What Lexi says is interesting. Clark, Brink (until injury), Edwards, Cardosa, Jackson and Reese are all getting playing time. As someone who followed Clark to the WNBA, it's been fun keeping up with all of the rookie glass that I came to know, while Iowa was playing in the NCAA tournament the past few years. As I've kept track of all of them, I also now feel ike I know a significant amount of the WNBA vets. Where as if Clark had sat on the bench her rookie year, I wouldn't have payed attention to any of the other teams or players.

Cardoso has been injured and isn't even fully in basketball shape yet. Those two with Chennedy Carter (who deserved to be an all star) are the core of that team for the future.

Reese shooting percentage just went up to 39. It was hanging around 33% for most of the season. Caitlin's has come down due to a couple of games where her 3s weren't falling. A post player who doesn't really shoot farther than the restricted area shooing in the 30s for percentage is not a rookie of the year. A co-rookie of the year would seem like trying to keep other players happy.

Reese came up to 39% due to a couple of games where she was made around 50% of her shots. Which considering her position should be in the 40s if you make concessions for being a rookie. Watching her play though, it's evident why her shooting percentage is so low. She's very clumsy in how she plays. A good post player in either league should not be shooting the same percentage as a guard who is a heavy 3 ball shooter. Look at Cardoso. She's also 1st year and shooting 44%.

And playing better than what those stars did their 1st year. Everybody knows the turnovers will need to come down. And that will come. She's the main cog for her team in ball handling, assists, and scoring. Besides the top players in the league for assists are also the top players in the league for turnovers. And that's not mentioning how each player is playing. An assist where all you need to do is lob into a dominating post player is not the same as the assists that Caitlin Clark makes.

This surge in the WNBA doesn't have anything to do with the rookie class. It has all to do with Caitlin Clark. After winning the NCAA tournament championship Dawn Staley never mentioned Angel Reese or the rookie class as participants in growing women's basketball. Dawn specifically mentioned ONE NAME OVER THE PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM. YES, talk about Angel Reese from a local level perspective but not from a global level perspective alongside Caitlin Clark. As a Black man, I am embarrassed every time our people do that because it makes us look weak and disingenuous. Let Angel earn her spot as a face of the league - I believe she can and will do it. But her impact on the league ain't a Caitlin Clark impact. Don't just give it to Angel as if it is a participation trophy. That is all that I am saying. When I hear this premature "growing the league, too" talk it makes me think about D.E.I. - get in even if we don't fit in. I want Angel to earn her's, too. Caitlin is different from every other White WNBA player in the league and out of the league. Must some of our people hate her for that. Must the White Supremacy boogie man haunt us even when he ain't there? Caitlin Clark is a floor general as well as a long jumpshot shooter. As Black folks we don't like getting downplayed, so, let's not downplay others. At least don't lie about it. You reap that which you sow.

The rest of the WNBA now knows who’s generating the buzz. I voted for the first time ever and didn't hesitate to start with Clark. I don’t even vote for NBA All-Stars, but in my very first season watching the WNBA, I felt compelled to vote.

What Lexi says is interesting. Clark, Brink (until injury), Edwards, Cardosa, Jackson and Reese are all getting playing time. As someone who followed Clark to the WNBA, it's been fun keeping up with all of the rookie glass that I came to know, while Iowa was playing in the NCAA tournament the past few years. As I've kept track of all of them, I also now feel ike I know a significant amount of the WNBA vets. Where as if Clark had sat on the bench her rookie year, I wouldn't have payed attention to any of the other teams or players.

Caitlin's has come down due to a couple of games where her 3s weren't falling.
A post player who doesn't really shoot farther than the restricted area shooing in the 30s for percentage is not a rookie of the year.
A co-rookie of the year would seem like trying to keep other players happy.

Everybody knows the turnovers will need to come down. And that will come. She's the main cog for her team in ball handling, assists, and scoring. Besides the top players in the league for assists are also the top players in the league for turnovers.
And that's not mentioning how each player is playing.
An assist where all you need to do is lob into a dominating post player is not the same as the assists that Caitlin Clark makes.

YES, talk about Angel Reese from a local level perspective but not from a global level perspective alongside Caitlin Clark. If it is a tie relatively stastically, it comes down to charisma, Reese hands down. If Clark starts to help her team win against this tough schedule coming up, it could be Clark, but hell no to co-mvp, somebody gotta lose and somebody has to win.
