Loved Nika's mindset. Forget about expectations. Just put in the work.
Rickea is right. That's something that Angel learned early, was that you have to initiate the contact and embrace the physicality in the W. Her growth will be interesting because she's so skilled and such a finesse ball player.
she can do both. she always talks about using her strength and physicality against smaller defenders and using her speed and skill against bigger, slower defenders. let's go sparks!
Seattle is not working for Nika. She needs to move out of Seattle. Don't understand why they select her if they don't have roster for her.
@@user-qs2br2jl4x just have patience. Rookies normally don't play, unless the team is rebuilding. The Storm are contending for a title. Contenders normally don't play rookies. She will have her time to play next year. I'm so excited for her to grow and develop.
Seattle is working out for Nika, or they'd have waived her. Look at how many 2nd and 3rd round draftees are still on rosters. Almost none. They w ould love to be on a team developing skills in practice and getting paid. She can get stronger in the offseason
Love this…but 15-20 minutes for parts 2-4, ok? These four rookies have such unique perspectives and I want to see even more!!! Thanks in advance!
Oh and absolutely looovvvee Rickea!!! She’s my fave! But they’re all 🔥🔥
This class is super special. I hate that Cam Brink got injured because the Sparks drafted two future all-stars. Rickea has superstar potential.
I loved this so much. I hope you guys keep this up while also posting for more players as years go on.
Great documentary, wish yall did a better job at marketing/advertising it, but it is what it is 💯.
I think Dearicka Hamby need her own episode. I love Hamby.
It’s about rookies bub
*dearica
Love the WNBA. It's only gonna keep rising like all women's sports. Also DAMN these selection ceremonies
They started with the ABCs...
Rookie from America, rookie from Brazil, and one from Croatia 😂
Love the clip selections of the rookies as they develop in the #wnba a great class that brought their college fandom to the league...
This group is talented af! I can’t wait to see how they grow💙
my nik
Beautiful young ladies 🎉 and absolute dawgs on the court 😎
Now THIS is the content we wanna see!! 👏🏾👏🏾
Can’t wait for the next episode. Love this
Missed opportunity not having Kate Martin's story in this series
Rickea came the most league ready. Seeing her just makes it that much sadder that she won’t get to have her rookie season with Cameron. Those two together were already so much fun to watch.
The culture in Seattle seems like a great fit for Nika but they have so much talent that she’s not getting any real playing time. Chicago could really use a point guard but I’m not sure if the culture would be as good a fit. That’s the bad part about going to a really good team as a rookie, though the Aces do seem to be working in a good amount of playing time for Kate Martin.
I feel you don't get it's a good thing she didn't have to carry the load for a team as a rookie. She is a 2nd rd pick on a loaded Seattle team. Unlike Chicago and LA who needed their rookies to start and have significant mins. So she just gets to study the game before she has to play significant mins
@@donovan7102 When a big says it's tough to learn everything, it's doubly tough for a PG. They're the floor general and have to know *everything*.
chicago has a great point guard in Chennedy. Seattle is pretty stacked in the guard position but she could get playing time there still. It's called depth. That will be useful when the playoffs begin. Nika has an amazing opportunity to develop. She has a team willing to invest in that development. That's rare.
@@shonduhsings The main thing that makes it hard for her to get mins is Seattle goes 9 deep without her and most teams rotation only need to about 9 people deep. So her and Kiana sadly get the garbage time or no time at all.
@@donovan7102 I agree with your insight as well as your comment above. It is a blessing in disguise really. She gets to develop and build on her game without the pressure that other rookies have. I still think she has bright future. Even if she was getting significant minutes I don't think she would have made that much of an impact.
I hope the Storm give Nika some solid minutes instead of just posting her fits on social media for engagement
Would be great if the Storm would allow Nika the chance to grow and prove herself. I get it they have Diggins-Smith and Loyd ..but maybe split the time with Sami Whitcomb, to see what she can do ?
She’ll get more time next year. She’s with a great coach who knows what she’s doing. Give it time
See that doesn't really work for a couple reasons. Nika is still just getting started so she is not gonna play 10-15 mins right away because that's not what Seattle needs her to do. Also Horston and Vivians along side Sami jump in at the 1-3 spots so Nika doesn't get back up mins either. Until she proves that she can handle their responsibilities she will get no more than 5-7 mins
@@donovan7102thank you. Ppl are not getting this. Ppl see Reese, Edwards, Cardoso starting and don’t get that the teams they’re on picked them bc they needed those roles filled. Nika is on a team that has guards and back ups. Just give it time. She’s gna get her moment but like she said she’s grateful and soaking in the opportunity that she has in Seattle to play w talented vets for a championship minded org
Gotta get some better refs now. LOL.. Seriously.. so many missed fouls when I watch its crazy...
