I just want to say that your comment about getting spoiled by someone like Dimash is real. It happened to me, I had a hard time listening to my old favs after discovering Dimash, even though I knew it wasn’t fair to them (I understood him to be an anomaly the moment I heard him). But it took me a long time to get over that hiccup. My love for the music I used to listen to has somewhat returned, but not nearly with the same intensity. I think some of the luster wore off, even though I don’t feel like I’m comparing my old loves to Dimash anymore. Regards, I can’t find myself regretting it. I listen to Dimash everyday and it’s opened me up to a variety of world music I would never have discovered without him. I feel my music taste is much more varied now.
Laura Fabian loved it when Dimash sang her song, Adagio. She has sung with him several times since then. It had the opposite effect with Vitas. He tried to sue The Singer and forbade Dimash from ever singing Opera 2 again. He was so jealous. Dimash was able to sing higher. Lol
I'd never hard of Vitas until I read your comment. I looked up his version and to me although he is an extremely good vocalist he lacks Dimash's Genius and ease. Viras is technically brilliant but Dimash has something which goes beyond this.
Actually it was Vitas’s record company threatened to sue. They told Dimash to stop performing it or they will sue. That’s why Dimash doesn’t perform it anymore. Vitas actually congratulated Dimash on his version and said Dimash sang it with two octaves higher than his version.
DEPRESSED Alone for months in China with only a coach and interpreter, his calls had become increasingly sullen and sad; his family were deeply concerned. His Father called the producers and said he was flying over to surprise him, not to tell him, he would sit in the audience. They were delighted because everyone had noticed the dramatic change in Dimash and were worried. The camera keeps panning to him in the audience, big arm pump at the end ! but Dimash didn't see him until everyone sees him just stop and bound off the stage ! He said he would never have been that cheeky if he knew his Father was there ! He lifted his Dad off the ground in a bearhug and in the hall, he kept asking was I ok ? Was I good ? And buried his face in his neck saying I want to go home, all in that extended video. He has said many times, he wants to "honor his parents, and family's sacrifices when he performs" Dad never went home. To this day, a family member always goes with him when he travels to perform. They live in Kazakh tradition, the extended family under one roof, and loneliness when away, seems a factor they found. In an interview, his Mom was asked, when it was her turn, what she did with her time during those hours long rehearsals. Shop ! And a charming giggle was the answer. Then she waved her hands, laughed, blushed, and demured, not really, well not that much. So funny.
Being an old grandmother,I still love all the music from the sixties-seventies,such good memories from my youth.I do listen to Freddy Mercury and Queen.I miss him.But Dimash ,to me,is mindblowing.Greetings from Mallorca🌞👍
Yeah, the live band (and the backing vocalists) in the Singer show are amazing. (everything is, lights too :)) The lyrics say something like "the wind is howling outside, the rain weeps for me", hence the aaaAAAaaAAAA 😂 Dimash modulated 3 more times than the original :)) Funny detail : his father had come from Kazakhstan to support him, and was hiding in the audience, and revealed himself at the end, as he didn`t want to stress Dimash before the performance - the funny part : Dimash asked him repeatedly - "Did I sing well ?" 😁- we were like awww 😄; in all seriousness, Dimash is a pretty humble, self-critical guy. We saw him analyzing his own performances and cringing, thinking of some minute detail that NOBODY noticed or cared about 😄
I discovered Dimash with this song in 2017. For some reason I was searching for Vitas that day and came apon this video. I thought to myself, who would try to sing Opera 2 and do it justice? 🤔 I clicked on it out of curiosity and wow...completely blown away because he sang it so well and even higher than Vitas. 😍 I was an instant Dear and have been following his career ever since. I've gone through phases of shock, then comparison, then not wanting to listen to anyone else. Next, I went through wanting him to sing every song I've ever heard. Even a phase of talking about him to anyone and everyone in my life. I finally saw him in concert in 2019...best concert I've been to! This past year I'm slowly enjoying everything I used to listen to before Dimash, but sometimes I still day dream how Dimash would sing it when a song plays. I think there's no going back to a time before Dimash. 😂
I still like all my "old" favorites such as Elton, Sting, Steve Perry, etc., BUT I listen to Dimash 90% of the time. I don't bother to compare anyone to him because that's just impossible. Greetings from Las Vegas, and keep up your great Dimash reactions please. 😁
The Singer competition is one episode per week for 14 weeks. Dimash performed one song per episode except episode 11! The man that did the fist pump at the end is his dad who surprised Dimash for support. He went higher than the original singer, Vitas, which is why he was banned from ever singing the song again. 👱♀️👗👠👠💓
I think it wasn't quite that simple. I have understood that there was a negligence in copyright issues from the Singers/Hunai TVs part (?). A great pity. This performance was the first I ever saw from Dimash and it has a very special meaning for me. But I do like Vitas's MV very much - they are actually like two different songs, totally different vibes.
@@pirkkoukkonen8039 It was matter of fact that simple. Dimash went up 3 times where Vitas only went up once and Dimash sang live where Vitas Lip synched. And Dimash sounded much better so his people couldn't stand any further disappointment so they threatened to sue if Dimash EVER sang it again!!!
Expecting nothing less from him than perfection . Raised in a family of opera singers(both his parents) from a really young age Dimash showed his vocal abilities. With a range of a professional singer he can literally sing everything. We can't wait for that reaction, thank you Tony 💛
Dimash is not primarily about wide range and high notes, but about telling a story, no matter in what range he sings. I hope you react to his Kazakh songs. They are very different and so beautiful and moving.

