I'll say it again . Will Primo is a great man . I hope Will sees this message . Thank you sir for the many years of enjoyment of watching your outdoor shows .
Just love watching you guys call turkeys…love to call them myself as well and have been a box caller consistently for many years..recently cot some quality hearing aids…back in the woods!!!❤️
I had to go back and watch this again. I bought one of the Gibson boxes at one of the banquets. I carried it to Will Primos and got him to sign it. He asked what I was going to do with it and I told him I planned on taking hunting a few times. He lit up. I did take it and oppening day of turkey season I killed a nice 3 year old with it using my late best friends model 12. I will always remember that hunt.
The Intro music to Primos "The Truth about Hunting" always takes me back to growing up. My dad would take me to the local movie rental. Luckily the owner was hunter as well. I'd search for any videos I hadn't seen. Wasn't long and I was renting the same movies over and over. Been hooked since I was a kid. Hope they always keep the same theme music.
The first turkey called for me was with a cedar box call my great grand daddy made out of a hunk of cedar, based on the Gibson call. I was 9 years old with my Paw Paw calling for me. My great grand daddy died beside a tree from a heart attack calling a bird in with that box call. My Paw Paw has passed away and his son (my uncle)has the call to this day. The last bird I killed I called with a box call. They have a special place in our family. Last year I called up the State record atypical Eastern turkey in Florida using nothing but a box call.
God bless you Will! You’ve done so much for our heritage! But for me, you e made me a successful avid hunter by making the best dang calls on the market! Good hunting this season it’s coming quick!!!!
Nice. A few years before my dad passed away he made me a box call out of mesquite wood. I've never had anything to compare it too but I have called in and harvested 3 gobblers with it. Great video, fellas!
Beautiful sound on that Gibson Replica! I have a Ernest Cotton Memorial Box that was completed by Gary Daniel that sounds Sooo much like that Replica!! I really have not taken it out because it is a # 19 of only 25 made back in 2001. Made for the old American Wild Turkey Society. Probably worth alot of money- but it is going out in Spring 2001 after hearing that Gibson Replica!!
Was fortunate to get one of these. Sounds like hell. But even most of the originals did as well. Still, a VERY cool piece to add to my collection. Box calls sure have come a long way. Not sure gobblers really care though.
That’s the greatest. Turkey hunting in our blood for sure

Great video, lots of history there, never realized, any of those reproductions coming up to the CWTF banquets?
What is the name of the song right at the beginning and from 6:55 to 7:43?
I'm sure that Gibson replecia will be available to john q turkey hunter pretty soon?
They only were made for the NWTF banquets but you should be able to find one on Ebay.
What double barrel does will use?
That gun in the video is a 16 gauge Purdy. He talked like he hunts with it fairly often.
