Hi Guys,
Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a wonderful week. What did you guys do last week? My Dutch friend Daphne Groeneveld was in town and we did some activities outside which was really nice! I wish I would enjoy more of my time out but we have been working a lot at home!
Last week I went to New York City for a modeling job and extended the trip a couple of extra days. I was at first a little nervous to go back because I didn't really know what to expect since I had never been back since I moved away. The travel and the 4 day quarantine was honestly not that bad and despite the cold the city did feel alive! I was grateful that I was able to travel and switch up the change of scenery a little bit.
How are you guys doing during this Pandemic? Do you feel 2021 is getting better or worse?
On the positive side, for all my Asian subscribers here I want to say Happy Lunar New Year! I wish everyone all the love, luck and good health this year. I wanted to celebrate this with you guys with a delicious home made dumpling recipe Jessie's mum gave us.

Mom’s Dumplings🥟
1 package ground Chicken
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp salt
1 tsp mirin optional
1 tbsp dry sake
black pepper
1 tsp ginger
1 egg
1/2 cup chopped scallion
1/3 cup chopped Cilantro optional
Cornstarch optional to help with moisture
1 tbsp sesame oil
For chicken filling - mix all in a bowl
Vegetarian
4 scrambled eggs
2 oz dried shiitake Mushroom chopped finely
6 Minced baby carrot
1 pack Chives
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soy sauce
Dash black pepper
1 tsp mirin
1 teaspoon sesame oil
For Egg Dumpling Filling (Vegetarian):
• Heat up oil in pan. Pour in the egg when the oil smokes. Dish out as soon as there is no more liquid. Coarsely chop when it cools down.
• Add Chinese chive, shiitake mushroom, minced carrot, salt, soy sauce, mirin, black pepper, and sesame oil. Mix well.
• Make dumplings!
Dipping sauce
3 tbsp Soy sauce
1 tbsp coconut sugar
Chili oil optional
1/2 tsp Sesame oil
Chopped Garlic
Chopped chives
Cilantro

When I pan fry dimsum, I mix in cornstarch with the water to add extra crunch. Also when I steam them, I place cabbage on the bottom of the steamer to avoid any sticking.

hi sanne! my mom always buys the peels at the store for convenience but you can also make it with about 2 cups of whole wheat flour and about 1/2 cup of warm water!! super easy dumpling skins :)

Thank you! I really find it almost offensive...I mean, I am glad for her but she travelled to Holland and Italy and doesn't even mention the pandemic. I am living in the States but am a European citizen and I have not been allowed to visit my home country in over a year-- I would need permission in case of a death or an emergency to visit home. It is incredibly tone-deaf to be so matter-of-fact about travelling when so many cannot even see their family and so many people have died. But at least she is, according to her friend Jason, Doing fu*%ing great!! (see Italy vlog)
I have so many good memories of making dumplings with my family!! I'm gluten free so I make my own dumpling wrappers with oat flour! Your guys' look delicious!

So crazy to see this. Germany is in full lockdown since months, mainly because of the threat of mutations. Everythings been closed for such a long time, weird to see you guys going shopping and stuff. No offense, it's such a crazy time we're in.

Hi Sanne! you look beautiful! if I may advice, sunscreen (adequate amount) is the best tool for controlling pigmentation. if you use other products for pigmentation, the best is to apply before the oil. oils are very occlusive and it is difficult that other ingredients get into the skin

those were dumplings. but to be accurate, gyoza(japanese) MEANS dumplings. dumplings or the same as gyoza originated in china so if you want to correct sanne, in this case what you just said doesn't make any sense
