    Chandeep, you are the best!!!
    I am following many youtubers for Power BI and DAX, but not one gives multiple examples in one video which you do very flawlessly to clear out concepts. Kudos to you 👍

    Sheesh - this is great! Especially love how you built up the fundamental logic to the running count example. Thanks!

    The top 3 useful functions for any spreadsheet platform are lookup, countifs and sumifs.
    By that criteria, this really was the best and most useful power bi podcast for me
    I instantly saw the similarity to VBA loops
    The VAR line is the equivalent of the start of the loop "for i = 1 to 100", for instance,
    and the FILTER bit is the virtual table that the macro is running on.
    This is my go-to method for sumifs and countifs in future.
    Many thanks Goodly 😁

    This is super helpful, i've been battling with a calculation for while. Trying to count the number customers based on last 12 mnths sales margin condition and grouped by a disconnected cohort table. Current, lost, at risk etc.

    Have you been able to generate an index sac function that would order the records in whatever order they are selected? For example, if I have several columns in a table, and I click on the heading of any of the columns to sort by that column, I want that index to recalculate and always show up as a “record counter” column (like, the first column in my table that would show how many records I have in total)
    It’s easy to create an index in the default sort order, but it “breaks” as soon as you resort. So, my quest is to create that dynamic index no matter how you sort. And (it gets harder) if you have a slicer and select some specific data segment, that index column should still show up as 1, 2, 3, 4 etc for those selected records.

    Hi. I wanted to know if there is any way to join two or more tables based on inequality conditions in Power Query. I have a scenario in which a date column of one table should be between two date columns of another table. I am unable to perform merge operation based on this condition. I only know equal cases, but what about the inequalities like less than greater than between not equal etc. Please help me with this.

    You overlooked EARLIER, COUNTROWS( FILTER( ALL(Table1),Table1[Item] = EARLIER(Table1[Item]) ))
    also a theory question, if you just use Table[Col] = Table[Col] , no good but when
    as you did you VAR = T= Table [Col] ; Table [Col] = T , you're good to go. I guess something to do with VAR being calculated once? Anyway great vid , keep up the fantastic work.

    • @GoodlyChandeep
      @GoodlyChandeep  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This was on purpose 😄
      And yes you are right about VAR it is calculated once outside the iterator so when referenced it's value doesn't change.

    • @HachiAdachi
      @HachiAdachi 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      EARLIER is a bad idea unless your table has very few rows... The performance cost is ridiculous!

    • @williamarthur4801
      @williamarthur4801 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@HachiAdachi I'll keep that in mind, I always just think of EARLIER as go to function for a calculated column running total etc.

    • @sweydert
      @sweydert 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@williamarthur4801The Italians are adamant that variables render EARLIER obsolete. They claim to include EARLIER in their books solely in the event you encounter it in a legacy project.
