- The plaintiff lived in a two-family home that the defendant purchased. She says she gave the defendant plenty of notice before she moved out, but now the defendant won’t return her security deposit. She’s suing for her deposit back. The defendant argues the plaintiff never gave her the deposit directly and she never got money from the previous owner. She doesn’t think she owes the plaintiff anything.

Id be willing to bet that yes, you can! Not sure of the statute of limitations, but I'd say about 5 years is a good rule of thumb

@mickm6309 no see the more pertinent question is what jurisdiction is he a judge in, because given his infinite wisdom about the legal system he must be a judge rather than just a lowly lawyer. And he would NEVER be a biased judge ruling solely in favor of the person who happens to share something as mundane as an increased melanin count with him. If he could just let us all know what jurisdiction he's presiding over so we can avoid him like the plague on humanity that he is.
