When this first aired,I was four. I do not remember seeing it, but I did know a lot of the Mother Goose Rhymes at that age. I remember seeing a few old Shirley Temple movies when I was 5 or 6...and when I was 6 I remember the Shirley Temple Show on Sundays. I then realized how old those movies were.(Chuckle!)
The last of a monthly series of filmed specials, originally telecast over NBC on December 21, 1958. After ABC repeated most of the original 16 "STORYBOOK" episodes during 1959 (in black and white), Shirley appeared in a new weekly series of videotaped productions on NBC's Sunday night schedule {as "THE SHIRLEY TEMPLE SHOW"} in the 1960-'61 season.
Per Charles Taylor, former TURNABOUT THEATRE Stage Manager - "Shirley Temple's Storybook Theater | Mother Goose | 1958 ~ Harry Burnett made the puppets for this episode. I have the puppets in my collection except for the Punch figure. Thank you Peter Lewis for bringing this to my attention. The Punch puppet, made by Harry Burnett, appears with Shirley Temple at 21 minutes into the show. The rest of the puppet show begins at 25 minutes into the show with the dog, cat, moon and cow from the nursery rhyme, "Hey Diddle, Diddle". Elsa Lanchester is cameoed as Mother Goose. She is delightful in that role." (Credit Charles Taylor, 2021)
This is great! No expense was spared for Shirley. Wonderful!
It is so nice to see and hear Shirley Temple sing as an adult.
I have to say, this sure is great. I especially like how Hey Diddle Diddle is a puppet show since it is my favorite nursery rhyme.
I like that they present mother goose in a realistic light.
Thanks for the upload.

You know, you could also say something about the dish and the spoon.
This is presented in color.
Do you have Shirley temple’s the legend of sleepy hollow
I wonder if there is a remastered version of this.
Do you have any of the other episodes?
Some other episodes are here on TH-cam just not on this particular channel.
I don't. I'm sorry!
I think it would be better if Old MacDonald was there.
