Good stuff man. I just did a 2 week 3,000 mile trip starting Memorial day weekend. A week of which I spent in Northern MN. Drove from Minneapolis to Chippewa National Forest then up to Superior National Forest. Stopped in Ely, and made my way through SNF out to the coast in Gran Marais. Awesome trail exploration every day and epic dispersed lakeside campsites almost every night. Spent a day checking out the North Shore down to Duluth where I spent a couple nights in a hotel before heading East to the UP. Minnesota is an AWESOME state for overlanders. I loved it there. Highly recommend.
I had to laugh when you said that using a RTT was an "elevated experience."
I do think that trips like that really help figure out what works best for a hardcore overlanding adventure. Plus, sometimes, it's fun just to get out and enjoy a simple camping trip, especially with a loving wife, a loyal dog and the occasional good friend along for the excursion, it doesn't get much better than that. Great video! I’ve been liking that front runner kitchen kit, I’m currently using just bagged utensils from my kitchen haha. Any chance you know what pour over kit your friend was using? Been needing one and it looks great

do you plan on utilizing any of the space above the roam container?
Let me rephrase this: Do you plan on doing anything other than stacking stuff on the case, or do you find that works well enough?
I find it works ok...something hanging from the shelf could be slick but I feel I am maxing the weight. Its kind of loss space in the name of modularity when I'm home not camping. You could build some kind of plywood box to fit over it for trips but stacking stuff has worked ok. Soft bags like those roam cubes or duffles work great.

I have an unrelated question. Do you ever had the driver side lean on your 4runner? Mine is lifted 3" and has aboit 5/8" of lean (driver side is lower). Do you think a rear spring spacer and adjustable front suspension will help?
