Poor guy. I imagine he felt better when it was over. I honestly don't know how I found this channel, but I feel like I've both been educated and entertained these last few months since. Lol. Your personality is very engaging.
Enoch's videos are the best! He is very good with all of the animals he treats, and adds a bit of comedy sometimes. Each and every one is a different learning experience.
What a blessing this vet is to cows! As a city girl, I've never thought that cows could get these huge, random abscesses. I'm glad he's there to help them.
Huge abscess in a very huge BULL. He may not have liked his side poked, but he’s going to be so much better now. I enjoyed watching how you teach and handle these situations. Your calmness has a real effect on the animals you treat. Thank you for another great video.
I wish my vet had your patience. You really take such good care of the animals and try and cause them as little stress as you can. I bet he feels so much better now that had been drained
So that is the largest beast I have seen you work with. He was one noble bull. I would be terrified being near him. He is mature with massive neck. And the abscess? Bulls size made it look smaller than it was. Oh for a full cattle crush like Mr Hoof GP.
Would be fun to put him over the scales. Didn’t know that breed got so big. Thankfully he was very quiet. Hate to think what he would have done if he played up. Interesting to watch his muscles relax as he realised you were helping him.
Well done Sir. Between holding that scalpel blade bare handed and working with 5000 lbs of testosterone filled hamburger meat, these videos never get old. I hope you are okay, sounded like the blade did get your hand. Really appreciate the videos Dr. Bergman. Thank the patients, the ranchers, and your students if you can.
Love that there’s a person with this specialized skill to care for these animals. I’m sure it’s been asked: “Why are there so many (videos of)cows getting abscesses?” I assume it’s from hormones or steroids or length of life in partial captivity or living conditions? Not saying any of these things are unhealthy per se - just the nature of the beast with animal husbandry.
There appears to be a large bump on the top of his nose as well, is that a bruise or scar tissue? I know bulls get facial injuries doing what they do, so just curious if that was the result of one. Great and educational vid as always. You're fast with your hands when that big guy was moving! So easy to get crushed or broken hands!
😵💫 way to go! First, that bull was HUGE. Second, your practical and effective techniques are always spot on. I really love your TH-cam channel. Please share your back story some time. How did a young vet from Colorado end up in Australia? (I am a retired RNP-I live in a southern California coastal city known for its famous surf)
Extra cheesy….love it!! I sure hope this big boy is feeling better. It was nice to see that once he realized that the pressure and pain was subsiding, that you were helping him, Enoch. Poor fella.
You’re such a swell guy 😏🤭 That bull visibly relaxed when that abscess deflated poor guy would be feeling pretty ordinary before . But wasn’t to keen when you filled it up again. Great job as always.
Can't say I blame the bull for a little dancing! That must have been a few litres of muck you got out of him! Interesting how he calmed down, once the internal pressure came off. 😀 On his behalf: "Thank you!!!"
I had a very small, relatively speaking, abscess once and the relief that came from lancing was incredible. So yes, i think it was something even a bull could notice!
I still wince when the vet lances the abscess but I know they are doing it all for the well-being of the animal. I’ve said it before: thank goodness for those who care.
Bulls this size are practically rhinos. We had one we could only handle safely (key word:: safely) was after he'd just field bred a new bunch of girls. I know all the McGivering we do on the farm, but that 24 or 22 blade held on a hemostat made me nervous, not that that size blade is sharp as a 10 blade scalpel is. I miss my cow days.
That title tho 😂great sense of humor you have,. I Feel bad the big boy, he had so much pain abscesses are so tender and sensitive boy do they hurt! he prob felt so much relief after .
Thank God I live in the time where things can be numbed. I had an abscess under my collarbone and a doctor used one of those huge Qtips to clean it out. Even though he numbed it, I was begging him to stop
More often than not an animal’s injury is in an area that causes you difficulties. Like the bars of the pen being right where the vet needs to lance the abscess. I’m glad to see it’s not just my bad luck 😂
14:04 my two-year-old keeps rewinding it and rewinding it and rewinding it to watch that exact moment and laughs her head off!!! She asks to watch it at least twice a day randomly then will watch it nonstop about 💯x 😂 😂 😂 love it
Hi Doc Dow Under!!! Please teach me...where you nervous using the scalpel blade and holding it with your tweezer/hemostat tools? I'd be terrified that huge boy would move suddenly and the blade would dislodge and go into him and never come out.
😆This was awesome 😎❤️ u shoulda cleaned his rear end off with what was left of that water mixture... I Kno I wouldn't want a poop covered bum, and that's a BIG Bum!! Help a brother out!!!😆
Gotta say I prefer watching KeeboVet - not b/c he’s necessarily a better vet, per se - but b/c he goes above & beyond. He numbs & shaves the area to be cut, then thoroughly disinfects it with what looks to be a Betadine solution. He’s got a certain system & rarely deviates from it. He works fast & efficiently. Since he provides pain relief, the animal is much calmer and therefore less dangerous to the humans around him/her. Also, just better for the animal all around.
I know you say the sight is desensitized from the swelling but I've had quite a few abscesses myself and it is very very painful to have it lanced. By the way these animals react it must be very painful to them also. I know you have it do this for their own good. My heart just goes out because that is painful.
I had to have recent surgery for an abscess because it was too much to drain by aspirating with a needle. Most pain I have ever been in. Hurt worse than giving birth and that was no picnic either. At least I was out for the procedure. I really feel for these animals that don’t get that luxury. Bless Enoch the Cow Vet for taking care of these animals. You can tell he really has the heart for his job. He does what he has to do without inflicting any more pain than necessary. I love watching this man work.
That is the thing with trying to anesthetize an area that has its chemistry all out of whack. This chemistry being out of whack means that the meds probably wouldn't have worked. Yes he could still have felt it or he was annoyed that someone was pocking (not sharp pain from the blade) him on his side and was trying to get away from it. For us humans when we get an abscess it is excruciating but for animals with thick hides, pain would be less due to constriction of the surface of the hide
Saphira’s Mommy…. That’s a relief :-). I two was wondering how badly that was hurting the bowl, although like everyone else here we all know it had to be done. I had no idea that the thickness of their hide meant that it was less painful. Thank you for sharing that…
A bull that size is capable of traring down anything, including fences and pens. There was a specially made "bull pen" in our old barn. It was high and impenetrable, though we never put the bull in and tried it out.
Chuteless? An inner tube with mostly filled with water to act as a dock sock fender bumper...a sort of bull sock drainage circle? You've got the reflexes going on fine though.
That's a very well behaved, very large bull, in spite of having a very sore spot lanced!!
That bull was just a gentle giant... he was carrying alot of hidden contents but you certainly made sure you got it all! I love this channel!
Forensics class showed your autopsy videos last week and I LOVED them!! Keep on keepin' on, man.
Abscesses are just SO satisfying! Gorgeous bull. He's nice too.
The muscles behind that boys neck are MASSIVE!! I just love this vet! Brave as all hell! Caption is Fantastic! 🤣
He might be on steroids 🤣
Poor guy. I imagine he felt better when it was over. I honestly don't know how I found this channel, but I feel like I've both been educated and entertained these last few months since. Lol. Your personality is very engaging.
This happened to me too
What a beautiful gentle beast. Thank you for always treating them so kindly and efficiently 😻
Not kindly!
@@garyfletcher844 roll up and try it out yourself man. See if you can get it done more 'kindly'.
Thank you for helping this beautiful bull, he certainly must feel much better. Your kindness and gentleness shows how much you must care for animals.
If I was a big ole bull with a nasty an ess, I would for sure ask for you. Your caring and experience speaks loudly here. Bravo.
Great job. What a beautiful bull. He's enormous.
Boy it just doesn’t stop! The gift that keeps giving. That was quite a challenge for you. I enjoy watching you. I’m glad I’m not there to smell it💕
Enoch's videos are the best! He is very good with all of the animals he treats, and adds a bit of comedy sometimes. Each and every one is a different learning experience.
Now THAT was an abscess! Your patience knows no bounds 🐮🐮 The flies would drive me mad! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

