I've never really thought of myself as a photographer, though I worked at the Walmart Portrait Studio years and years ago, but without even realizing there was a name for it... I DO flatlays for EVERYTHING! LOL Halloween costumes, creative art/science projects, my daughter's and son's proms, homecomings, graduations and recitals!!! I thought it was just me! You have given me the gift of vocabulary! "Flatlay photos." I agree they are such a great way to capture, preserve and share all those special details.
@@cavinelizabeth That's very kind to say. I'm not sure, but I do find it easier to position and shoot still-life than to capture live action. :D Thank you for all you wonderful videos and advice, I've been gobbling them up.
This is INCREDIBLE - I came here looking for props for my shoots, saw your article and was like "that's the same stuff Cavin used when we were in Jamaica..." click this link and BOOM there you are! Ha! Love it, hope you're well Cavin, cheers to you!
I really loved all these tips, it’s really helpful to know so I can help make sure my photographer has what they need! Also considering putting my cats name as the name on the invitation
I'm obsessed with flat lays!!! 😃😃😃😃 Thank you for this super helpful and inspirational video. I love your work and personality so much (pity I live all the way in South Africa... A photographer like you is a dream).
Would love to see you do a tutorial on how to do flat lays and what to bring in a flat lay kit. I love flat lays and that is something I would love to have set up for my photographer, in case they don’t have the same level of detail you do
I don’t know if there’s enough material for an entire video on this, but do you have any recommendations on ways to include people in your wedding without having them be a part of the wedding party? The only option I can think of is “manning” the guest book-but I’d love to hear other ideas for roles in the wedding!
I've had a hard time finding a place to get antique stamps for the envelope in my flatlay. I used regular postage on my mailings, so the stamps needed are only for the envelope for the flat lay - that's it. They all want to sell me a minimum quantity, it seems. All I need is about 6-8 pretty stamps, each different from each other, that's it, LOL Any ideas how to get around this? My wedding is in about 7 weeks.
Your flatlays are so lovely ❤️
Glad you like them!
I was actually just thinking about this! Such a good idea for a video
:)
Oh awesome! I had not even thought about this, and this is so important! Thank you for making a video addressing it!
You are so welcome!

Try Etsy or eBay. I also like little postage house www.littlepostagehouse.com/vintage-postage-curated-collections
