    I would often use Music Annex in Menlo Park CA in the 1980s. There would be lots of pretty famous rockers there at night. They would be walking the halls to get to the coffee maker. I happen to walk into Studio A where Ronnie Montrose was producing a band. No one was there yet, but what I saw was unbelievable. Ronnie Montrose's rack of gear was sitting next to the NEVE console. The entire front panel was spray painted black. I guess so that no one could see the settings. Crazy man.

    Warm vintage 80s tones that inspire you to pick up the guitar and play ! My rack is on progress : Furman PL8CE, Rocktron Piranha, Rocktron Pro-Q, Rocktron Hush Ultra, Rocktron Intellifex Blackface, Mesa Boogie 50/50, I'm debating whether or not to add a Rocktron Intellipitch ! All controlled with a Rocktron Midimate. Cheers from Morocco

    I had a rack in the 90's and when I brought that thing out, sound men just drueled over the sound of it. It went as follows: a Fender Blues deluxe reverb into a THD hotplate with speaker thru to a Rane sm26 mixer into a Rocktron intellifex set on a duck delay. The power amp was a Mesa Boogie 50/50 in to 2- Peavey tweed classic 50 4x10 cabinets. So you had a 1x12 dry from the fender and stereo left and right from the cabs. My pedalboard shelf featured the tc chorus/flanger.

    Man those SDE-3000. Have been trying to look for one for a while now. Found 2000 which is more primitive and dirtier, but really cool anyway. I feel like in a rack like this the SPX90 kinda requires the dry line when the signal has to run through other effects after, it has such a strong low pass effect that accumulates. Also nice Dominance & Submission, great song!

    • @cliftonwright7081
      @cliftonwright7081  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a couple voodoo labs ground control units that I use to send program change messages to cycle through presets I’ve built using a combination of bypassing and preamp channel switching routed through the voodoo lab GCX Bypass looper and various sounds I’ve dialed in on the different effects units for specific tones

    • @officialpoa3171
      @officialpoa3171 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah ok, so 1 is used for presets and the other has that upgrade chip and is set to instant access mode? ... so i thought you can only control 8 midi devices eith the GCPRO?

    • @cliftonwright7081
      @cliftonwright7081  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@officialpoa3171 I only use one ground control and I usually don’t have more than 3 or 4 midi controllable units in whatever rack I have set up. Most of the programming and midi patch assigning is done in the effects units themselves. I pretty much only use basic PC but will occasionally wire in an expression pedal for something like reverb feedback or Leslie speed

    Just wanted to give you a big thumbs up for all your videos. Great player! I’m currently acquiring some vintage rack gear but not sure where to begin on the set up. I plan on using a similar set up as you have in this code. I want to use two sde3000, a spx90, an Ibanez sdr1000. I have a Samson sm10 and two rane sm26’s. Would appreciate if anyone could give me some input on how to connect this in a wet dry wet rig. I have a fryette 2502 on the way and have several tube head options for the dry cab. I also have a Suhr iso line out box to facilitate getting a line out signal from the center amps speaker. Any advice on setting this up Clifton?

    Hi, i got a question if you dont mind. with the torpedo live you dont need a power amp anymore?

    • @cliftonwright7081
      @cliftonwright7081  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s how I’ve been using it and I like it a lot! Of course you can also use it as a way to interface your vintage Marshall or anything else without a preamp-out or effects-loop with your rack and then go out of the speaker out to your dry cab. Lots of ways to use it. But yes, the power amp simulator in it sounds great and I often just use Powered full range speakers from the line mixer where the signal from the torpedo gets blended with effects

      @@ian1eh944 my signal flow is guitar > Couple pedals > Preamp > Compressor > Torpedo > single mono channel on line mixer.
      Then the aux sends from the line mixer feed the effects running 100% wet which go into channels assigned to be left and right from the stereo outs of the effects. All of that is set up to be switchable by routing it through the VOODOO LAB GCX midi controlled loop switcher.