OMG, what an abscess that big boy had. Great that the kids learned to use what is available to get the job done. Great teach Dr. Enoch!
Always a pleasure watching someone who knows what they’re doing.
Love this vet. And his humor
I love this channel. I grew up on a farm, so I’ve been around cows and horses, even though I was afraid of them. Bull is huge.
That was so disgusting, I’m so glad that the vet was as gentle as he could be! Hoping the bull feels better quickly!
Man that’s a big ole bull. Amazing how much pus he can generate, and how huge the abscess can get.
I wish my vet had your patience. You really take such good care of the animals and try and cause them as little stress as you can. I bet he feels so much better now that had been drained
I love watching this stuff. Knowing that animal will feel a whole lot better.
Good lord that thing was huge!!!! I loved every minute of it 😁 love to watch you work ❤️
I've never seen a bull that big in my life!!! He's big on screen, but he must've been absolutely HUGE in person!
Poor baby. That has to be excruciating 😢
Can’t wait to see him when he grows big and strong 💪 thank you for the cool pimple pop
Thanks for sharing
Love your work
As always, doc....they don't make em like you anymore! Pure Awesome-sauce!
Get it??? Awesome SAUCE??!! 😆 🤣 😂 😹

I don’t think he would fit in Graeme’s crush!

That is one handsome big bull. Glad he got relief from this abcess

I had to pause just to laugh when you said, "His abscess sure looks abscess-y" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Know its been a year, but what could cause such a large abcess like that one?
Thank you for helping this bull out.👏
Normally a bug bite that gets infected
8:15 "Back up son."
Bull: "No. Nope. No I dont wanna"
What a wonderful bull he stood still for a lot of poking before shaking his head no. But even then he was pretty cordial.

What a good bull he was. I do love an Enoch abcess story! 😂
