I've been in a Subaru Forester Premium for 2 years. I've been looking for luxury. The cadillac xt5 is too expensive imho and I love my Subaru. So today I went & test drove a subaru forester touring. That seems to be my answer. Now I can part with my subaru because I'm replacing it with a subaru.
Sad that the top of the line touring is lacking features. No ventilated seats, no wirless carplay and no wirless phone charging. Ridiculous for a 35k forester. Who does subaru want to buy forester 70 year olds.
Great review.... very informative and practical .... I’m considering the forester vs the RAV4 after I end my CRV lease.... not interested in another GDI turbo due to oil dilution issues.
Subaru is riding a wave of demand and has constrained production to keep prices high. You can expect to pay close to list price with unwanted add ons if you expect to get your hands on a Forrester Limited. The Cx-5 is far more stylish and fun to drive. It’s also the most reliable manufacturer according to CR. No brainer
And Subaru ranks Number THREE behind Mazda in reliability, above 20 other car manufacturers. The CX-5 is a cramped little tin can with lousy front & side visibility with a really crummy infotainment system. Basically, just about every thing you've stated above is a lie, so, I can see why you say "no brainer" - you have none. CR rates the Mazda CX-5 BELOW the Forester. How long have you tried to sell cars for Mazda?
@@eskieman3948 not sure what report you are reading, but Mazda is the number one reliable car brand, and Subaru is number NINE behind Ram. This is CR 2020 just to be clear. I just bought a brand new 2021 CX-5 Touring with SV leather for $27,300. Comparable price for a Forrester is at least $31,000. The Forrester is a great SUV - very practical and comfortable, buts it’s also ugly, unreliable (again look at how much Subaru reliability has dropped), and unexciting. The Mazda is far more fun to drive and interesting to look at. The CX-5 ride quality is world class; absorbs bumps so well, but also responsive and agile. The Forrester is okay, but hardly nimble, and cabin is a bit noisy. I will grant you it’s less roomy in the backseat, but nobody here cares because it’s not used often. Car and Driver has the CX5 as their top 10. Ps I don’t sell Mazda’s, I just buy them.

These are NOTHING compared to an Acura, BMW, or even some GM products. Sounds like you haven't been in too many new cars lately.
Very minimal compared to most Mike. I am carless after my 2003 RAV4 died. So Subaru has less tech than most.