FR
I love documentaries but I would prefer to see more off the court scenes.
It was interesting!
It should be longer!
Bruh not enough Angel for me
Relax it's 10 episodes so I guess we will hear and see her more 😄
too much
@@comfortsheriff1352it’s actually only 4 episodes
bot
Love Jackson, Reese, & Cardoso ❤️ Three of my favorite players. More of these episodes!
Nice❤
Real Question - What’s with wrapping one whole entire leg?
This was a tease
They basically just added Angel's name for the clicks. She's not even on this.
WNBA more of this please! 🔥🔥
Lots more of this.
❤❤❤❤❤
0:02 He likes what hje sees! lol
HAPPY GLIZZY DAY...🌭🤑🌏✌🏾🇺🇲🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭
6 minutes? Boo. Longer.
where clark at ?
She probably didn't want more press obligations
On literally every nationally televised game 😂 they will probably have her on another episode or they just wanted to shine the light on rookies that aren’t getting as much love.
Nika is still marketable and the fact that Bird is now in a management position helps. It's tough for any player in the W or even the NBA that is the 10th and higher player on the bench to stick. You do not improve without playing and they are basically practice players. Hard to prove yourself in practice when they are basically walk thrus. Also for Nika, Seattle has Diggins and Loyd arguably the best backcourt in the W. She was given a 4 year contract but again her market ceiling is still high. Without her playing that will eventually wear off. I think they will move on from Nika by middle of next season if not sooner. She be better off in Europe.
She'd play with Chicago their point guards are 🗑
@@Brolic123 I don't know Seattle's views on this, but Nika needs to play sometime soon, just to merge with the team. She won't be of much use to them if they don't let her get used to that role and the other players to her style. If they can't or won't do that, then she would be better to trade elsewhere after the season. But right now, staying with a team that could win the championship might be a great highlight to whatever comes next for her.
I agree. Megan Gustafson improved immensely playing in the Euroleague.
@@Brolic123huh Chennedy Carter been crazy good though
@@Brolic123they aren’t trash lol. Dana Evans has had a rough start this year but she’s a champion as of just a couple seasons ago. Chennedy is a top five guard in the league. Diamond same as Dana. A champion who is coming off injury. Lindsay Allen is also not a scrub. She has improved the team in this past few games she’s started. It’s just a rebuild year. They will be fine.
No Martin or Clark? Interesting.
@@gnayr1305 yeah and no Aaliyah Edwards, or Jacy Sheldon, or Marquesha Davis, or Cam Brink… you know some other rookies. Bc the W choose to do a an interview only highlighting two rookies for this piece.
not everything is about clark and kate SIR
Iowa fans are a cancer to wbb
Wow! Nika M is very beautiful
They all are.
Stop using my 👑Queen Angel name for clicks WNBA
Facts.. They barely showed her. Definitely clickbait
Weird...i feel like they are forgetting someone....
@@Patrunos yeah Angel Reese, Aaliyah Edwards, Jacy Sheldon, Marquesha Davis, Kamilla Cardoso, Cam Brink, A Pilli
Just wish the storm would let her play more time the only let her play for like the last min of the game so fucced up let her SHINE STORM ⛈️
i wonder if we had a country wide tournament of an amateur men’s basketball team. then we put them up against the worst record team in the wnba. and we see if the best amateur team could beat the worst wnba team
You need to get busy acclimating to deez.
No one watches the WNBA, people watch Caitlyn Clark, so stop kidding yourselves...
And yet you’re commenting and watching a video not about her. Dont watch the W if youre not interested about other people
There won’t be a year two for Nika.
yikes.
Everyone hates you
😂😂😂 What is the league folding? Nika has the attitude and potential of a future all-star. Assist monster and defense with incredible hustle, heart and willingness to sacrifice. There is a reason she is UCONN's all-time assist leader. Beating out UCONN and Storm great Sue Bird...
@@nhart5132 I totally agree with you! Nika for one thing is humble, she is there to learn. I watched her entire college run, she is a beast!
@@nhart5132 the reason she is the all time assist leader? she played with a bunch of wnba first round picks.
the reason she is still on a team? Geno and Sue Bird. That's it. There are better players signed and waived every day. Seattle traded Jade Melbourne (who is better).
The people mad at the Bronny nepotism should be mad about the Nika nepotism.
