FECKING FINALLY! THIS IS A MASTERPIECE. This one got me into anime 2 years ago. I'm 33 yo. And a cinephile. But no other movie, tv show has ever gripped me as this one. When I saw this I was blown away. Now I'm cursed by looking for something at least a little similar to this. But nothing in the whole world could repeat that. If you haven't finished it - just watch it till the end. It's the show that will blow your mind when you finish it. and it becomes even greater on second viewing. So many details were missed by us on the first viewing and they all played a crucial part and could even suggest what was going on. @@Deridus one hundred percent. it’s my personal favourite show of all time and I think you have to see all of the show to understand what the writer was thinking the whole time
“Writers”, nah bro all of this story was done by 1 guy Edit: ok wow so I guess I should elaborate, from my own understanding mostly of all anime is adapted from manga(except for those times when it’s something original) and the anime is an exact copy of the manga, it’s not like other book adaptations where the studio takes parts of it and adapts a similar story(except for the few that do have studio interference) like how marvels civil war movie and book are similar but completely different. Of course there are tv writers whose job is to translate the images into animation. And in most cases the original manga writer doesn’t get to have involvement in the anime. But what makes Hajime Isayama(the creator of aot) unique is that he did have a lot of creative control over the anime since he considers the manga a blueprint and the anime his finished product, because he does make changes from the manga to anime and it ends up for the better. So in this case the creator was the main writer for the whole story, for the manga and anime, and what makes him extra unique is that apparently this is his first ever story that he wrote. Also of course he is the main writer but it’s also possible that he took notes from other writers to help him develop his story better
Even to the manga there's a Head writer, but they have ppl that help, consult and even take decisions. For example Sasha was suppose to go off by 2d. Season but another writer scraped that and restructured her arc

Monster - this anime made me applaud in the end, it's one o rarest occasions when the story shows what made a great villain a villain towards the culmination and when you see this you just get speechless in shock while feeling the terror you saw and then you perfectly understand that what just happened can truly make any human a Monster. 10 out 10, I'll never forget it (the psychological aspect of the moment is truly hard core, it really can break peoples sanity if happening to someone, without spoiling it, it's on the same level of shock as Berserks Eclipse moment or imagine how would you be if you'd see a person in front of you burning in fire to the death in agony, stuff like that that can crack peoples conscience, that level of shit happened to Johan, but the thing is, unlike other animes, this one manages to show this moment the best way possible, in a way you would truly get it and don't have any doubt about it's veracity)

AoT is an absolute masterpiece. They did an amazing job with the contrast of beauty and horror in a lot of scenes. For example, being inside a forest with beams of light shining through the canopy while characters you've become fond of are being slaughtered. It really makes scenes like that have a lasting impression. However, of all the aspects of the show that are masterfully done, the way they conveyed conflicting perspectives on the morality of war and humanity was brilliantly done above all else. After finishing it, it felt like a genuine honor to be able to witness such a work of art that was clearly created with immense effort and love.
It's genuinely a modern achievement of a story. Morality is put to the ultimate test, and your conscience is questioned at every turn of the plot and every character revel and choices, to the point you are uncomfortable with the implications of what our beloved characters do, and the triumphs of what the villains do. It blurs all lines of the hero-villain archetypes to tell us a human story of war and compassion.
Season 1 shocked me with how Game of Thrones it was like with people I thought would be regulars suddenly dying. It's quite the emotional rollercoaster which is both one of its strengths and weaknesses. It's a strength because it makes a thrilling story but a weakness in that it makes me hesitate to rewatch it as I may not always have the nerves for all the highs and lows again.

My god it's one of my favorite scenes in all of Anime. I also loved the dubbed version. The English voice actors really do a good job. Great video sir.
My favorite aspect of the series is being bound and chained by different things. Eren eventually frees himself from nearly every bond. But one thing he could never be free from was Time. Then there is like universe rules are broken time and time again so story can rush into direction it had no way of going. All of which is elevated several times by fact of how good story was prior to it. Even Game of Thrones disaster was somewhat teased by entire second half of series being clearly worse than first half. With AoT meanwhile? The best compliment I can give a show like this is that when it’s all over, the mysteries they set up in previous seasons all make total sense because they had it all planned out.
It's a rare and special story that gives so many plot twists and yet each makes previous scenes make MORE sense
It’s not perfect but you can tell it wasn’t pulled from the arse season by season in the footsteps of Jar Jar.
@jmass4207 imo only the ending wasn't perfect, other than the ending it is a straight 10/10 all across the board
@@sirhellsing Agreed, I would say seasons 1-3 are perfect and most of season 4 is at that level, but they left a lot of stories unresolved (or just quickly addressed them like Ymir's fate). And that finale is a bit of a gimmick, but it's still a good ending.
@bencarlson4300 I absolutely hated the ending (anime wasn't much better imo), but I guess strong emotions do pass with time. During the ending I would give it a 8/10, minus 2 points just because of the ending, now I give it 9/10 minus 1 point for the ending

“Writers”, nah bro all of this story was done by 1 guy
Edit: ok wow so I guess I should elaborate, from my own understanding mostly of all anime is adapted from manga(except for those times when it’s something original) and the anime is an exact copy of the manga, it’s not like other book adaptations where the studio takes parts of it and adapts a similar story(except for the few that do have studio interference) like how marvels civil war movie and book are similar but completely different.
For the manga yeah but it gets adapted onto the screen by actual TV anime writers. 🤷♂️

Overall turned into generic/one sided final fight where only real thing is ridiculous amount of plot armor and plot convenience rather than any believable or earned actions and plans.
While disaster isn't that spectacular, contrast of how suddenly story quality went south is even more apparent.