That was his dad with the fist pump at the end of the performance. Dimash didn't know that his father was there. His dad is a well-known singer in Asia and his mom is a well-regarded opera singer.
In one of the competition he was next in line and asked to be excused to allow the younger ones to Have a greater chance,The judges were angry saying he knew what this was when he agreed to get into it,but he stood his ground and said he was refusing to continue because the others deserved the chance to get the prize.

Opera 2 was originally performed by Vitas a Russian artist, who upon hearing Dimash’s version, immediately filed a cease and desist prohibiting Dimash from ever performing it again 🤣🤣. Petty, but I wouldn’t want Dimash to cover my song either. Lionel Ritchie also asked Dimash never to perform “Hello” again after his 2018 performance of the song.

Opera 2 was my first-ever introduction to Dimash. The original singer (& songwriter?) of this, Vitas, was not happy about this. Partly because I think the showrunners, etc, failed to get proper permission, but I think mostly because Dimash blew him out of the water.
Vitas originally did this song. He has banned Dimash from performing it again. Lol...This was only Dimash's 2nd performance on the Chinese show "Singer" from 2017. You saw "SOS" which was his first performance. Keep watching from that show. There are 10 more performances I belive. There's no one in the world like Dimash! He exceptional in every way!!

That was his second performance in the Chinese reality show “The Singer”. He was totally unknown in China and they discovered him in his first performance. After that he got 600 million likes and he became famous in China. I think in this second round he wanted to be grateful to the audience and play with everybody. The original song from Vitas Has 2 key changes. Dimash added two more to please the audience.
The musicians are amazing on this show. They have to play for all singers who are all different, Dimash was very polite but insisted that he had say on how the songs were presented.
This is a cover by Vita’s who had Dimash sign a cease and desist letter. Vita is really quirky but I enjoyed Dimash’s cover more. In addition he did a Cover of Lionel Ritchie’s song Hello and he also had Dimash and his dad who is his producer sign a cease and desist form. This is his 2nd performance in 2017. My 2 FAV singers of all time are DQ and HUA CHEN YU. If you check out Hua's FAKE MONK, PLEASE!!!! use the video that has the PRE PERFORMANCE INTERVIEW OR you will not understand the song and it may just seem "crazy" to you. DQ can actually sing a couple notes off the top of the piano. He doesn't use them often even though it appears effortless when he does.
Chinese audience knew this song from Vitas, but Dimash took it to levels Vitas didn't. It was only the second time they'd seen Dimash (after SOS), and they loved him. This was Singer 2017. "Singer" Production and musicianship gives everyone the best experience for a live show. We'll thought out lighting and sound, great backing vocalists and musicians. They honour the orchestra and singers by naming them and allowing them "their moment in the sun". The best example of that is probably Singer 2016, when Shin sang The Scorpions "Still loving you". He was a solo singer, so they just CREATED a rock band for that performance. You’re right-don’t compare. I absolutely love listening to Geoff Castellucci, who has at least a 5 octave range. Totally different kind of singer; more country/contemporary style (though he does go for a darker sound at times, he is def. not a classical singer). Also love Peter Barber, who IS an opera singer (tho most of the songs on his channel are other styles), also has an extensive range. Colm McGuinness, also incredible range, whole nother kinda voice. If you like metal, there’s Jonathan Young-insane what he can do with his voice. There are tons of amazing singers out there, and comparing and picking favorites only limits you. Enjoy what each one does-Dimash may not sing in their niche as well as they do (it might be fun to see him try, though). That said, you probably SHOULD check out VITAS singing this same song. He’s a heck of a showman, interesting guy, and he’s the one who wrote it to showcase his own range. He won’t let Dimash sing it anymore. This is also one of my top Dimash performances just because he was having fun, playing with the audience. So many of his tunes are super serious and dramatic and even tragic (the lyrics to this would surprise you as well). It’s just nice to see a cheeky side. Great reaction! Can’t wait to see what you do next (PS, any of the above singers-if you haven’t checked them out you should.)

