    This is a great idea! I was so stressed thinking I'd have to do a big chop because my hair is so uneven. I normally do option one but still suffer from split ends because different parts are different lengths. I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel! My hair resembles your hair more than other popular curly girls. Most of your methods and videos actually pertain to me and I love your channel! Keep making great videos and inspiring every one to love the power in their curls!

      Yes I have literally chopped off 2-3 inches of healthy hair because I was having an issue in one area. Before making videos I really struggled with finding girls with hair like mine and methods that work for me so I am SO happy I can be that for you ❤️ Have a great day!

    So happy to have this video💕 I lost my hair years ago after having a hair stylist straighten my virgin hair with a chemical, because I wanted a curly wash and go style. I could not find a stylist in the late eighties or early nineties. After trying many products, spending lots of time and money to get my health maintained, I have finally begun to maintain my hair using home remedies and prayer. This video is a blessing to keep growing my hair from long term damages. Thank you. I will continue to update you on my progress when I have time. My schedule is full with work, church, school and various meetings. Thank you again, God bless💌

    Very informative 🤓 Thank you for giving us different options, my hair is different lengths as well, and listening to your tips, I'm so glad I waited to cut it rather than thinking I should cut it all the same length, because I would've been losing healthy hair if I did that. Hi, new subscriber. Did you find that your frizz decreased when your hair got longer? We have similar hair types (wavy vs curly) but my roots are always frizzy but my hair is shoulder length.

  • @lilyxo6914
    @lilyxo6914 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    How do you trim your hair when it's frizzy even after you detangled and moisturized it? And also my hair is very very uneven and I want to grow it long enough before i trim it to make it equal, but it won't grow...

    • @curlynella1011
      @curlynella1011 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Lily Jean sounds like you have a lot of split ends with it staying frizzy after ir being moisturized. You shouldn't wait to get a trim and the reason it's "not growing" is because your hair is so split and damaged it is breaking off faster than it's growing. Get that trim and protective style until it grows out. You should see a big difference even with combing, less frizz and in 6 months should notice the length and overall improvement of your hair.

    • @lilyxo6914

    Heyyy loved this video . I think our textures are similar. My curls in front are very loose. In fact I had been dusting because I thought it was damage. I don't use heat at all I don't wear my hair out often. So when u showed ure ends In front my ends are exactly the same. Thank you it's not damage after all it keeps growing back the same. Sooo ill just leave it alone and let it grow 😍😘😁😁😁

      I have medium density, low porosity, fine hair that is curly and wavy. I don't hair type my curl pattern because I have so many and my hair texture has many other qualities that the hair typing system doesn't identify. Thank you so much!

    Which method do you feel is best for transitioning hair?

    • @PowerInYourCurl
      @PowerInYourCurl  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Dorrisa Walker I would use option one because it is a beginner friendly method and it's also easier to keep your hair even when you trim the same amount of hair off all your twists. It is a bit more challenging to conceal different lengths in straight hair versus curly hair. Congratulations on transitioning by the way! 🙌🏽

    Trimming your hair doesnt make it grow. Groeth comes from the roots not the end. I just dont understand why people think that's trimming their hair makes it grow?

    • @smiller4606
      @smiller4606 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Meep
      It's a misnomer. Trimming retains length, which people associate as evidence of growth. It's kind of like calling a relaxer a perm.

    • @XxXDoodiiDizzyXxX
      @XxXDoodiiDizzyXxX 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Meep because if you dont trim your hair the split ends will reach to the top of your hair and would fall out alone which doesnt give the hair the benefit of getting longer if it keeps splitting and falling, so basically trim it before it damages the whole strand

    • @flavia1112
      @flavia1112 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Meep ikr

    • @PowerInYourCurl
      @PowerInYourCurl  7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I understand that hair growth comes from your scalp and not your ends. My method of trimming is to cut off any split/dry ends and single strand knots before they have a chance to damage the length of my hair. I trim frequently compared to some people, but trimming off a very small amount of hair frequently has allowed me to retain the majority of the length that I grow and is why I call it "trimming for growth".

      kelvianna epperson I have been cutting and trimming my hair so that it is even. I don't really want to have a v-shape

  • @ms1src
    @ms1src 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why are you trimming? When hair is wet you can't tell if it needs a trim or is damaged can you? The longer pieces could have just grown faster and longer but not damaged. Do you ever have split ends beyond the ends of your hair? Most of us do so we really need to cut hair when it is dry and seek and destroy those split ends. I do not agree with this technique unless you are just trying to keep your hair lengths even for easier and smoother combing and styling.
