They are outnumbering and surpressing other species. There are at least 150 000 of them in Norwegian waters alone. We take out/kill 900 of them each year. It is much more equou friendly to eat whale than steak. And I am no moron, my family eats 2 vegan meals a week. But I grew up on a small farm, back then I knew where my meat came from. I know where whales live, and I eat it when I can afford it. It tastes wondefull! 😚