She has the voice range of Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and can perform some genres: rock, jazz, pop, ballads, hip hop, raps etc. she has original song, “Akin ka na lang” on Wish Bus 107.5, with 187M views. She covered, “Never Enough”, Rise Up”, “Secret Love” all on Wish Bus 107.5! What I like most is her cover on MYX, “I want to know what love is”. You have to hear this girl to believe. I’m sure you’ll get readily 50K new subscribers in a short time!
My days start and end with Dimash, but I do like different kinds of music, so in between, it can be Andra Day, Pentatonix, Lara Fabian, Il Divo, Diana Ankudinova, Angelina Jordan, Queen, Zhou Shen, Danelia Tuleshova, it really depends on the mood) Plus I am one of those people who really loves old Turkish ballads 😀Cheers!

I listen to Dimash everyday and it’s opened me up to a variety of world music I would never have discovered without him. I feel my music taste is much more varied now.
Laura Fabian loved it when Dimash sang her song, Adagio. She has sung with him several times since then. It had the opposite effect with Vitas. He tried to sue The Singer and forbade Dimash from ever singing Opera 2 again. He was so jealous. Dimash was able to sing higher. Lol
I'd never hard of Vitas until I read your comment. I looked up his version and to me although he is an extremely good vocalist he lacks Dimash's Genius and ease. Viras is technically brilliant but Dimash has something which goes beyond this.
Actually it was Vitas’s record company threatened to sue. They told Dimash to stop performing it or they will sue. That’s why Dimash doesn’t perform it anymore. Vitas actually congratulated Dimash on his version and said Dimash sang it with two octaves higher than his version.

DEPRESSED Alone for months in China with only a coach and interpreter, his calls had become increasingly sullen and sad; his family were deeply concerned. His Father called the producers and said he was flying over to surprise him, not to tell him, he would sit in the audience. They were delighted because everyone had noticed the dramatic change in Dimash and were worried. The camera keeps panning to him in the audience, big arm pump at the end ! but Dimash didn't see him until everyone sees him just stop and bound off the stage ! He said he would never have been that cheeky if he knew his Father was there ! He lifted his Dad off the ground in a bearhug and in the hall, he kept asking was I ok ? Was I good ? And buried his face in his neck saying I want to go home, all in that extended video. He has said many times, he wants to "honor his parents, and family's sacrifices when he performs" Dad never went home. To this day, a family member always goes with him when he travels to perform. They live in Kazakh tradition, the extended family under one roof, and loneliness when away, seems a factor they found. In an interview, his Mom was asked, when it was her turn, what she did with her time during those hours long rehearsals. Shop ! And a charming giggle was the answer. Then she waved her hands, laughed, blushed, and demured, not really, well not that much. So funny.

Yeah, the live band (and the backing vocalists) in the Singer show are amazing. (everything is, lights too :)) The lyrics say something like "the wind is howling outside, the rain weeps for me", hence the aaaAAAaaAAAA 😂 Dimash modulated 3 more times than the original :)) Funny detail : his father had come from Kazakhstan to support him, and was hiding in the audience, and revealed himself at the end, as he didn`t want to stress Dimash before the performance - the funny part : Dimash asked him repeatedly - "Did I sing well ?" 😁- we were like awww 😄; in all seriousness, Dimash is a pretty humble, self-critical guy. We saw him analyzing his own performances and cringing, thinking of some minute detail that NOBODY noticed or cared about 😄
I discovered Dimash with this song in 2017. For some reason I was searching for Vitas that day and came apon this video. I thought to myself, who would try to sing Opera 2 and do it justice? 🤔 I clicked on it out of curiosity and wow...completely blown away because he sang it so well and even higher than Vitas. 😍 I was an instant Dear and have been following his career ever since.
I've gone through phases of shock, then comparison, then not wanting to listen to anyone else. Next, I went through wanting him to sing every song I've ever heard. Even a phase of talking about him to anyone and everyone in my life. I finally saw him in concert in 2019...best concert I've been to! This past year I'm slowly enjoying everything I used to listen to before Dimash, but sometimes I still day dream how Dimash would sing it when a song plays. I think there's no going back to a time before Dimash. 😂

The Singer competition is one episode per week for 14 weeks. Dimash performed one song per episode except episode 11! The man that did the fist pump at the end is his dad who surprised Dimash for support. He went higher than the original singer, Vitas, which is why he was banned from ever singing the song again. 👱♀️👗👠👠💓
I think it wasn't quite that simple. I have understood that there was a negligence in copyright issues from the Singers/Hunai TVs part (?). A great pity. This performance was the first I ever saw from Dimash and it has a very special meaning for me. But I do like Vitas's MV very much - they are actually like two different songs, totally different vibes.
@@pirkkoukkonen8039 It was matter of fact that simple. Dimash went up 3 times where Vitas only went up once and Dimash sang live where Vitas Lip synched. And Dimash sounded much better so his people couldn't stand any further disappointment so they threatened to sue if Dimash EVER sang it again!!!

