sometimes I forget how much effort and money these episodes take, and how good they are considering VLDL is essentially just a youtube channel with production on par with like, maybe B movies
Espesially the movie, they made It was a really great video
They are using production grade equipment, red cameras and that comment about being able to see the camera feed on their phone means they also have a red phone as well. I honestly have no idea how they have the budget for all of the equipment, staff, and after effects. Rocketjump, and LTT are the other two youtubers who also use red to shoot in 8k to downsample to 4k.
So So SO much better than B movies.
@@Bremend I believe that's what the kickstarter was about... Budget for all the studio grade stuff, to populate the new studio.
@@Bremend They get money from patreon, youtube views, sponsors, and their some funding from their kickstarter likely went into upgrading equipment too. It's honestly crazy that a youtube channel has this production value
Props to the stunt woman. That fight scene came out awesome.
I'm actually impressed that there is almost no CGI at all. Like, the whole village, background woods etc. is all real stuff. That's serious dedication and crafting skills.
Edit: as this has blown up quite a bit: I'm not talking about the money aspect at all. I'm just referring to the high visual quality which is insane, considering that there is almost no CGI at all but some Post-Processing.
It's probably cheaper too at this quality.

I would like to call out that when the girl was being pulled back by the wires a guy was in the back ground as a safety. Love the level a precaution being made for the crew. Nice work!
Man, the production value that's gone into this channel is insane, from just a few skits in a retail store to now many stories, some with even movie quality real visual effects! Keep it up!

I am continually amazed by how much with each video the quality level improves (they were pretty great to begin with), and VLDL don't even have their studio yet! Hollywood better watch out, there's a new player in town, and they're catching up fast, really fast.
Some old polish fur trader (A. Sapkowski) wrote a short fantasy story for a competition in "Fantastyka" magazine reward (he got 3rd place lol). Then he was asked by his son to keep writing about some "Witcher", cuz his son found it's a cool story.
Look where it brought us.
As a Pole I can look at my feet and say "So great, that people down there can also enjoy having fun with what old Andrew wrote".

They recently had a fundraiser which was over 1 million.
The Fundraiser was for the studio. Patreon, that they mention in the video helps pay for this sort of thing.
Who ever played the sheep did a really good job ! The costumes look very realistic.

Glad to see you guys clearly enjoying the work. I remember working two shoots with one being a two day. That's 36 hours of straight work. But I got home at the end of it all smiling because it wasn't 36 hours of "going to work". Getting into that flow and just watching all this seemly chaotic display all click together once the camera is rolling does not get old.
I thought most of the potion overdose effects were make-up but it was all motion tracked CG. That's next level film making.
What a unique and quality production team!

I don't know about anyone else but if you're in the middle of the beautiful Woods why would you want to wear a mask you got to take in the outdoors take in the flowers take in Natural Earth smell the different smells of the forest that's what it's all about and you take that away with the mask

I want to give all of you a MASSIVE congratulations!!! I’m actually a bit lost for words to express just how proud I am of all of you and your dedication to this and your other channels. I mean, it’s really quite amazing to see that behind the scenes a truly professional film studio is making media/content that’s “just” (mostly) a few minutes long for each release. You all demand the very best in order to entertain all of us with what I truly believe is indeed some of the best “content” (really, unyieldingly very high quality filmmaking) out there, TH-cam or otherwise! I know I speak for many, many people when I say that we are blessed to see the amazing films and content you all make for yourselves and for us.

Everything hey, the music, the sets, the costumes, the acting, the goddess in the blue dress (stunning) and the bruxa character, the fight scene, just wow. So much time and effort and it looks amazing. You are creating quite the legacy to be enjoyed for years to come

Out of curiosity, how long ago was this made? Wearing masks outside seems more like late 2020 guidelines
Was made in early 2022.
New Zealand is having a big wave of Covid at the moment and we want to keep our cast, crew, friends and families safe and healthy so we’ve decided to have a strong mask policy on set ☺️
Also if we get sick during filming - no more videos for you 😬

I don’t think this guy is even making a huge point on masking, but it is an important question.
Being outside wearing a mask has been deemed to be essentially useless by the CDC and WHO. Even following them like religious scripture, you’d see that’s it okay to be maskless outside.
Regardless of this, I appreciate you guys the best of luck and sincerely hope all of your families remain healthy!

I started watching vldl 6 years ago… I guess almost 7. It’s been amazing to see how the channel has gone from a couple guys on their free time to a full blown production company. I’m excited to see what the new studio brings

Great production as always! That said, there are really a lot of people involved in the whole process. I would like to see some credits at the end of the videos (or maybe the video description if it makes the videos too long). It's good that you did it for Baelin's Route at least. But having no credits at all for the normal shorter videos gives the impression that it's just you guys and some actors doing everything. But that's clearly not the case, so please give credit where credit is due.
Having followed this channel for a long time when it was just a few dudes making comedy skits about video games.. this channel has come so far.

It´s still not over for some parts of the world, NZ for example is having a big wave of Covid at the moment, so yeah, protecting the cast, crew, families and everyone is crucial for everybody in and around VLDL.

As a filmmaker myself I really appreciate these BTS. However - do you really have to wear the face masks even in the outside? I mean, would make sense back in 2020 or even 2021, but now and in the woods? No idea what the regulations are like in NZ, but this feels ccompletely over the line to me. Nevertheless - thumbs up, great work!
I thought it was funny that the actors are somehow immune while on screen or getting make-up done, but still need their mask at other times.
