I'm from north Norway and now we are fishing king crab and our qoute is 10 ton with a price of £55/kilo and we started a week ago and have caught 1/3 of it already. My boat is 30 feet long and I have only space for 30 pots but they are a bit larger too because of the size of the king crab. Those are 1,2x1,2 m2 and 0,9 m high.
Good video but those traps look like they’re junk. Maybe that’s what works there for whatever reason, but I’d love to get him some brandy new Maine style Hoovers
We use bait box , or bags . We use American wire traps and homemade wood trap . Wooden trap got to have good bait , now wire gear lobsters trap use any kind bait . We find wooden traps lobsters pot better . We can’t fish lobster 🦞 and snow crabs 🦀 together. There a lobster license and crab license we got tail out and tail in with the government inspected for under load snow crabs 🦀. 😊
I saw. A video. From Orkneys. About. A crab. Boat. Brown crab. Or. Edible crab ! One. Trip. They caught. 16. Tons which. Were. Sold on continent. For. 2. Euros. Each crab. How long. Before depleted !???
They’re not base plates, they are bullhead chairs and the railway sold thousands of these for peanuts, so accusing someone of stealing them is a bit much when you have no proof. Difference between a baseplate and a bullhead chair-bullhead rail sits in a chair as apposed to flat bottom rail sits on a baseplate.

Haha. He has a mix of old and new.
These were the old. :)
@@PeopleandPlacesTV haha thanks for the reply. And trust me, I understand dealing with old gear
@evergreen4034 no problem buddy! The trials of a fisherman :)
Would those few crab and couples lobster pay for fuel and gas.
Definitely. Even though it was a very light catch day in bad weather, the catch pays for itself and more.
Full watch from somewhere close to Fort Knox, Kentucky U.S.A. I make daily post of mostly wildlife if you like nature.
Thanks for watching and good luck with channel!

Nice stolen railway base plate u got there as an "anchor" lol

Rough going for a 100 lobsters 🦞 trap . Newfoundland are having big catch this lobster season. Down to $7 per / lbs now . 😊
Would love to come out east to Newfoundland one day. Was a pot catch after big storms but still a fine day on the water
How do pay for bait and diesel with 4 lobsters 🦞? Bad day on Newfoundland side is 1000 lbs day .
Brilliant video
Thanks so much!