In one of the competition he was next in line and asked to be excused to allow the younger ones to Have a greater chance,The judges were angry saying he knew what this was when he agreed to get into it,but he stood his ground and said he was refusing to continue because the others deserved the chance to get the prize.

Opera 2 was originally performed by Vitas a Russian artist, who upon hearing Dimash’s version, immediately filed a cease and desist prohibiting Dimash from ever performing it again 🤣🤣. Petty, but I wouldn’t want Dimash to cover my song either. Lionel Ritchie also asked Dimash never to perform “Hello” again after his 2018 performance of the song.

Opera 2 was my first-ever introduction to Dimash. The original singer (& songwriter?) of this, Vitas, was not happy about this. Partly because I think the showrunners, etc, failed to get proper permission, but I think mostly because Dimash blew him out of the water.
It’s really good to see him having fun with his audience.
Vitas originally did this song. He has banned Dimash from performing it again. Lol...This was only Dimash's 2nd performance on the Chinese show "Singer" from 2017. You saw "SOS" which was his first performance. Keep watching from that show. There are 10 more performances I belive. There's no one in the world like Dimash! He exceptional in every way!!

That was his second performance in the Chinese reality show “The Singer”. He was totally unknown in China and they discovered him in his first performance. After that he got 600 million likes and he became famous in China. I think in this second round he wanted to be grateful to the audience and play with everybody. The original song from Vitas Has 2 key changes. Dimash added two more to please the audience.

My 2 FAV singers of all time are DQ and HUA CHEN YU. If you check out Hua's FAKE MONK, PLEASE!!!! use the video that has the PRE PERFORMANCE INTERVIEW OR you will not understand the song and it may just seem "crazy" to you. DQ can actually sing a couple notes off the top of the piano. He doesn't use them often even though it appears effortless when he does.
Chinese audience knew this song from Vitas, but Dimash took it to levels Vitas didn't. It was only the second time they'd seen Dimash (after SOS), and they loved him. This was Singer 2017. "Singer" Production and musicianship gives everyone the best experience for a live show. We'll thought out lighting and sound, great backing vocalists and musicians. They honour the orchestra and singers by naming them and allowing them "their moment in the sun". The best example of that is probably Singer 2016, when Shin sang The Scorpions "Still loving you". He was a solo singer, so they just CREATED a rock band for that performance. These musicians are NOT a rock band, but we got Shin giving a great performance and the musicians given a spotlight too.

You’re right-don’t compare. I absolutely love listening to Geoff Castellucci, who has at least a 5 octave range. Totally different kind of singer; more country/contemporary style (though he does go for a darker sound at times, he is def. not a classical singer). Also love Peter Barber, who IS an opera singer (tho most of the songs on his channel are other styles), also has an extensive range. Colm McGuinness, also incredible range, whole nother kinda voice. If you like metal, there’s Jonathan Young-insane what he can do with his voice. There are tons of amazing singers out there, and comparing and picking favorites only limits you. Enjoy what each one does-Dimash may not sing in their niche as well as they do (it might be fun to see him try, though).
That said, you probably SHOULD check out VITAS singing this same song. He’s a heck of a showman, interesting guy, and he’s the one who wrote it to showcase his own range. He won’t let Dimash sing it anymore.
This is also one of my top Dimash performances just because he was having fun, playing with the audience. So many of his tunes are super serious and dramatic and even tragic (the lyrics to this would surprise you as well). It’s just nice to see a cheeky side.

There’s a “once in a generation talent” however that needs to be heard too, her name is Morissette Amon, a very talented lady, she has a distinct tone & timbre, a flawless voice… noted for her squeaks, growls, cries & beautiful long whistles notes. She has the voice range of Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and can perform some genres: rock, jazz, pop, ballads, hip hop, raps etc. she has original song, “Akin ka na lang” on Wish Bus 107.5, with 187M views. She covered, “Never Enough”, Rise Up”, “Secret Love” all on Wish Bus 107.5! What I like most is her cover on MYX, “I want to know what love is”. You have to hear this girl to believe.
I’m sure you’ll get readily 50K new subscribers in a short time!

My days start and end with Dimash, but I do like different kinds of music, so in between, it can be Andra Day, Pentatonix, Lara Fabian, Il Divo, Diana Ankudinova, Angelina Jordan, Queen, Zhou Shen, Danelia Tuleshova, it really depends on the mood) Plus I am one of those people who really loves old Turkish ballads 😀Cheers!
