That's my home area and I love it to bits. I enjoy driving down the escarpment although it's a nightmare for first timers. An exhilarating experience for those who love driving.
You're right, that curve is very dangerous. We nearly got killed there by a certain guy who was over speeding without knowing of such a hazard ahead. I've traveled to many places in Zimbabwe, including the eastern highlands but that curve is something else. I think it's the sharpest curve in the country
The same applies to this Bakasa-Mahuwe road. Passes through Mamvuradona mountain. Bakasa is in the valley called Dande. Between Mahuwe and Mashumbi pools, there is a national park (Sangojena)..After Mashumbi pools there is Kanyemba border..still in the valley.
Of all the dangerous roads that i have travelled this one was a nightmare. A lot of people perished especially before independence when it was not paved
I love the video. It brings me great memories. I used to drive a kombi from Harare to Guruve, proceed to Bakasa then pass through Mudzimundiringe like you mentioned then down to Mahuwe after the little police post with the boomgate. The from there drive through Sangojena sometimes or use another route through Mhokwe and Karai then Mushumbi pools, Angwa bridge and finally Kanyemba. I would also go to Chikafa from Mushumbi on the Zim Moza border or from Mahuwe via Sapi bridge to Chidodo again on the Zim Moza border. Quite an extraordinary place, the Zambezi Valley. Well worth visiting. That was in 2010. I can see a few things have changed since then
Is this not alpha trail, muzarabani area, because last I went was in April 1999, I know there was good wildlife in the area like the big 4, what’s your say on the wildlife there?
if the road is sorted it wont be that dangerous... last time i drove thru this area at night... i saw a lot of wild animals... imagine if u get a tyre puncture.... 😊😊... beautiful scenery though
Amazing, massive reforestation still needs to be done, if and when it is reconstructed, it’s easily going to be one of the best roads in Africa. Maybe even a Safari formula 1 event, road testing for new super cars.
escapement better known as WAFA WAFA in military training that place isn't just dangerous with sharp curves, dangerous animals as well if you ever have a break down within that area you have to stay inside the car otherwise you can be the meal for lions let alone elephants which break the tents of truck loaded with food . anyone who can be found walking this area can be given lift with the very first vehicle passing through up to tsetse control area nearby chirundu boarder
Point of correction, the distance to mbire 287km, there about, and Ivan never drive 2 hours from Harare, 2 hours will take you to Mt Darwin if u are really fast, because of the roads , the average or slightly above average driver takes 4 hours to drive to Mbire……..a good area to come but don’t mislead people by encouraging them to invest there using inaccurate data, there isn’t much that people would drive 4 hours from Harare for, that’s why there isn’t very little investment there
my good sir I had driven for 2 hours up to the point I was recording that video in the Zambezi escarpment. The distance is 287km if you go via Muzarabani, I used the Guruve which is shorter. If you want to challenge my stats come and pick me up in Harare and we will measure together
I am not sure about the idea of a lodge...... That area is sacred. Rinoera gomo iroro. And if you keep going on that road, it takes you to Zambia, Mozambique across Zambezi river
If it is a big oil find then you can be assured that the USA will start strengthening relations with Zimbabwe very quickly.
Chinyika chakanaka mhani ichi. Imagine the beauty of nature in the rain season. Thank you Mr Źim❤❤❤❤❤
Maybe more dangerous in rainy season
Problem chiri kutongwa nemadhimoni
Oh dear those curves. I believe with modern engineering we can rebuild this road and eliminate most of these curves. Good scenic
Hongu. Anoyenda mazuva ose. Ini ndiri pa Chitsungo Mission. Zvakanaka mabiyangu wee.
Take me home country roads to the place I belong.... Love the videos Mr Ambassador Zim
Roads less traveled are adventurous. Surrounded by nature is so therapeutic. Life is good. Love the video. Ty Mr Zim 🇿🇼, u are a bright beacon 🙏🙏
Thanks Mhopi😃
Road to Chimanimani, serious curves there

Honde valley as well in eastern highlands
Also try Shurugwi from town to Peak mine. The road has some serious sharp curves. And it's also along the Great Dyke
Many thanks!
Nice content, i pray for the liberation of internet in Zimbabwe so that many people can be able to use TH-cam and view channels like this.
Thank you so much!
Starlink has been approved rollout last quarter of the year

Road maintenance is needed
the most dangerous road in zim after makuti escarpment
Dangerous driving
Draught has been very bad this year, it’s so dry
Mudzimundiringe means ancestors watch over me.
