    I love these tutorials where you talk through an actual shoot and the post edit. Super helpful and very watchable. I like that you admit to mistakes. It makes me feel better knowing it still happens to pros.😂
    I have the same flash accessory kit. I love the diffuser and grid but haven’t used the barn door yet. I’m encouraged to try it now as I liked the effect you achieved.

      So happy it’s helpful for you! Would love if you could share with any wedding groups you’re in ☺️
      Haha and yeah we all make mistakes!!

    Flat lays of details are definitely where I struggle on a wedding day. Getting balance in composition and colours seem to elude me. I'm working on it, and I know I'll get there. Especially with videos like this to help! Thanks VJ!

      Hope this helps! I have longer version with more igniting variations coming out on photo insiders soon!

    Fantastic tutorial. Never felt a need to get barn doors for my A1X until now.

    Have you ever used an ND gel to cut down flash power? Like, if you wanted just a kiss of light in a certain area on a detail shot, etc.

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not I haven’t ☺️ it’s an option for sure if the lowest power setting isn’t doing it for ya!

    I'm excited for this. Just clicked, and I constantly go back and forth between whether I should do natural light or flash, and I've finally decided on flash. Curious to see where you land!

    Love this Vanessa ty!!!! How do you size your photos? I just size my proofs all as 5x7 then change as needed when ordering . I see you edited one then hit previous. Are you syncing the photos that way so they are all the same or do you use the sync button when wanting certain shots to look the same? Ty

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I export at max resolution :-) I just used previous in this case since it was easiest going from one to the next - but if I were doing bulk I would sync them

    Do the Chasing Stone flat lays travel easily? More specifically, are they easy to unroll, lay flat, use, and then roll up again?

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup! They’re great. Have a case any everything

    Hello Vanessa. Congrats for your excellent channel and videos, we love it. Quick question for you. What STABILIZER MODE are you using (1-2-3) when you are shooting weddings? Thanks in advance.

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m going to go ahead and assume 1 because I’ve never changed it to anything else

    Great vid! Do you find this process being the same on a carpeted floor vs. hardwood flooring?

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s pretty much the same if you have a good layflat mat

    Do the brides let you bring this stuff home or do you take all these props to the wedding?

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I bring it and and sometimes brides have a few things. I’ll always work with what my bride has first

    I must admit I never heard the term “flat lay,” so the video title threw me for a bit. We generally called it shooting the accessories.

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha and I usually call it a “group detail photo” or lay flat - and then no one ever knows what I’m talking about 😂

    c'mon that's just ridiculou,s how are you going to take all those things to weddings, someone has to draw the line. its a no no for me

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t take allllll of it. I ask what their wedding colors are beforehand and take what will match ☺️ usually it fits right into my camera bag
