    I apologise for the shoddy editing on this video, I really couldn't be bothered this time :)

      Have a good time and forget about too much editing. This has a more real feel to being there.

    fun fact, at the station Ploshchad Vosstaniya you can see the image of Stalin in the form of a small figure on a bas-relief. It somehow survived de-Stalinization that followed his death.

    I remember when I was in Moscow I think I spent an entire afternoon in the Metro stations just looking around various stations. I can't remember the name of it but my favourite had a statue of a dog with a very well rubbed nose as everyone touched it as good luck !

    Some beautiful metros indeed. What I was wondering was with the huge depths these metros go, why are they this deep? and what is between the metro and the ground above? I know building foundations go so deep but not that depth, do they?

      @@AussieSpy So you are saying the ground is too soft up higher so they needed to get to bedrock I take it

    All those cameras 📷 😳 I guess it keeps the place spotless 👌

      Well to be fair Russia had some terrorist attacks on public transport in the past, so this is the new normal these days.

    Sasha, Thank you for the tour of the underground metro and rail stations . I have never been in one , and amazed how fancy they are styled , how do many people are there , and how loud they are ! Being a native of NE Florida, USA, where we were 35 feet above sea level , let me tell you that there is nothing underground . When digging a fence post you strike water at about 6 inches !
    It seems that so much money is spent on public buildings than where the citizens live !
    This was a good video . Just wondering , is a pence what we call a penny? I don’t know the British money denominations .
    Are you going to King Charles III coronation ? I’d love it if you filmed there ❣️

    • @TallTravels
      @TallTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes St Peterbsurg must be very different to Florida, although I know there is a town there of the same name ;) it's true, there are a lot of public building here with gardens that are not open to the public sadly. Yes penny and pence are similar, pence is plural

    Is it true that the sale of Alcohol is now banned on Russian Trains? I always see videos with tons of drunk people buying alcohol in The Restaurant Car ?

    • @TallTravels
      @TallTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they sell on normal trains. I once got drunk on the Moscow to Spb train, but as I recall we brought our own
